I wish I could have come down for the MU but too much going on at home that needs my attention so i can't slope off for a day out on my own for a good while yet. I will hopefully be able to get down to London towards the end of the year if you ladies are up for a MU then Smile

Umlauf · 08/02/2014 17:42

Ooh she has my pram... linus ha!

I've spent all day cooking and cleaning for my birthday dinner party. Now I'm going through the oh-god-nobody's-going-to-turn-up stage! 2 good friends broke up today so they're both out... Gah!!

Hope you had a fabulous time at the MU.

How is everyone else's weekend?

OneLittleLady · 08/02/2014 17:45

My weekend is quiet apart from having to give another statement to the police about that beggar guy harassing me. I'm happy though that they are taking me seriously and they said today that if he approaches me again and I feel threatened then I'm to call 999 as it IS an emergency. Hopefully I won't encounter him again and I will not be scared to go out anymore

BrandyAlexander · 08/02/2014 17:48

Oooh check me out, last to leave!

Was that your blouse on Liberty?! Ohhh. She looked lovely.

Shop looks very chic in the yak jumper. Would love to be able to do her hairstyle Envy

Sleep had gorgeous outfit esp trousers. Very rock chick. Sorry for implying we were the same height - I forget I am rather short Grin

Fab time as usual. You're such fab ladies. Dh is expecting me to roll in drunk and late. He will be somewhat surprised to see me this early!

MarshaBrady · 08/02/2014 18:07

Mu sounds fabulous. Am Envy at bottles of fizz - and the whole thing. But I know I would have wanted to join in so good thing I didn't fly by.

At Heathrow. Still get this skip of excitement at international travel (yep ask me that again in 24 hours Wink)

Going to get some Chanel / Lancôme goodies.

MarshaBrady · 08/02/2014 18:08

Umlauf is it your birthday today? Happy birthday if so! Have a lovely dinner party.

Umlauf · 08/02/2014 18:10

Monday marsha but thank you Smile

I love airport lounges, they throng with the promise of adventure! Have fun!!!

BrandyAlexander · 08/02/2014 18:16

We missed you Marsha! Aren't you there really early??!! I thought flights were at around 9pm? Are you going via HK or via SG?

MarshaBrady · 08/02/2014 18:20

Novice we are here disgracefully early Blush, the dc got cabin fever waiting to go so we thought wth let's go. We are usually early but this time takes the biscuit.

Good one on knowing flights! Grin

LinusDKD · 08/02/2014 18:29

Sounds like the MU was a success! Hope to be able to make it one day.

grumpy Wine by the bucketloads for you tonight!

marsha I am always early at the airport as well, it drives DH bonkers.

I just like to have the whole check-in/security ordeal over with so I can relax and do some duty free shopping in peace and quiet

BrandyAlexander · 08/02/2014 18:32

Blimey my dh would want to shove your dh aside and marry you on the spot if he heard you can be that early for a flight!!

MarshaBrady · 08/02/2014 18:34

Lol Novice! Grin

Me too Linus I quite like it here Grin

Now the food challenge begins. Carb-city!

LinusDKD · 08/02/2014 18:47

novice Grin

DH isn't too bad and is always on time but I just HATE being late for anything.

Even now I have DC I am nearly always early.

Just started having a look at Milk magazine online and the children's online shops mentioned and I can already see I will become obsessed.

Bonsoir · 08/02/2014 18:55

Mara - I'm a diehard Marni fan and much prefer the Marni clutch to the Gucci but I wonder why you want a black clutch? If you want a go-with-anything clutch, silver would be more fun.

Had a MiLK magazine moment when I suggested to DD (9) after what was for her a boring lunch in the Cafe de Flore that we check out the brand new SS14 collection in Soeur (aka Parisian tween heaven). She chose an uber cute white lace dress and a frilled Liberty print one-shouldered top. DP just rolls his eyes...

LinusDKD · 08/02/2014 19:35

bonsoir I wonder how DD and DS will turn out clothes/fashion wise.

Whether they will be interested or not, what their style is going to be and whether I will like it or not.

I have always had a very different style from DM and that resulted in some interesting shopping trips when I was a teenager and even in my early twenties as she paid for my clothes.

I have noticed though that the older I get, the more DM and I agree on clothes. I guess she is starting to tone it down a bit and I am getting a bit more adventurous so we meet somewhere in the middle.

Mignonette · 08/02/2014 19:37

Safe travels Marsha. I'm another early bird- the holiday starts the moment the cases are in the taxi I think. Love airports- all human life is there and some.

We've just roughed out our next expedition. Flying to SE Germany for five days then flight to Barcelona and drive down to Mothers house in the SE. We'll stop overnight en route so as to enjoy the journey. Ten days in the SE with trips to the national park near Seville, a couple of days in Seville then flight back to LHR. We never use Ryanair- shitty company, shitty baggage allowance, vowed never to use them again after somebody left an unattended briefcase on the seats next to ours, walked off and the attendants were more concerned with not doing anything to delay the flight rather than check out the security breach. Took threats of making a big fuss to get them to tannoy and investigate.

Maredebois

Good choice. The Merci clutches are gorgeous and inexpensive enough to impulse buy as an extra yet chic enough to pass as more luxe.

Bonsoir · 08/02/2014 19:44

Linus - DD has always been interested in her clothes! When she was little she wanted to dress like me....
These days she wants to dress like a teenager - skinny cords with zips, Uggs or ankle boots with a hidden heel, endless variations on t-shirts and hoodies... And super long swishy hair... I'm hoping that if I indulge her tween dream tendencies now that she won't be frustrated and will grow out of fashion and find her own style sooner rather than later.

shopafrolic · 08/02/2014 19:50

dry what help on pin? Where's it gone? What did I miss?

shopafrolic · 08/02/2014 19:52

Bugger - you must be entertaining by now.

maradesbois · 08/02/2014 20:18

bonsoir while I get your point re silver clutch being a bit more adventurous but still going with everything I know I'll use black a lot more. Don't actually own a single black bag apart from (lost) smythson clutch so its not like am overly dependent on it. Your afternoon in Paris sounds lovely by the way, left bank shopping, the call of the Bon marché...

mignonette you don't need to convince me, am sold on the merci as an 'extra' bag! Am just going to check with them first re colours.

Signing off for the evening now to crack open a bottle of champagne with dh after a tough week. Cheers!

Annianni · 08/02/2014 20:33

I've just had the vilest thing ever in my mouth...
and Shop I'm not being rude for a change

Waitrose popcorn with chocolate and almond.
M&S popcorn with chocolate is lovely.

The Waitrose version is Envy

libertychick · 08/02/2014 20:38

Oh my word - I was drunk leaving that MU! Was it obvious???? I dosed off on the Tube and missed the stop where I was supposed to change so had to back track and then was in a daze on the bus and didn't remember to get off at the stop nearest my house so just continued to the town centre and got a taxi back Blush Blush Blush - sobering up now.
Everyone looked gorgeous and great chat, I'd have happily stayed all night.

Liberty that's hilarious! I didn't notice! Worse than that, I feel fine Hmm

BrandyAlexander · 08/02/2014 21:39

Oh Liberty, that's properly funny! I feel fine though realise I must by default have drank a bottle of fizz. I feel really full though. I love that place, decent food portions and decent price.

I was just getting all my party bags ready and got to the boys party bags and realised that what I thought I ordered and what I actually got are 2 different things! Entirely my fault for being a Wally! Also, I thought I had enough sweets left over from Christmas to do the party bags but the munchkins (and I include dh in this!) have been at them so I am short. A quick trip to town tomorrow morning methinks. I was feeling so chuffed at being so organised as well!

libertychick · 08/02/2014 21:53

It's official - I am a lightweight

Hope the party goes great tomorrow novice - does the cake look good?
