I felt fuzzy on the train if it helps!Grin

The cake looks so awesome. Check your email. I can almost forgive myself for the obscene cost of it....thank goodness Sleep made me feel better!

Bonsoir · 09/02/2014 07:26

Maradesbois - Black clutches can look very elegant, that's for sure. I have a red Marni clutch a friend gave me recently and I'm not at all sure when I'm going to use it! I shall have to engineer an evening outfit to coordinate with it - said friend is part of my inner circle of close friends so often shows up at the same events so I need to show it off at least once in the near future!

BecauseIsaidS0 · 09/02/2014 07:29

Are there pictures of the MU?

I'm wearing an acid yellow and pink bikini from Pistol Panties and a pink sarong with gold details on top. Was a bit worried about cultural appropriation (hmmm not sure I have spelt that correctly) but so far the Balinese people around seem to like it.

shopafrolic · 09/02/2014 07:48

Morning all. No pics Because sorry.
Hope the party goes well Novice and the cake tastes amazing!
Dry how was your dinner party?
Off to a naming ceremony today. New Me&em dress think. Weather is absolutely lousy here, horrible stormy night:(

Sleepwhenidie · 09/02/2014 08:00

Hi everyone, great MU yesterday...did we get that last bottle of prosecco on the house Confused? Definitely didn't need it, I was falling asleep on the sofa at 7pm! Lovely to see you all, hair looking particularly gorgeous Shop and Liberty - Novice as chic as ever! Greta to catch up. How was your evening Shop?

Sleepwhenidie · 09/02/2014 08:01

Oh yes, hope the party goes well Novice!

LinusDKD · 09/02/2014 08:29

Have a great party today novice!

shopafrolic · 09/02/2014 09:19

Evening was lovely Sleep thanks. DH had taken DS out all day so they were both in a lovely mood when I got home. Then DH and I had a nice dinner together and a catch up.

shopafrolic · 09/02/2014 09:21

Re: the prosecco I think we must have done Sleep - I couldn't figure out how we had starters, main, tea, and 4 bottles of prosecco for £44 pp otherwise? But then DH thought that was ££££ Hmm - good thing I sold some bits on EBay yesterday!

BlairWaldorfLovesShopping · 09/02/2014 10:03

Morning all! Glad to hear the MU went well - 4 bottles of prosecco sounds lovely :)

Went to the Bullring yesterday and I got this Zara top which will hopefully be nice for work in the summer with trousers.

Then spent ages dragging DP, my sister and her boyfriend around the top floor of selfridges. I admired the Disco on behalf of Dry and stroked all the Celines, Givenchys, Balenciagas...

Saw some banana yellow Pistols which were gorgeous but you would probably look like you had bananas on your feet.

Today I have hit up Peter Pilotto for Target and bought dress for summer, skirt for work and shoes. Was only going to get the dress but since The Frugality said the quality was very good I thought I'd try the other bits. If anyone has any styling ideas for the skirt or shoes it would be much appreciated, assuming they fit!

novice have a great party later.

BrandyAlexander · 09/02/2014 11:21

Morning everyone! Thanks for good wishes.Smile Just running into town now (in the car that has tax and motHmm) to get the last bits and pieces! Dd hasn't seen cake yet. She will be stoked.

Shop, just about to pm you!

BrandyAlexander · 09/02/2014 11:28

By the way quick bit of fashion thing....

me & Em basic long tee is fab! I almost sent it back because it was £21 and I am cheap about tees. Wearing it today and it was well worth it!

AmberNectarine · 09/02/2014 11:41

I ordered a Peter Pilotto tee - wanted the black and white skirt but sold out in my size. Was tempted by the shoes but am going to get the leopard print Carvela skate shoes instead I think...

Umlauf · 09/02/2014 11:43

Urgh, blair do you know about their sizing. The dress I wanted comes in small, medium, large etc. I guess I want a 10-12.. Help!

OneLittleLady · 09/02/2014 12:09

Have pinned my new (very cheap) jeans to my 2014 purchases board, would love opinions, DP loves them, my sister hates them Grin

Umlauf · 09/02/2014 12:34

Yep, sold out. Yawn! They could at least show the sizes as sold out before you add to basket. I meant to wake up early but I'm so spectacularly hungover after 13 months of not drinking Blush I really wanted that wrap skirt too amber and am still considering the shoes! they're the same price as the m&s ones, but I do love my toms for that sort of thing...

My party was lovely though and my lovely friends clubbed together to buy me spa and massage vouchers and a Balenciaga silk scarf (not online as it's one of the birthplace museum ones.)

Drywhiteplease · 09/02/2014 16:31

Unlauf paracetamol, Dairy milk, orange juice , my favourite hangover cure. But if that fails a few swigs of Calpol do a good job too.
shop dinner went really well thanks ....no hangover here which is surprising!
Some lovely fashion....leather skinnies with killer heels looked fierce on one guest. I really liked the one woman I'd never met before. I realised that perhaps fashion is the equivalent of sport for some people, it's a great ice breaker and not a "so what do you do" crappy introduction which I hate. This lady hates shopping Shock so meets a personal dresser twice a year who sorts her out, starting in Liberty and them off to various other stores in London. She even sorts hairdresser and make up. She's very good because the result was fantastic and very chic in a quite edgy way. Made me think about style days differently.

Turquoiseblue · 09/02/2014 17:19

Oh lord - super night out but worst hangover ever - one where the hang over woke me at 5.39 and couldn't get back to sleep! Feeling slightly more human now, diarolapyte green tea toast, coffee ,dairy milk ,paracetamol, ...... Bracing cycle into the wind and home by the fire now.
Happy birthday umlauf, hope you re feeling better now, lovely present s. Pin a piccie of the scarf?
Dry - like you I m coming around to leather trousers - they should be due to go right out of fashion now then? Like your friends approach to fashion.

Am pretty much on a no spend for a while as due it Christmas and birthday presents etc feels like I m sorted for a while now though the PP stuff is nice - (just can't get my head around NaP selling 'target'. ) would love last years red Marant jacket .... If anyone sees it anywhere... Let me know?

Who was wondering about the Marni clutch? I have it, love it, it s completely versatile.

Decameron gorgeous bag. I have a lot of stuff I d like to ebay, must get started I haven't before. Think I m ready to say goodbye to mulberry and Stella bags,... Have you sold bags on ebay?

This tablet.hm.com/ie/product/22088?article=22088-Bshirt is lovely in reality am wearing it with Paige skinnies today

BlairWaldorfLovesShopping · 09/02/2014 17:59

Sorry Umlauf I was busy all day and didn't check the thread until now :( NAP give "exact" measurements of things which can be good but I did have to guess sizes, so we'll see. Keep an eye out for returns?

Amber River Island have a really nice pair of (real) pony hair leopard print slip on trainers which are £45 (IIRC the Carvela ones are £95?) - no idea re quality but I had my eye on them before I bought the PP ones. Might be worth a look!

Oh forgot to say, FINALLY found those M&S black/white/floral shoes in an actual shop and tried them on. They were really nice in the flesh and looked good on, but were a bit too narrow for me in the size that fitted the length of my feet.

GrumpyOldHorsewoman · 09/02/2014 18:38

Evening!

Still alive, but a little bit tired. Not as tired as DD who managed 3 hours sleep and has been a proper grumpus since her friends left. I dragged her to the races with me, fed her lunch and allowed her to collect the trophy for our winner and she's now wallowing in a warm bath and preparing for an early night.

Don't know if it's the tiredness, but trawling through my favourite blogs and happened upon these miu miu shoes and feel love.
Although I'm still under heavy restraint Wink

LinusDKD · 09/02/2014 19:01

Evening!

We were out all morning so I missed the whole PP bonanza on NaP and by the time I had a look there was only one tee left that looked nice and was available in my size.

I put it in my shopping bag but then I thought about the fact that I don't usually like collaborations and that NaP p&p would add even more to the total so I walked away.

one we'll need to see an action pic of those jeans before we can give our verdict.

grumpy those shoes are nice but the embellished heel and bow combo is a bit OTT for me.

After I got out of my ski trousers (only went sledging today) I put on the first pair of jeans I could find which are an ancient pair of Uniqlo jeans bought when we still lived on London and which I haven't been able to fit in for years.

The good news is that they fit (and are even too big), the bad news is that they are bootcut and after nearly a year of only wearing skinnies and my Jimmies, they are really not flattering.

I tried to turn up the trouserlegs to make them into boyfriends but it just didn't work.

Drywhiteplease · 09/02/2014 19:41

Oh Grumpy I'm having major racing shoe panic.
My friend who invited us came last night and reiterated what you said about comfy shoes but I have 2 types of shoe: flats for work and heels for going out. There's no way I can wear wedges with my dress, what on earth do I wear? Oh yes they have to be pewter......
MNV you have 3 months to find me a gorgeous comfy pewter shoe.......Does it exist?
IHAVE MAJOR PROBLEMS!!!

And Turquoise I agree about leather trousers! bet they'll be out by next autumn if I get some Grin

OneLittleLady · 09/02/2014 19:57

I swear linus the jeans look good, if only in a slightly ironic kinda 90's way! Tried to get a pic tonight as I've actually got them on now but the light in here is terrible in an evening, will try tomorrow if I decide to wear them again

LinusDKD · 09/02/2014 20:03

Not quite pewter and only a few sizes left
