Lol my 90s was the same but different, less house more random rave in the woods.

They had an exchange programme, a few went to Manchester U, but I chose Boston. Were you there Shop? We could have been in the same place Grin

Sounds good Lollipop.

OneLittleLady · 09/05/2014 09:41

lollipop i was similar in the nineties being 11 in 1994. I do recall having a pair of shiny sliver satin trousers though Grin

shopafrolic · 09/05/2014 09:53

I was at Manchester Met (formerly Manchester Poly) but left after 2 years - the partying damaged my head and study was impossible! :)

shopafrolic · 09/05/2014 09:53

Stop making me feel so old One :)

QueenCadbury · 09/05/2014 10:03

I had one of those bodies. Wore it with 501s and men's big baggy shirt. I remember it being really hard to do up when pissed. I loved the early 90s at 6th form/uni when I wore long Laura Ashley skirts, cheesecloth blouses, cardigans, docs and beads. I seemed to have so much money at 6th earning £60 a month at my Saturday job. In my last year of uni my style became slightly more grown up and then when I moved to Chelsea I had my head turned by the kings road, Kensington and Knightsbridge on my doorstep and became interested in fashion properly.

Welcome lollipop.

OneLittleLady · 09/05/2014 10:04

Old? You're not old shop Smile

BlairWaldorfLovesShopping · 09/05/2014 10:18

Marsha last night I was thinking of various 90s atrocities, shiny polyester flares, platform trainers, pedalpushers etc Grin Blush Spice Girls style was at its finest during my secondary school years.

So that's not my decade of choice. I think I'd say the 80s - loud clothes, big shapes and bright makeup would have been fun. But I was born in 1986 so I didn't get to experience any of it.

There are bodies in the shops now, I wonder if they still have poppers? There will be another generation of teens trying to do them up while drunk if so and I wonder how you go to the loo in them if not!

MarshaBrady · 09/05/2014 11:05

Excellent love these fashion choices Grin

Bodies were always so damn uncomfortable. Even the new ones look uncomfortable, all that stretch!

MarshaBrady · 09/05/2014 11:06

I reckon a few of us on here would have rocked disco. Grumpy? I could see you in some 70s glam. Sleep?

MarshaBrady · 09/05/2014 11:10

Not that I mean you were around back then, I hasten to add!

Which reminds me, I saw this and thought of Sleep. I can see you in these looks, the leggings, Preen I think.

Sleepwhenidie · 09/05/2014 13:30

Ooh yes Marsha - I would loved to have done the 70's and have had the guts to dress like Amy Adams in American Hustle!

shopafrolic · 09/05/2014 13:30

Sleep could totally rock the American Hustle vibe

Sleepwhenidie · 09/05/2014 13:31

You calling me slutty Shop Grin?

libertychick · 09/05/2014 13:34

QueenC it's a slightly off white but more white than not IYSWIM. It's definitely not cream. The sequins are white, v cool in tone. I immediately thought you'd look great in it when I saw it as I did remember that you had the blue version.

Another 90's girl here. Uni in Dublin from '91 to '94. Lived in baggy jeans, long tie dyed hippy skirts, doc marten boots or desert boots or red converse, paisley shirts, black lace tops, lots of beads. Drank pints of guinness and had very shaggy hair. Cycled everywhere on an ancient sky blue bicycle with a basket at the front. Happy times. Loved Beck, Happy Mondays, Stone Roses, Alinis Morrisette, Nirvana...getting all nostalgic now Smile

libertychick · 09/05/2014 13:36

Sleep you could so rock that look. Sexy and sassy - never that other s word!

shopafrolic · 09/05/2014 13:38

Nope - I'm calling you FABulous x

santamarianovella · 09/05/2014 14:07

I really like the mid 80s-early 90s,big hair big earrings,it looks like a fun era ,ala cindy Crawford and Stephanie Seymour (loved her in the November rain music Video),think I suit that style best,I know that in reality people didnt dress that way but wow,the vogue issues from that time look so beautiful,

I also love the 60s,love Jane birkin boho/ rive gauche style, and Catherine Deneuve both are my ultimate style crush!

I was a teenager in a very bland era,the clothes and pop culture back at mid-late 90s was very uninspiring, I remember all I wanted to dress like ,is Cher from clueless, and like the female cast members from party of five ,and dawsons creek. wish I lived the 80s as a teenager not a child!

LinusDKD · 09/05/2014 14:08

Afternoon!

Just got back from a shopping trip with DM and I am exhausted.

She bought these flats and some gorgeous cream and black Chanel sunglasses.

They had some lovely blue sunglasses at Chanel that were perfect for me but I resisted buying them as I don't really need another pair and I am saving to buy the 2.55.

DM offered to buy them for my birthday (later this year) but when I said I'd rather have to money to put towards the 2.55 she refused because the thinks it's a 'old lady bag'. Hmm

I bought a lovely white (not cream!) and cobalt breton at Petit Bateau, a lipstick at Mac and some By Terry eyeshadow sticks so I was being good.

Now I need a lie down and some vodka and valium

santamarianovella · 09/05/2014 14:12

Don't mix drugs with strong alcohol linus! The 2.55 is not an old lady bag,Shock

LinusDKD · 09/05/2014 14:14

Oh yes, I remeber the shoulder pads and bodies from my early teens.

I blame DM who thought she was Krystle Carrington in Dynasty. I had shoulder pads that I would shove underneath my bra straps and bodies that had poppers that would ping open at the worst possible time.

Thank God for Grunge in my late teens!

LinusDKD · 09/05/2014 14:17

Don't worry santa, I don't have any valium and the vodka isn't cold

Gone are the days we always had a bottle of vodka in the freezer (was usually the only thing in our freezer) Wink

LinusDKD · 09/05/2014 14:20

DM's sunglasses

santamarianovella · 09/05/2014 14:29

Very nice linus,

LinusDKD · 09/05/2014 14:34

Oh and welcome lollipop!

QueenCadbury · 09/05/2014 14:52

Shock at linus dm and 2.55.

Where can I buy jewellery around the £30/40 mark that's not the usual high street. I've checked out stella&dot, outnet, atterly rd, dressing room. Any other suggestions? It's not for me but for a birthday present. She lkes statement-y things rather than delicate jewels.
