Over here all you fashionistas for fabulous, frivolous, friendly, fashion talk and more. High end or high st, we don't care as long as your glass is half full.

The worst bit for me isn't calling people by their MN names - Shop and Marsha do it all the timeGrin but because I now think of everyone by their real name, I have this total paranoia that I will accidentally out someone by using their rl name in a post!Blush

Drywhiteplease · 28/04/2014 21:26

Me too Novice!
But shop fences are so last year! surely you could at least wear a dry stone wall non?

OP posts:
shopafrolic · 28/04/2014 21:32

Me too Novice. I've nearly outed Sleep on several occasions Blush
Dry I'm an Autumn daahling. Too cold, too grey.

QueenCadbury · 28/04/2014 21:37

Yep, I'm in! Just had a trying on session of clothes and was thinking whist to wear to mu!

linus dh was a bit Hmm when I went to the mu last time but this time he hasn't even batted an eyelid. He's also used to being the resident doctor for all mnv medical needs Grin
dry you could be in for an expensive weekend. My dd can be so indecisive and she gets too stressed with too much choice. She likes me to buy a selection of clothes for her and she chooses from them.
shop £1800 for a fence? How big is your garden. Is that really how much they cost hopes our fence never needs replacing.

Drywhiteplease · 28/04/2014 21:47

Queenc hotel+train ticket+show+activity on Sunday....it's already cost me a bomb, but it's going to be great.

Love how MU outfits are being planned 2 months in advance!!!!!

OP posts:
shopafrolic · 28/04/2014 21:49

Bloody hell that is outfit planning in advance QueenC. I usually decide on the day or the night before at best!
Garden is 150ft. But our neighbour (the builder) quoting the job has used fencing with 15 year guarantees and fancy tops etc. We can't afford that but the job has to be done soon......

shopafrolic · 28/04/2014 21:50

Oh and I forgot to mention. DH bought me a new car on Saturday! I get it in two weeks! Yay!

GrumpyOldHorsewoman · 28/04/2014 22:20

Dry I did a similar trip with the DDs yesterday. I hung around for ages in Pull & Bear while DD1 tried on (and then bought) arm loads of stuff, then they trailed around Selfridges behind me. On to Kings Rd and after a fortifying lunch of lobster rolls DD2 got some new stuff in Petit Bateau, DD1 bought yet more in Brandy Melville and then they both waited reasonably patiently for me in Massimo Dutti. Compromise - that's the key! (And it's never too early to educate them in the art of beautiful things)

BlairWaldorfLovesShopping · 28/04/2014 22:48

Ooh yay for new car shop! Nearly as exciting as clothes, better than fence.

I probably won't answer if anyone calls me Blair at the MU but I hope assure you I'm nothing like my bitchy namesake sadly not as young, rich or beautiful. I expect to be very confused with everyone else, but hopefully it won't matter after a few drinks!

Just watched tonight's Game of Thrones, love it.

QueenCadbury · 29/04/2014 06:51

I went into pull and bear last week and totally realised I'm not their demographic shopper. Much more suited to older dds!

Topazandpearl · 29/04/2014 06:58

More name mixing-up going on! Don't know if Turquoise is coming to the meet-up, but I am! I'm sure there will be lots of confusion.

I love shopping with my DD, she is great at saying "Buy it!"

maradesbois · 29/04/2014 07:51

Please add me to the list for the MU dry. Must admit I was wondering about the name thing too, not sure I'll be able to call you all by your 'proper' ones!

linus no trio, if I do get it will need to be a more considered purchase. Dh already doing the internal raised eyebrow thing!

I have the navy gigis too, really love them and only regret is not getting more pairs. Would like white ones and a brighter colour too maybe yellow or even the silver.

Drywhiteplease · 29/04/2014 07:51

"Fancy tops" get you *shop"!
Sorry Topaz it's the Ts and Qs!
Amber how are you wearing your Boden flat pointy sling backs ....would you do skirts? I pave tried with [[https://www.pinterest.com/pin/443815738251120642/ this] a poss candidate for MU, Queenc you're not the only one colours work, relaxes the skirt for day but not sure about the flat with pencil skirt? (Was wearing with marl grey t shirt and necklace)
Would also love a pair of pointy red flats if anyone sees any.....Boden is pink I think.

OP posts:
Drywhiteplease · 29/04/2014 07:52

this skirt

Turquoiseblue · 29/04/2014 08:06

Sounds nice Dry. I think te silver flats will work with it. Sadly I won't be at the MU to see it.
Not much to report, got these nude courts to replace old LKB ones. They re a nice heel height and super comfy.
Frustratingly though have not found the spring / summer jacket I want. Main contender was the marant etoille one, (will post link in a min - on phone ) tried it on and not pleased. Looked too big in one size and too small in the other - and it s unlined, I think I need lining!

AmberNectarine · 29/04/2014 08:55

I wear my sliver flats with pencil skirts dry. I wore them the other day with a very tight high waisted black pencil skirt, slightly cropped white broderie tee and a pale pink cardi. I also like them with fitted trousers and boyfriend jeans.

MarshaBrady · 29/04/2014 08:56

They look nice Turq.

Novice bling suits you, don't go changing Grin

Blair your name suits this thread, I may have to use it.

Shop good one. What did you get - colour, make?

I like using these names, they are more interesting, especially mine! I prefer Marsha. I didn't want to lose it when we had to re-register.

MarshaBrady · 29/04/2014 09:00

Also it takes me longer to ask a question with real names, my brain has to do flips to remember what goes with what.

Except for Amber, that's pretty easy.

AmberNectarine · 29/04/2014 10:45

See? I'm so considerate.

Feel a bit blah, clothing wise today. Increasingly a problem at work - I always feel like an imposter, because I have to dress sensibly.

MarshaBrady · 29/04/2014 11:05

I need to get a haircut. Argh at how quickly it needs it. So dull getting it done.

And Fedup I'm sure we can fashion your name into something uber too. Fed is very cool Wink.

libertychick · 29/04/2014 11:18

So dull and sooo expensive Marsha.
Working from home today. Had to sit through a 2 hour telecon...ordered 6 pairs of M&S sandals during a particularly boring bit Smile will link if any of them are any good.

MarshaBrady · 29/04/2014 12:00

That was good multi tasking Liberty Grin

I know, dull, expensive and I even though I ask not to have the head massage I find the washing bit annoying.

And I haven't had highlights for ages, I like the blonder at the end thing, but they are nearly gone. Will have to think about doing those too.

shopafrolic · 29/04/2014 12:19

I LOVE having my hair done
But then there is great people watching at the salon I go to. Not celebs, just interesting people.

Stokey · 29/04/2014 12:24

Just catching up after long weekend away for wedding. Funny how long you spend planning outfit etc and actually no-one really cares on the day!

Working at home very sensible Liberty - I spent 3 hours getting to work today despite leaving at 7! definitely working at home for any more tube strikes.

Glad you keep the jacket Sleep and bought the yellow one Grumpy. Makes me happy to think someone is wearing it.

Am also very uninspired re-work clothes Amber, wonder if it is the change of season. I think I need some 3/4 length trousers and sandals with decent soles so I can wear on commute.

QueenC I have a friend who retrained as a doula. Don't know if that is something you'd be interested in? Could be good with your nurse training.

Not going to make this MU I'm afraid, summer is already looking very hectic. But maybe next time.
