I've just caught up with all of this vol and some if the previous. I have been trying to work out how I could avoid going to the sports event and sneak off for a 'school reunion' instead of watching sweaty blokes in Lycra then last week friends who live near the event invited us to stay at theirs for it and I knew my chances were over.

I have been working a lot recently and will be until September, I get less time to browse on here but do enjoy the links and am reading even if I've nothing to add. Still trying not to spend while we have some building plans done, I am quite excited.

I'm in the hate having my hair done camp. Think I'm going to grow it a bit for a while anyway, I'm tired of not being able to wear it up except in a ponytail, which feels a bit young sometimes.

If anyone's looking for cotton sundresses for holidays still, I found some nice-looking ones on the H&M site (though you can never be sure of the RL quality with H&M). Too many to link but most are on the first page of dresses if you show 100 per page, and most have "cotton dress" in the item name.

I love having my hair done. I'm going to a new hairdresser inn a couple of weeks though so a bit scared.

stokey if I saw newborns every day I'd be so broody. I adore babies. Seriously though, I couldn't cope with the demands of women in labour. If I stay in healthcare at all it needs to be with cancer as that's what I enjoy weirdo

Just spent £140 on new glasses. Too much time on mumsnet/ipad and turning 40 means my eyes have worsened. He expects at rapid decline of my eyesight in the next 5 years too. Joy of joys at getting old!

My dh is a soppy bugger. Just received flowers with the note 'you haven't had flowers for some time and you definitely deserve them. You're a great mum and wife-thank you and don't give up'

Blair I'm going to have a look in H and M on Saturday for cheap holiday throw on dresses! really find it hard to spend on items I'll wear 3 times during a 2 week holiday.

I realised looking at our holiday pics last year, I seem to be wearing the same dresses as the year before and some from the year before that. Different country, same dresses .

That's hilarious Dry and scarily accurate - I spend a lot of time on conf calls - usually chairing them v tiresome.
