Are you a winter colouring? If so come and join us for chat about clothes/make up following on from part 1 here and part 2 here

Do you want to know more about what a winter is? These resources are good places to start here and here.

Scared to try bright lipstick? Previous winter favourite makeup items include Mac Plumful, Revlon Lip Butters in Berry Smoothie and Red Velvet and Revlon gloss in Bordeaux. They are all good places to start without being scarily bright for a newly diagnosed winter. More makeup tips can be found here and by reading through previous threads.

kosher that's stressful. Don't know about the rules. Can you call up then and ask?
I order loads online too and do worry about the money tied up before I've sent it all back too :-(
Ordered lots from house of fraser but poss keeping only mango red t top as linked (sorry can't recall who!!). Coats by yanny London and pied a terre just not that great. Somehow there's not quite the glamour unpacking creased stuff either but I'm sure that won't stop me!
Best buy now has been Paul smith (mens) merino cardi in a good match for scarlet for £7 from charity shop! Not sure about my lotta rip off clogs. Scared they look very clumpy and not kooky retro but just bad...

QueenCadbury · 10/05/2014 07:35

Oh kosher that's a nightmare but surely they can just pay your new card. Maybe phone the credit card company and the stores you ordered from and explain.

KosherBacon · 10/05/2014 08:21

Well John Lewis have agreed to refund on to a different card. I can't get hold of Toast and Phase 8 until Monday :(

MrPop · 10/05/2014 08:34

Kosher they should be able to refund onto your new card - it is not the account that is closed after all. Maybe you should speak to your credit card company to see what they advise in the meantime. Cards are usually issued fairly promptly I think?

KosherBacon · 10/05/2014 09:18

I've given the visa debit card that's from the account where the credit card comes out of. Massive fingers crossed for Toast (actually open from 10am today) and Phase 8.

I'm going to London on Tuesday for a boozy lunch and was planning on doing some "oops the cocktails made me shop" shopping (I've been eyeing up some furla bags). If I can't sort out the other refunds then that is off the cards.

I love your style of shopping kosher Grin. Don't stress too much, I'm sure it'll be fine.

GingerLemonTea · 10/05/2014 12:11

First real shopping trip yesterday since my HoC day about a year ago. It was easy even tho I'm 8 months pregnant, managed to get several items that were missing from my wardrobe. They fit just now, am mainly bump and will hopefully do for the next year or until I shrink a bit.
Will post them if I can find, but can't see them all online....

H&M top £3.99 in white & blue
top match for white & no.11

Parka in a pocket from Primark £9, match for 8 or 12 (purple)

KosherBacon · 10/05/2014 14:25

So it turns out that my credit card has been in DHs back pocket all along. Harrumph.

Aaaargh Kosher! How frustrating!

Fooogle remind me, was it some Lotta clogs you bought, or similar? I have 2 pairs of Lotta and think they look good. Will see if I can find some pin looks for you!

Ginger you are brave to be shopping for post pregnancy with an 8 month bump! I bought loads of normal clothes when pregnant but actually ended up having to get rid of most of it as it actually didn't work when I had the chance to try them on properly.

Have booked onto a style day for late Aug. Its a bit naughty as I haven't mentioned it to DH and we recently had a chat about reducing spending, but it only has to be paid for a month before, so am hoping things are a bit more settled then. I can always cancel if not.

MrPop · 10/05/2014 14:36

Some clog looks

laidback

girly

with skirt

dungarees!

70s mama

with tights -love this for winter

with jeans

GingerLemonTea · 10/05/2014 17:15

jeggings

Got these in soft grey & black. Already have them in navy. All the stuff fits me now Mr Pop. It's not maternity wear. I just wear the jeggings under the bump & the tops are stretchy. Only got a few weeks to go so wanted some stuff to feel good in once baby is here & outfits that are easy to put together.

GingerLemonTea · 10/05/2014 17:21

Also got navy cardigan from h&m £9.99 - can't see on website

Navy maternity top from H&M £12.99

Also recently 3x basic vest tops mentioned up thread from Tu at Sainsburys in white, blue & pink.

White canvas with red & navy trim (like converse) shoes from sainsburys for £8.

Feeling smarter. Going to have a toddler & new baby so now on the lookout for maybe a grey xbody bag & a black xbody.

GingerLemonTea · 10/05/2014 17:22

Have a question, I've heard you all mention the actual colours such as lobelia.
My wallet just has numbers next to the swatches. Is this info somewhere else? Is it in the booklet given on the day that I have filed somewhere?

SorrelForbes · 10/05/2014 18:28

Yes the info us in the white book along with the */ gradings

Fooogle · 10/05/2014 19:38

mrpop thanks for pins.think I was stingey as bought some from Bjorn clogs [http://www.bjornclogs.co.uk/product_info.php?id=1634 clogs] they're nice but perhaps a bit less elegant somehow than the lotta ones but that may just be branding!
Will maybe practice. They were 37£ all in I think so maybe just a less learnt!

Fooogle · 10/05/2014 19:38

www.bjornclogs.co.uk/product_info.php?id=1634 oops

GingerLemonTea · 11/05/2014 11:53

Debenhams sale on. Just spent £247.00! Eek. At least £80 will be going back though as I have ordered 3 black xbody bags, but will be keeping one.
Also got 3x pjs for me.
One white xbody bag.

I seem to be on a roll!

GingerLemonTea · 11/05/2014 12:07

Won't bother linking the pj's but her is the white crossbody bag....

white bag

pinkflaming0 · 11/05/2014 20:52

I've seen different types of winter mentioned but I've not been able to find any information defining them all. I'm partly just curious but also when someone says they are a sultry winter I wonder if that's the same as a burnished winter (which is what I am). The types I've heard of are:

jewel
sprinter
deep
sultry
burnished

Anyone know if this is this the full list and whether they are defined anywhere?

Fooogle · 13/05/2014 10:33

Yes sorry Pink I don't know either. I have heard of all those options too. Quite a range!

May try and ask my HOC lady, do you email yours at all or did you have your colours done ages back or self diagnosed?

Fooogle · 13/05/2014 11:39

cardi bit too twee?
coat very odd shape
coat2 not very exciting
mango top great scarlet
top feels horrid
and various other bits! All going back which my credit card will be very happy about I think! May keep red top though am worried I will get hot in it as its synthetic. Have you tried yours sorrel?

SorrelForbes · 13/05/2014 13:50

No not yet. I've only just got round to giving it an iron!

pinkflaming0 · 13/05/2014 21:50

Fooogle the burgundy coat looks lovely online - what's wrong with the shape?

I'm still tempted by the Mango top in blue but have spent enough too much on my holiday wardrobe for first sunshine holiday in 14 years. Got a bit over excited Grin

Was diagnosed in March so I will email my consultant about the burnished/sultry thing.

Yes I was excited about the coat! It's just a mad shape, think it refers as a cape and so is sort of hangs very wide from shoulder yoke? Belt is also scarf (!?) so no loops and kinda bulky on waist once belted. Nice material though and good if not a bit odd a coat colour.
