What is the difference between chambray and denim?

I ordered a nice J Crew denim shirt yesterday in a dark wash but they also do a lighter one. I think it's called Keeper. Will try and link.

Thanks for asking that Linus. I can't figure out the difference between chambray and denim either - Mig where are you - you can always answer these type of questions?

BTW I have this one from Oasis - bought it quite a while ago. It gets a lot of wear. I'd like another one though, in a darker colour with less obvious buttons.

Was just looking at that one Linus! :) It's £78 here though. I like the light wash.

No idea re denim/chambray - unless it's just that chambray is thinner?

Marsha those plain Sam E flats we liked are in the Shopbop sale.

Goes with lots of things Blair. My favourite outfits with it are with black straight leg Levi curve jeans and a white vest and grey leather converse or red ballet flats. I also really like it with this skirt and these flats for dress down days at work. (BTW again to MrsR who gave me the idea for that particular outfit)

blair I did get it in the sales with an extra discount. I hope it's nice because the last denim shirt I bought I never wore.

It's an Asos one and wasn't £££ but it just looks wrong on me. The wash is not flattering so I need to get rid of it.

Sounds lovely liberty :) I would wear it with a coloured or printed skirt too I think. If i was braver, white jeans.

One of the women I work with wears a denim shirt with a floral pencil skirt Blair and it looks great. I've worn mine with white M&S slim cut chinos - not brave thighs too big enough for white jeans.

Hello all, I have that babyliss brush mara and liberty. It is not a miracle worker but does make a noticeable difference. Normally after blow drying, I have to go over with straighteners to get rid of frizz, but with this I don't. Definitely worth the £30.
I have confessed to my spreadsheet before, and my CPW calculations....

That does sound fab liberty. Unfortunately I don't think I could get away with even a chambray (not denim!) shirt at my work... we don't even have dress down fridays.

linus I have the jimmy choo lower heel black patent pump, think its about the same height as the gianvito r ones you linked. Love the height, wanted the higher ones until the sales lady pointed out that the lower ones looked better as I could actually walk in them.

Am loving today- maison scotch chinos in berry and chambray denim shirt with brogues.
Am complete brogue convert. Loving my snakeskin ones and black patent office ones too. Anyone else wearing brogues ?
