Lovely, I think Sleep's one is 4ct?

LinusDKD · 09/05/2014 21:21

Oooh diamonds. Me like.

I have been trying on DM's bling. Some of it really is too bling, even for me.

shopafrolic · 09/05/2014 21:27

Evening all. The James Perse tops are keepers. Thanks Santa for persuading me to keep the sweatshirt It's thinner than others I own so will be good for Spring.
This top is fab too, a nice drape. Will get worn a lot asymmetric top
I've had a rubbish evening getting DS to bed. Since I've come off the meds I'm struggling when I get tired. Glad it's the weekend.
We're going shopping tomorrow for a new sofa and a new TV. DH in his element planning 3D this, flat screen that.
Lollipop your link didn't work for me

Drywhiteplease · 09/05/2014 22:17

Oh Shop we have 3D flat screen 55" with amazing speakers. We never use the 3D, dd sat on one of the pairs of glasses 2 days after we bought it Angry ....fantastic for watching films.

Linus your mother sounds incredibly chic

'nother Dublin graduate here Topaz and Lib! Ah memories! Trinity .... the Pav..
Had a horrible old rattler of a bike - my mate and I used leave them (hers was just as bad) unlocked ... all over dublin... and they were so no one would even steal them !

I love this look

dry - great skirt

Supergas are going back need to try a size down tomorrow as there s lots of room in them, but i love the look, so if the size smaller are ok length wise i think i can live with them otherwise.

Kitted dh and ds out in some great casual gear from fat face - lots reduced too (bonus!)

novice - faab bling!

Queen- i like some of Cos jewellery, and day birger,

Grumpy - love the jcrew dress.

ASOS skirts delivered today, too tired to open package yet. Will try on tomorrow. not sure what i can match up with the silver one , might bring it into town tomorrow when getting dd shoes.

justasecond · 09/05/2014 23:05

Love all the reminiscing this evening! I remember wearing a crop top I made out of an old pair of burgundy school tights a lot in sixth form in 92-94. I cut a hole in the crotch for my head and the legs were the sleeves. It was worn under the obligatory oversized denim shirt.
I also saw a picture of a fitted tight white shirt i.e almost button popping in marie claire and tried to recreate the look by cutting up and sewing back together by hand one of my old school shirts Grin I did'nt have much to spend in those days so was always thinking up ways to get more clothes.
I also used to wear a lot of long skirts as we were not allowed to wear trousers in my prim grammar school but I hated it as my legs were like twigs and boys used to laugh at me. I have not worn a skirt since.
Linus I just love those shoes your dm bought they are on my pin lust list, it must be cool to have a mum who is into fashion as much as you.
Dry lovely skirt will go nice with the orange Zara jacket too.
Lollipope welcome!
I am bitterly disapointed with my TS boyfriend jeans. They were fine before I washed them but I put them on today and they have sagged and bagged beyond all recognition. I had to put on a belt by lunchtime and they just kept growing until I gave up on them around 6pm. I am taking them back. A shame really as I loved them before they were washed. Back to the drawing board, might check out Liberty's ones instead.

libertychick · 09/05/2014 23:59

Oh yes the Bad Ass Cafe - I remember it well! Topaz my username is inspired by the shop in London rather than the place in Dublin. My DM is from Dublin but my Co Leitrim DF persuaded her to live there instead (they met in London in the 60's).

Turq my bike wasn't worth locking either and Grin at Marsha - I did cycle home on many occasions after several pints of Guinness but to the best of my memory I didn't combine the activities.

Linus your DM is tres chic! My DM wears MBTs and the cheapest prescription sunnies she can find.

The skirt is great Dry and YY to styling it with the Zara heels and your biker. Will you get the waist taken in?

Justa I haven't washed the Asos jeans yet - will report back when I do. What a shame about the TS ones.

libertychick · 10/05/2014 00:03

Novice that bracelet is divine. So beautiful. Is that the one you tried on recently?

QueenCadbury · 10/05/2014 07:41

Morning. just I'm laughing at the thought of you making a too from a pair of tights!

Thanks for all the jewellery recs. I'll look later and see if I can find anything I think she'll like.

Date night tonight and off to one of our fave restaurants. What I wear will depend on whether we walk there or cab. I'm secretly hoping it's p'ing down so I can cab and wear heels.

QueenCadbury · 10/05/2014 07:42

just I once bought maternity jeans from TS and they did exactly the same. It's put me off buying from there again.

Drywhiteplease · 10/05/2014 08:00

Her majesty's silver shoes at State Opening of P are bugging me. Should have been gold......think I'll have to write to her Grin

And, I just love fashion, my old motto "seek and ye shall find"

100% cotton dresses at bargain prices cheap , here and here and again ....I prefer the first.

santamarianovella · 10/05/2014 09:41

justa that's very imaginative!, I used to have huge arguments with my mum about the cropped tops I used to wear, she made me wear a tee underneath!

queen etsy and not on the high street sometimes have nice statement kind of necklaces,

dry I like the second dress, I was watching hart of Dixie last night and I could see you dressed as lemon breeland totally your style,

BrandyAlexander · 10/05/2014 09:42

Lovely dresses but they never suit me!

Lib, yes i tried one just like it. I have loved it for ages but it's £12k so I would have to discuss it with dh first. I can already see him pursing lips to say "hell no"Grin

Drywhiteplease · 10/05/2014 09:54

I like that a lot Santa but prefer the pencil style 50s style dresses on me tbh......when ever I try on a full skirt they seen to add inches to my backside.
Novice I have a bad track record with white dresses.....they look like night dresses or Doctors' white coats on me Grin

Fedupnagging · 10/05/2014 11:49

Gorgeous bracelet Novice.

It's probably best not to delve too deeply into my fashion past - a teen in the late 70's early 80's I seem to remember wearing full skirts and cropped tops a la bananarama, made by dm. I would head into habitat and choose whatever fabric took my fancy. My favourite was white background with flowerpots and plants on. Blush.

Also, dm did not let me wear black until I was about 15 - not for young ladies apparently! Obviously I just changed into black at a friends house.

A question - a well known internet lifestyle site is offering vintage designer bags at knock down prices. Opinions, too good to be true or a real bargain?

Fedupnagging · 10/05/2014 11:51

Oh yes, also remember wearing knickerbockers, pixie boots and a hat with a feather in it - in public. Can't imagine what I looked like or what others thought. Double Blush

Secretsquirrel13 · 10/05/2014 12:23

Bet you thought you looked great Fedup!

BlairWaldorfLovesShopping · 10/05/2014 12:46

Dry those white DP dresses look a real bargain, not too thin like you'd expect from cheap cotton. Funnily enough I found a similar one in my wardrobe earlier (Topshop about 5-6 years ago!) which has an open back with a tie up thing. Going to wash it ready for holiday.

fedup I think I know which site you mean - if it's a well established site I'd be inclined to think they're genuine but I'm not sure how they get hold of them. Also I bet they take at least 6 weeks to deliver. Maybe last season's colours?

Matches have sent me a £100 off £300 code. Tempting but sale previews must be in a couple of weeks right?!

Also my-wardrobe have 30% off some Ganni things and Hobbs have 20% off everything this weekend.

Stokey · 10/05/2014 14:25

Love the sapphires Novice

I've got a sapphire engagement ring in honour of DM who is from Sri Lanka - DH spent ages sourcing a lovely one that is about the only expensive piece of jewellery I own. Maybe it's time to get a matching bracelet Grin

Was looking at some school photos in sixth form at the start of the 90s and we all looked a right state - bagging jumpers, torn jeans, DMS and clogs. All my friends look better now - 20 yrs on!

LollipopViolet · 10/05/2014 14:56

Sorry for the link not working, everyone. Silly internet.

It's a top with lace shoulders/sleeves that had a design on the front (think it was a rose - can't remember off the top of my head) in a really gothic style. Looked ace.

Today, I just can't be bothered. I'm not leaving the house so am in old tracksuit bottoms, and old, baggy t-shirt, and socks. No makeup, either.

I'm going through my old clothes, bagging some up to give to charity, so there will be plenty of room for nice new ones, soon eough :)

shopafrolic · 10/05/2014 15:05

OMG we have just bought sofa, footstool and TV.
I need to sit down! Went into store to look at everything and then came home to order online so we get cash back. I think that is the most we have spent in one trip since our wedding list!

LollipopViolet · 10/05/2014 15:08

Ooooh, they're very nice, Shop :)

Drywhiteplease · 10/05/2014 15:44

Fab shopping Shop, love getting house stuff.
this jacket arrived today....it's lovely. Great fit. Like a boiled wool, bit stretchy, lots of external seams and raw edges so not to formal at all. Love it. and looks sweet with jeans and my Disco

Love that Dry - great colour for you

shopafrolic · 10/05/2014 15:57

We're off to a wedding reception tonight and I still have no idea what to wear. The weather is so rubbish!
