Congratulations One, very exciting

Your collection sounds lovely Ujj . Looking at KM's collection this morning so much of it seemed rather unwearable - tiny shorts, micro skirts and things that you can't wear a bra underneath.

And I draw the line at paying large amounts of money for beach wear thta gets rolled out once a year at best.

shopafrolic · 30/04/2014 12:17

Linus I picked up the neon yellow J Crew tank on the Outnet for £11 recently. They had grey too. Might be worth a look if you love them?

shopafrolic · 30/04/2014 12:22

Waves to Ujj lovely links! would be great to see you at the MU.

santamarianovella · 30/04/2014 12:50

marsha yes the yellow dress,I think its a vintage jean desses, and I vaguely remember km " designing" a similar one for TS when she first collaborated with them back in 06,I think. Along with almost every high street store,
I think its a very poorly thought collection, she should have come up with something more original,

ujj would like to take a peak at your collection it sounds awesome,

Ujjayi · 30/04/2014 16:23

Agree KM collection definitely a "Greatest Hits" and the majority of those pieces are only designed for petite, lithe of limb lovelies. I am not of this particular demographic, sadly! IIRC the cut was very small on previous collections...a cynic would suggest a deliberate ploy...

I have had a stressy day so far and haven't achieved my targets for the day. Youngest DS has a friend over for tea so am on Mama duty until 6pm & then return to work.

Hope everyone has had a lovely day Smile with plenty of warm sunshine.

OneLittleLady · 30/04/2014 16:39

I've had a fairly good day. My friend, who I am helping with wedding planning, and I have found her a wedding dress! We found it in a second hand shop, it's vintage, empire line with a nice train and lots of lovely lace detailing. I'm going to be making some small changes to it for her, such as adding ribbons in her chosen colour scheme and freshwater pearls. It really is beautiful. We go back to pick it up tomorrow Smile

Drywhiteplease · 30/04/2014 17:53

I've got a technical and annoying product question maybe should start a thread

With patent or silver "laminated" shoes ......they can scratch. If you buy a more expensive patent/,laminated (not synthetic) does the finish not scratch?
My R and b quilty ballet flats with leather patent toe from last year are perfect after a lot of wear.
The cheapo Next silver sling backs (synthetic) have a tiny scratch.
I bought some patent shoes a few years ago for a fair wack from Moda in Pelle and the patent started to peel off...they were synthetic.

So the question is with patent not a big fan and metallics is it worth investing? Or does leather scratch too?

Good question, Dry. I wondered that too - the MD ones I linked to earlier are very high shine and it would be immediately obvious if they got any kind of scratch on them. I'm wondering whether to just go for silver leather. that and because they appear to not fit my hobbit feet Angry

MarshaBrady · 30/04/2014 18:54

Ujjayi can't wait to see your collection and yes do come to the MU, fab! You and Blair and anyone else can go for real name. Love your links.

No idea Dry! I'd love some metallic shoes to find out.

MarshaBrady · 30/04/2014 18:56

I meant to put a Grin in there somewhere sounds a bit sarky otherwise!

Ujjayi · 30/04/2014 18:57
Grin
Ujjayi · 30/04/2014 19:00

I really don't mind being called Ujj on here - makes me feel very welcome when people feel comfortable shortening a name (unless it is my DCs names, in which case prepare for my raised eyebrow). I was just imagining swigging fizz with you all in some swanky bar and hearing "ooodge" called out...I'm very down to earth but there are times I like to at least pretend to have some pretensions standards Grin

MarshaBrady · 30/04/2014 19:02

Lol yep. Ujj it is, here. I have to check because my Australianness makes me shorten things.

Drywhiteplease · 30/04/2014 19:07

I'm going to call you "ooge" I love it (what does your name mean...is it funny hippy food like quinoa? Grin keenar)
novice bad about j Choos........
Wouldn't it be funny to meet Grumpy at RA! Lol ......"Hi Grumpy, so lovely to meet you"
"you too Dry"
Would seem so normal to us but our DHs would be Hmm

Anni the DVds have arrived.....can't wait to get started. Thanks so much x

Evening!

Just ordered These as I had seen them on a beauty blog I love.

I love my Leigh skinnies but have never ordered them in a print, so fingers crossed I won't look like a Delftware stuffed sausage in them.

Oh and also ordered some Asos jersey pencil skirts as I lived in them last summer and they had a few nice colours again this year. They seem to be a bit longer this season but that's not a bad thing. I did order two sizes smaller than last year so maybe I am a bit deluded about the amount of weight I have lost. Grin

ujj I also hate it when people shorten my real name or the DC's real name. I don't mind family using a nickname based on mine or their name as a term of endearment but I hate it when other people do.

OneLittleLady · 30/04/2014 19:40

linus people trying to shorten my real name is an absolute disaster, there's almost nothing it can be decently shortened to but people still try Angry

LinusDKD · 30/04/2014 19:41

marsha when I was looking at all the colours the pencil skirt came in I saw this and had to think of you!

MarshaBrady · 30/04/2014 20:02

Oh I love that Linus, I really liked the one on pin too. It's cotton. How unforgiving do you think it is? I might be too lumpy. I'm going to look for a top to go with it in the same order.

People very rarely call me by my full name, dh uses a nickname as do friends. At work I suppose.

LinusDKD · 30/04/2014 20:07

Seriously marsha, if you are lumpy then I am am superlumpy!

Last year's jersey was nice and thick but I can let you know what these new skirts are like when I get them.

I wore my old cobalt one with my new yellow Cos blouse on holiday and I loved the combination of tight stretchy skirt and voluminous 'stiff' blouse.

MarshaBrady · 30/04/2014 20:12

That would be great, thanks. Then I can order, there's a couple of other things I want to add. Need to sit on my hands for a couple of days!

LinusDKD · 30/04/2014 20:14

Mmm, might be a bit longer as it takes a while to deliver to where I live. I hope to have them by the end of next week.

MarshaBrady · 30/04/2014 20:18

That's fine. I get paid next week. A whole week is good Grin

Ujjayi · 30/04/2014 20:31

Dry it is a bit hippy, if I'm honest (although I cannot abide keenwar, if that helps Grin ). It is a type of breathing in yoga. It is pronounced: "oo-jai" and it's generally translated as "victorious". It is a very weird thing to try and explain but this type of breathing allows you to be able to focus more on your yoga practice by slowing down the breathing and bring awareness to that rather than what you're going to make for supper :)

My RL name gets shortened too. I can only think of 2 people who always call me by my full name.

novice - ouch for the shoes.

Linus - I love patterned jeans but I cannot even wedge my ankle through the thigh section of a pair of Leigh jeans. I could definitely wear the ASOS skirts though...once I've shifted this awful medication-related weight (a stone and a half Shock. Feeling terrible as I can't fit in many of my clothes but really don't want to buy any more as I'm determined to lose it asap). I wore jersey midi dresses last year and found the darker or brighter colours were better than anything pale in terms of being forgiving on any lumps.

Turquoiseblue · 30/04/2014 20:31

I d be interested to know how the fot comes up on those skirts Linus.... I tried a few last year from topshop but ended up returning them as they were see through - not a good look, or at least not the look I was aiming for Grin
