Are you a winter colouring? If so come and join us for chat about clothes/make up following on from part 1 here and part 2 here

Do you want to know more about what a winter is? These resources are good places to start here and here.

Scared to try bright lipstick? Previous winter favourite makeup items include Mac Plumful, Revlon Lip Butters in Berry Smoothie and Red Velvet and Revlon gloss in Bordeaux. They are all good places to start without being scarily bright for a newly diagnosed winter. More makeup tips can be found here and by reading through previous threads.

Some lovely buys from all of you.

I have just done a holiday sort out and realised that I have one dress and two skirts for holiday and thats it. And we go on Saturday morning. And I have work all week. Eek! Some purse friendly-winter pear shaped inspiration needed!

ThePerfectNegroni · 13/07/2014 20:27

GingerLemonTea- what a horrid thoughtless comment. I lived in yoga pants for months. Ignore such stupid people!

pinkflaming0 · 13/07/2014 21:28

Thanks Sorrel - I'm only a 30DD (also small waist btw) so sounds like the S is probably the right size for me.

MrPop · 14/07/2014 08:14

Nice shopping everyone. Mimi I have been looking at wishbone stuff - how do you find the quality? They have a good sale at the moment.

Just a quick question about Mac lipsticks - I know this has been mentioned before, but wondered what colours people have? I have craving and like the lipstick itself, long lasting but not drying. Going through duty free later this week and wondering if I should buy another mac lippy.

So - any recommendations? Thanks

mimiasovitch · 14/07/2014 09:23

Well, the top seems very good quality, though I have yet to wash it. It felt lovely on.

pinkflaming0 · 14/07/2014 20:30

I have plumful MrPop - love it as an everyday colour. It's excellent on me but I am a burnished winter so may not be strong enough a shade if you are a jewel.

fooogle · 14/07/2014 21:47

mrpop I've got craving, party line and girl about town and am wondering about a red but not sure. Russian red is apparently a blue red... blooming loads of lipsticks me Blush

QueenCardigan · 14/07/2014 21:48

Nice top mimi

ginger 3 weeks is still such a short time (congrats by the way). Not sure if this is your first or not but if so it can take a while for everything to shrink back to anything resembling a pre pregnancy stomach.

mrpop I don't own any mac lipsticks cheapskate that I am

I've bought another cardi Blush. It's this one in purple. It's a lovely bright damson colour. I tried it on the other weekend but wasn't sure as I thought it may be a bit summer berry shade but hopefully convinced me to give it a go.

MrPop · 15/07/2014 07:17

Really like the colour of that cardgan QueenC

Pink I think craving is very similar to plumful - its a lovely everyday colour isn't it? I am also a dark winter .

Thanks for those fooogle will check them out.

Found this interesting site:

colour analysis

BittersweetSymphony · 16/07/2014 12:03

QueenC I like the colour of that cardigan.

ThePerfectNegroni · 16/07/2014 15:49

Queen has the cardie arrived yet? I am very tempted by the v neck. I am annoyed with myself for not appreciating Uniqlo when it was in Manchester and it closed down.

QueenCardigan · 16/07/2014 21:28

Yes, the cardi is here. Definitely give the jumper a try.

ThePerfectNegroni · 17/07/2014 14:19

Just got back from Oasis. They are really impressing me with some great winter colours in summery shapes made with natural fibres. I bought
These trousers A good match for number 9 on the swatches (which is 100% ** for me) and the bulk of the pattern is white so a nice bit of contrast. Viscose, which is better than polyester IMHO.
This top which is a good match for number 20 (another 100% *) and made of cotton
This top which is halfway in between 15 and 19, which are both rated 100% / 75%
for me and 100% cotton
Using my student discount it all came to £63.75 in total.

Interestingly I went with my mum and haven't told her about my swatches, although she knows I have had a consultation. She made me try on other things even though I protested they weren't for me, however when I tried on the clothes in the right colours, she knew straight away they were the right ones.

SorrelForbes · 18/07/2014 10:03

I'm enjoying a browse through that site now MissScatterbrain, interesting. I love that red tunic.

ThePerfectNegroni I'm liking Oasis very much at the moment too. I think their prices are reasonable for the quality. DM and DH have always been nagging me to wear brighter clothes, especially blues and reds. How right they were Grin

I like the look of this Toast Breton top. Possibly quite clingy though (I'm usually a 10/12 but their sizing indicates that I'd be a L) and maybe a bit muted?

MissScatterbrain · 18/07/2014 10:38

Jack Wills has a nice breton on sale (for under £20).

I am wearing an Oasis t hsirt in a colour that's between chinese blue and cobalt - forgot what HOC calls it - lagoon blue?

I realise that I seem to prefer the blues, reds and purples in the palette.

MrPop · 18/07/2014 12:49

Nice links from Oasis Negroni - I am tempted by the swatch 20 top - also one of my ** colours. Never really look in Oasis normally.

ThePerfectNegroni · 18/07/2014 15:18

MrPop- I only looked in Oasis because others on here were talking about the chiffon tshirt. I wouldn't normally go in but was pleasantly surprised.

pinkflaming0 · 18/07/2014 16:26

Pink Oasis chiffon t-shirt is a keeper - wore it to work yesterday with navy cropped trousers, pewter sandals and what are becoming my signature bright pink nails (fingers & toes).

Quite fancy the damson t-shirt - have nothing in that colour and it's a ** at 75% for me.

Really must pop in to a store and check it out - no somewhere I usually shop but they seem to have some good colours for us as the moment.

IsItFridayYetPlease · 19/07/2014 13:21

Has anyone seen any red tops (in the right shade for us winters)?

SorrelForbes · 19/07/2014 13:29

A nice red top is this Mango one which I've linked to before like a stuck record. There's only a 10 left in the red but I've got a 10 and it's labelled as a Medium and fits me fine (10/12, 30GG).

Are these a really bad idea?

IsItFridayYetPlease · 19/07/2014 13:37

The red top looks lovely, but a bit too shapeless / boxy for me (plus I'm about a size 14 / 16 Sad )

So when would you wear those shorts Sorrel ?

SorrelForbes · 19/07/2014 13:56

It's honestly not boxy at all. I can't wear anything that isn't shaped as I'm very curvy. It's nicely shaped on the waist (when not draped over a size 6 model!).

I have no idea and I don't have the legs either

BittersweetSymphony · 19/07/2014 23:07

Not sure if this a stupid question but theoretically could you dye your hair any of your wow colours or wouldn't it work? I can't decide whether I can get away with doing it a raspberry colour or not?

I'm a sprinter winter if that affects it?

NowhereNow · 19/07/2014 23:09

I have a lovely, light, cotton jacket/parka from M&S that is a perfect shape for me but unfortunately it's khaki with brass zip/toggles. I spotted this as a possible replacement:

Mint Velvet Slate Parka

It turned up today & is actually q close to mole rather than any of the greys. I've reluctantly decided to return it mostly because it was a bit too big, but also as it's dry clean only & my consultant said to stick to mole below waist. I have double stars at 100 for black, charcoal & navy so hopefully can find something similar in one of those colours.
