Are you a winter colouring? If so come and join us for chat about clothes/make up following on from part 1 here and part 2 here

Do you want to know more about what a winter is? These resources are good places to start here and here.

Scared to try bright lipstick? Previous winter favourite makeup items include Mac Plumful, Revlon Lip Butters in Berry Smoothie and Red Velvet and Revlon gloss in Bordeaux. They are all good places to start without being scarily bright for a newly diagnosed winter. More makeup tips can be found here and by reading through previous threads.

Well I bought those sandals, but am unsure now as the description lists them as red. I guess until I see them in the flesh I won't know. I really shouldn't get carried away on my phone at lunchtime.

pinkflaming0 · 02/07/2014 23:05

Love the Oasis top

QueenCadbury · 03/07/2014 12:51

I've been stalking this bag and ordered it this morning. Hoping it will be lagoon blue rather than turquoise.

ItHasANiceRingWhenYouLaugh · 03/07/2014 21:55

Jaeger has some nice ice colours in their sale

SorrelForbes · 03/07/2014 22:49

I like the Black silk stretch dress on the Jaeger site but I'm resisting at the moment!

I have a night out looming and I think I'm going to wear these trousers but in black and white not grey. What colour top? Not sure whether to play it safe with white/black or brave something in hot pink or similar. High heels obviously (got to slim my thighs somehow!).

MissScatterbrain · 04/07/2014 07:48

Fab trousers Sorrel - hot pink, cobalt, purple & emerald would all look amazing with these.

QueenCadbury · 04/07/2014 17:26

Ooh yes sorrell go jewel coloured with those says she who would wear with navy or black and you'll look fabulous.

My banana republic bag arrived and v happy with it. An almost match with Chinese blue so fabulous for me. Really like it with cobalt and purple.

I'm meeting friends in London tomorrow but have a couple of hours shopping. Will report back on any winter finds...

MissScatterbrain · 04/07/2014 18:35

That bag looks gorgeous. Enjoy London.

Have bought my first winter purchase - a cashmere jumper from Boden when they had their 30% sale a couple of weeks ago. Its black so not very exciting but extremely practical Grin

Hello again. Ive been reading a bit more. I'm pretty sure I am a clear winter.

Just out of interest Im currently watching the Scandal box set from on demand. The main character always looks v v stylish (Olivier) I realised she wears quite a limited pallet.

Then I also noticed the other character Quinn Perkins (a pale brunette) wears a lot of blue in particular cobalt blue.

Ive been thinking how polished these women look without looking like a dogs dinner so to speak. They look well groomed.

Ive been looking at some of the links of items. I suspect Im a bit curvier than some of you but have been taking note of the colour choices.

I've decided to order a red dress -

www.marksandspencer.com/elastic-front-shift-dress/p/p22314636?colour=Red

I know this isnt everyones cup of tea but I already have this dress bright turquoise and dark blue, almost navy. Its a great price, they wash well, put on hanger needs no ironing. Ive worn dressed up with heals and opagues or long leggings and flats. Its a really easy to wear dress for me and my shape.

ItHasANiceRingWhenYouLaugh · 05/07/2014 15:20

I also watch the Good Wife with an eye to the wardrobe as the aim character is definitely a winter. Smile

MrPop · 06/07/2014 08:18

Talking about sandals to wear with skirts, I tried these on at asda:

navy

black

Not leather, and a bit too narrow for my wide foot, but think they are a good buy.

andsmile I like that dress, my kind of thing. How long is it?

andsmile · 06/07/2014 10:39

Mr Pop Im 5'8" and it is just on knee. So easy to wear.

They have it in grey too which I will be wearing with denim jacket and a naice bright scarf (my favourite bit chosing the scarf!) and mid top trainers (see link below) But I wouldnt heistate to dress up with black - planning a black leather jacket for Autumn

La Redoute wrap over dresses in the sale. They have lots of jewel colours. Ive ordered this one but not sure how 'drapey' it will be. (£17.70)

www.laredoute.co.uk/long-sleeved-wrapover-dress-in-bamboo-viscose/prod-324415956-738313.aspx

Those slimmer arm/leg showing people may like some of their other dresses too. They have some bright purples and cobalt wrap over dresses without gather or drapey bits for 8.50 - hope they have your size!

andsmile · 06/07/2014 10:40

Ive ordered steel blue dress btw - that link goes to brown one.

mimiasovitch · 06/07/2014 11:36

Love that blue dress. Am trying valiantly to resist. At least until
I get home anyway Wink

MrPop · 06/07/2014 12:33

Lovely links and thanks for the info about length andsmile

This month's glamour magazine has some free clinique products, including 2 chubby sticks. I've bought one - 07 super strawberry - which is a similar colour to mac craving. Think I will buy the other which is a pale pink. Not bad for £2 magazine cost and they are almost full size.

SorrelForbes · 06/07/2014 18:54

Free lipsticks?! I'm tempted to put my bra back on and drive over to the Co-op to buy a copy of Glamour.

andsmile · 06/07/2014 18:56

You are welcome mrpop

Hi Sorrel you were right about that fatfae dress - overall muddled colour not strong enough. It's gong back. Ive kept a black halter neck one though.

GingerLemonTea · 06/07/2014 20:12

Bought this

pink charm

Has arrived, very pleased with it, just clipped it onto a silver bangle. Adds a little pop of colour.

SorrelForbes · 06/07/2014 20:13

andsmile Thanks for the update. I tend to avoid Fat Face since I had my colours done!

I've just ordered these in navy from the Boden sale - 40% off. I've had my eye on them for a while but thought they were a bit pricey.

GingerLemonTea · 06/07/2014 20:19

Also bought these....

HoC Winters- the cool and clear chat continues here Part 3
GingerLemonTea · 06/07/2014 20:41

Bought this, it's a brighter pink in real life....

Oasis casual top

I seem to be able to only copy & paste one link at a time. If I leave this page to add another, my message disappears, any ideas?

IsItFridayYetPlease · 06/07/2014 20:43

"I'm tempted to put my bra back on" Grin

SorrelForbes · 06/07/2014 20:46

GingerLemonTea I saw that Oasis top in store but didn't think that the background colour was white enough for me. Nice top though.

Have you got multiple tabs open in your internet browser?

GingerLemonTea · 06/07/2014 20:49

Cute top, 100% cotton...

pink Oasis top

GingerLemonTea · 06/07/2014 21:40

Sorrel there was 2 instore & online. One included cream & one had white. Similar designs, not sure which is which.
Just 2 tabs open I think.
