Showered and then sprayed with Amyris Femme by Kurkdjian.This is a really pretty floral with a faint whisper of Oud.I really like this.
Myrtle, Oud perfumes are the latest big thing and are in virtually every range.Lots in House of Fraser's,Selfridge's and Lewis's( even in the body shop).Alternatively order a sampler from Surrender To Chance.

Are there any specific ones you could recommend?

No worries- as long as you got them! I hate to think of lost samples! No worries about the Santal either. I just like to share the joy!

SOTD Fig by Aftelier- very nice but not very figgy.

Yesterday's Imperial Tea lasted until teatime, albeit in a very subtle way. Today, I am wearing another Kilian: this time it is Sacred Wood. This one has to be the strongest sandalwood I have ever smelt, and reminds me of going to the mandir, with incense burning and prashad being given out. It is now weathering into something less eye watering, but still lovely. I have high hopes that it will last.

SOTD is my Miller Harris Fleur Oriental sample. Absolutely beautiful and I think it will be a must-buy.

Re oudy smells, I think I will get some Arabian oud perfume - so much cheaper.

Lots of gorgeous sounding perfumes today! MyrtleDove I'm very intrigued by Attars and oils, there is so much to choose from though I just wouldn't know where to start.

SOTD is 4160 Tuesdays Time to draw the raffle numbers- an odd combo of gourmand and rubber but actually rather addictive.

Boo, Sacred Wood has all but disappeared

Was going to say that we were having a religious day on here, until Fuzz posted about her bingo caller SOTD! The Fleur Oriental sounds heavenly, by the way Myrtle.

My JM gardenia has arrived so that will be tomorrow...

SOTD this morning was Aqua Universalis which lasted an hour( I wonder whether the Forte is any better?).Then YSL's In Love Again which will be followed by Kurkdjian Apom Femme when needed.Most of the scents I like don't seem to have much staying power.
Science Kilians Rose Oud lasts reasonably well.Good girl Gone Bad is lovely but fleeting.
Myrtle try some Ouds on The Nose website.There are several you can sample even amongst the Kilian perfumes.The only one I've tried so far is Rose Oud and I really like it.

Wearing Cinnabar today - a spicy monster, this one is. I love it.

Fleur Oriental is indeed heavenly - love the carnation.

Cunt I love Cinnabar, it's gorgeous and IMO very underrated. The not very glam bottle compared to Shalimar etc probably doesn't help! I love how it's not very sweet at all though (at least not on me).

On me, and in the best possible way, during the dry down it smells like a ploof of baby powder in the elephant house at the zoo. Powdery but with a hint exotic danger beneath.

Hmm on me Cinnabar is distinctly floral underneath all the spice, which is quite unusual for me - usually my skin turns floral notes into powder! It is quite powdery-spicy though. Clearly, carnation is a good note for me!

I wish Chanel Coco didn't have coriander in it, as I'm pretty sure now that it's that and not the aldehydes that makes Chanel No5 smell horrendous on me I tried Rive Gauche again to see how the aldehydes would be, and actually it was OK - very powdery and not really me, but not awful like Chanel No5 is on me. Chanel No5 smells like rotten flowers on me for some reason.

I struggle with Chanel No 5 too - oddly, I prefer the Eau Premiere version, but that only last five minutes.

Today I'm wearing Paris. Which I've just discovered I don't like. Bummer.

Sprayed myself rather heavily with Amyris Femme this morning.The DC's were complaining bitterly.I have a chest infection/cold so can barely smell anything.However this perfume really lifts my spirits on a really wet miserable day.
Chanel No 5 is awful on me too , in fact all the Chanels seem to smell horrible on me.I used to wear Paris and reek of Rive Gauche when I was a teenager.Paris to me smells a little old fashioned now but I still like the Rose scent from it.

Today I am wearing Chanel Mademoiselle. Like I always do. I cannot ever imagine using anything else!

Have just ordered a Tindrer sample Fuzz

SOTD is Keiko Mecheri Crystal d'Ambre - a free sample from Libertys.

It's fine, bit too powdery for my tastes at first but now has mellowed to nice warm vanilla/amber. But it is not strong enough to counter the eau de Lynx of the guy sitting in front of me!

Toomuchtea I love the original Miss Dior and it used to be my favourite work scent, it made me feel like Miss Moneypenny. Efficient yet glamorous

Thank you too as Chypre Mousse arrived today, so happy to have more of this.

Stokey I hope you like it! The other Magnetic Scents I've tried are great too.

SOTD is Forbidden Games by Kilian, very nice but the Kilians just don't seem to sing to me. This one reminds me a lot of J'adore...

I have one of the Magnetic scents- the Jasmine one.Really does smell like 100% Jasmine absolute with an initial bitter whiff of cacao.If any of you want to swop with me I would be happy to do so - its not really my thing.I've also sampled several Kurkdjian scents.I love Femme Amyris,not keen on Absolute Pour Le Matin ,Le Soir, would swop.
Byredos Bal d'Afrique tonight.Really really love this- its so different to my usual florals- just so spicy and deliciously tangy.Have dosed myself up with Ibuprofen and Whisky.

sotd was essence de patchouli.very long lasting,friend commented on it over six hours after application
