Hi, I hope no one minds me starting a new thread, I was about to post on the old one and then saw it was on 999 messages so I'm hoping I can get a link to this one on before it fills up so we don't get lost. Apologies if I've trodden on anyone's toes Blush

The previous thread is here

I think I spotted the elusive lizard grey today. A blouse in a local boutique by Anna Scott. Could be nice as a work top. Also lovely dark brown cowl neck blouse by fenn wright Manson. can't find any links though so maybe old stock.
bank account empty though so no spending for a while.

Rapunzel88 · 24/12/2014 12:08

Red alert people, the Kettlewell sale just started! Have a lovely Xmas and happy shopping x

XmasTimeMissCostelloAndWine · 27/12/2014 12:10

Thanks for the tip Rapunzel, am tempted by a couple of their tops!

The ASOS shirts I got a while back are now in the sale - £6 for the camel and £8 for the khaki, if anyone needs cheap work shirts!

I've ordered various shoes in Debenhams and ASOS sales, will report back when they arrive.

I hope everyone has had a lovely Christmas Xmas Smile

What's the dress code for a "gala dinner"?

It's the evening meal of a professional conference I'm thinking of possibly attending in the summer, and I don't have a clue what I would wear, having always avoided these things in the past.

I'm a short natural gamine, soft blue autumn, and would want to blend in, not stand out.

Hopefully · 10/01/2015 20:55

I would assume cocktail unless told otherwise. Knee length dress in a dark neutral (teal/marine navy/dark green)?

I have been shopping crazy, will link shortly.

evelynj · 10/01/2015 21:28

Hi all, happy 2015. Great links-I bought these bargain shoes

www.debenhams.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/prod_10701_10001_050010340295_-1

Am currently looking for a wedding outfit for March-I'm plus size & pear shaped-a natural romantic. If anyone comes across anything low necked & weddingish, please let me know, otherwise I'll not be in autumn colours!

Off to venture to the m&s site to check for plain things.

evelynj · 10/01/2015 22:56

Oh-lipsticks-my husband surprised me with 2 tom ford lippies for Christmas-true coral & wild ginger. Love them both. I also bought revlon really red & like it tho it's darker than I'd usually wear. I love lady danger by Mac -another recent purchase. I have a bit of a problem with red lipsticks!

libertychick · 10/01/2015 23:08

Marking place as I was diagnosed as a blue autumn today. I had assumed I was winter and have a wardrobe full of black and grey. Will take a while to get it right I think but I am happy with the colours.

Charitygirl1 · 11/01/2015 10:38

Oh link away Hopefully! I have been fairly restrained but mre out of not seeing much than from trying to be good. Found a nice royal purple long sleeved top in Jigsaw sale. Plus waiting on a moss long sleeve and the petrol pencil skirt from Kettlewell, and a pair of yellow and blue New Balances from Asos.

Charitygirl1 · 11/01/2015 10:39

Also hemming and hawing over this. Might be too shiny and flouncy...

Hi Liberty I've posted on the MNV thread, but hopefully you'll find some stuff on here too.

My only expensive recent purchase has been these F&B boots, which are just lovely. A really really dark olive green, the sort that looks black until you see it in daylight.

I also had a good haul in town yesterday. I bought a jumper with elbow patched from H&M (not on the website, annoyingly), which is a really warm burgundy (I know that sounds weird, but occasionally you find a burgundy that just doesn't work on the cool toned people and works on a blue autumn). Also a leopard vest, plaid shirt, lizard grey t-shirt (I think it's the mole colour on that link, but it's much greyer IRL) and draped cream top which is quite Wang-esque. Also bought mole converse, which I've ordered neon green laces for (because I am actually 13).

I tried on this M&S skirt (which looked more forest/teal IRL) and these lizard grey flats in M&S, which were both nice but not quite edgy enough for me. Seems to be a good season for mole/lizard grey colours as neutrals, i saw quite a lot.

Have also done well in the hush sale. Have bough longline vests in everglade and mallard, and the longline tops in the same colours. Have also risked ordering a longline vest in grey, as their grey harems used to be a really browny grey and I'm hoping the vest might be the same. Am not holding my breath though. I also bought the geometric scarf, which I'm really liking. Oh, and a red cashmere beanie . Ordered and returned the Amy dress which was a lovely colour but a total mum-tunic on me, and the henley dress which was nice but I wanted it as a dress and it was definitely tunic length.

Oh, and I bought teal Leighs in topshop (must order a pair in a dark denim colour when I get a moment) and plaid shirt (because everyone needs two plaid shirts, right?).

Will probably now not shop again till about July....

Hopefully · 11/01/2015 15:27

Love that dress Charity, gorgeous colour. Not exactly casual school run attire, of course...

KittyB52 · 11/01/2015 17:45

I am really struggling (still) - have contacted my HoC consultant about a recap of Natural Ingenue as I am finding absolutely nothing in the shops at the moment and I am in desperate need of work clothes (am still wearing the same two pairs of ruddy trousers I've been wearing for over a year). I can sometimes find lovely Autumn colours, but the style is off, or I can find something I think is Nat Ing., but it's the wrong colour (usually Spring or Summer colours).

I am finding a few things I like on Pinterest, but they're either US only or no longer available.

M to the E to the H.

nevergooglebrandybutter · 11/01/2015 17:47

I like the h&m tops Hopefully. Something to go with my 17 cardigans!

Hopefully · 11/01/2015 19:25

Kitty what sort of shape trousers are you after? Would you do this sort of thing with heels? or these? Don't be put off by them being called jeans, they don't look remotely denim. I like this blazer too.

KittyB52 · 11/01/2015 19:41

I don't necessarily need to be wearing trousers, I am supposed to be wearing more skirts and dresses, but that means new shoes/boots as well.

I like the colour of that blazer, but it looks a bit long for me. I suspect the peg leg trousers are going to give me proper parsnip legs (I'm pear shaped and petite). Grin

I was/am looking forward to a new wardrobe - I loathe the stuff I am wearing at the moment, but can't find anything I like (let alone love) in the shops. I suspect the combination of my season combined with Natural Ingenue plus my height is what's making it really hard for me to find clothes. Confused

HandMini · 11/01/2015 22:46

For work trousers, I love the Sloane cuts by Banana Republic. Have you tried them?

libertychick · 13/01/2015 21:50

Great links Hopefully. Love the boots. I must have a look in H&M. I had a look at the pencil skirt in M&S but I didn't have time to try it on. I suspect it might be too fitted though for my ample bottom! BTW have sent you a pm Smile

I have started getting some autumn bits and pieces. This dress is in TKMaxx for £20 Really lovely but I decided to return as it's a bit too clingy for work - that bottom again!

I have also bought this top and this belt.

evelynj · 18/01/2015 17:51

Hi all

Do we think this is autumn or close?

www.ebay.co.uk/itm/DEBENHAMS-RETRO-50S-TEA-DRESS-FLORAL-IVORY-CORAL-ROCKABILLY-RRP-55-SIZE-8-22-/191364201961?pt=UK_Women_s_Dresses&var=&hash=item2c8e31fde9

The shape & pattern are good for me though would like something darker.

I hate shopping for wedding outfits, grrr!

Charitygirl1 · 18/01/2015 19:39

Definitely autumn in my opinion!

Karbea · 22/01/2015 13:31

Hello,

I've recently been diagnosed as an autumn and just wondered how you were all doing?

nevergooglebrandybutter · 22/01/2015 16:26

I picked up a lovely red top in the zara sale blowing my £5 shopping budget Smile
I definitely need more red in my life.

Charitygirl1 · 22/01/2015 22:27

Look at this bargain I picked up in Zara! Got them off the £15 rack and assumed they were pleather, but no! After several £200+ pairs being bought and returned as not good enough, I am very pleased with these.

libertychick · 22/01/2015 23:54

Good sales shopping Charitygirl, they look great.

Has anyone attempted dying clothes to autumn colours? Any recommendations of shades to try?

Charitygirl1 · 23/01/2015 10:26

Robert Dyas stock a limited range - I've used the sunflower yellow to dye white broderie anglaise very successfully. Also the terracotta brown is wearable. And there's an orange, and a dark green. What I'd like is a cream but that seems to be impossible.
