Karl quotes are the best. My faves are the Middleton one and the Pucci dress.

Thanks Mig!

LinusDKD · 08/02/2014 11:49

grumpy pm!

I really liked the September Issue and Mademoiselle C but Scatter my ashes at Bergdorf's was a dissapontment. A very oldfashioned, almost messy documentary.

I agree Karl Lagerfeld being good with children was a revelation!

Need to finish watching The Last Emperor about Valentino.

Annianni · 08/02/2014 11:53

We have school shoes
We have football boots
And we have yellow wellies... Ds2 wanted pink ones :o

I've pinned something...

maradesbois · 08/02/2014 12:02

Good morning all

Hope you enjoy your meet up today, am very envious!

Have decided that my next significant purchase is going to be a black clutch bag. So far am liking this www.net-a-porter.com/intl/product/381826 and this www-m.gucci.com/uk/styles/336753A7M0G1000 but would appreciate any thoughts/alternative suggestions you may have.

maradesbois · 08/02/2014 12:07

bonsoir wow, have just seen your post re milk magazine and looked up their website as had not heard of it. How fabulous! Am trying to catch up on work I missed during the week due to having flu but can see that that's going to be very distracting!

BecauseIsaidS0 · 08/02/2014 12:21

mara, I'd go for the Marni one. The Gucci clutch reminds me too much of their 90's aesthetic.

BrandyAlexander · 08/02/2014 12:41

Am finally on my way! I am wearing Karen Millen bateau sweater that dbro got me for Xmas (always look forward to pressies from him as he's got fantastic eye), j crew matchstick jeans, very old LKB ankle boots. They are 3 inch semi blocked heels so go in and out of fashion. Grin.

It all went wrong when I started looking for the PS1 suede tote. I spent ages looking for it in the tardis that is my dressing room by which time it was too late to properly accessorise! So I have got the accessories from yesterday's work outfit: Thomas sabo charm watch bracelet, Tiffany bracelet, a lovely blue bracelet from Accessorize, green dangly earrings from Accessorize and a different new-ish bag, the Prada one I bought in November.

Anyway, much much more importantly than all that....happy birthday to an MNVer. Much love to you today xxx

BecauseIsaidS0 · 08/02/2014 12:59

Have a fab time!

maradesbois · 08/02/2014 13:13

because thanks for feedback. I prefer the Marni one too, just not sure if enough to actually buy it. It's to replace a smythson maze clutch that i seem to have inexplicably lost Confused Blush. Love the art deco style of the smythson and still hoping that it may be somewhere in the house!

MarshaBrady · 08/02/2014 13:15

Mara I really like the Marni too.

LinusDKD · 08/02/2014 13:28

I prefer the Marni as well!

Mignonette · 08/02/2014 13:41

Maredebois

The Gucci is more fly. The Marni is more stealth. Gucci for mad evenings, Marni for work and around the town in the day.

I like both but I'd mix it up- The Gucci one with my sleekest most sedate work outfit. The Marni needs loosening up a bit. Definitely not to be worn with super smart outfits or it'll all go a bit Working Girl.

Have you checked out my Merci clutch? A bargain. Sleek strokeable leather too.

Here are some favourites-

Givenchy

The Row

Alaia

Saint Laurent Ponyskin

Bargainous Balenciaga Well a Brgain for them anyway. I love this one.

Victoria Beckham

Chloe. There's something so chic about the Chloe name for me. I think its memories of those 70's adverts along with Kenzo. I wore Kenzo in the 80's and wish I had the clothing still. My Italian aunt used to send me their stuff.

GrumpyOldHorsewoman · 08/02/2014 14:12

mig of all those clutches I like your Merci one the best - super chic.

I think it may have been via Milk Magazine that I discovered Smallable and Little Fashion Gallery which are, without doubt, the absolute best childrens' clothes websites around and the source of most of DD2's fabulous wardrobe.

Mignonette · 08/02/2014 14:18

Yes it is worth every penny Grumpy and very good value. The ties mean it isn't the fastest bag to get into so i wouldn't recommend it for women with arms full of babies/toddlers Smile but it is super chic and reasonably priced. I have an ochre yellow and and orange/brown. I need a black one I think!

I have another website where they show house porn- loads of chic French people in their amazing lives.. I'll look it up.

Annianni · 08/02/2014 14:35

I want Mig's clutch in black or grey or navy please...

Drywhiteplease · 08/02/2014 15:08

Love all of the clutches .....mara you lost a Smysthson Shock

LinusDKD · 08/02/2014 15:47

Clare Vivier has some nice clutches as well!

maradesbois · 08/02/2014 15:53

Thanks for all the advice.

mignonette think I may have to copy your merci bag, very elegant and love the tie detail. The website says they have more colours but doesn't seem to be the case at the moment - would love a black one and a pale one for summer - maybe cream or blush. Otherwise am torn between the Marni and balenciaga, both are my kind of style ie stealth not fly as you put it so well!

Talking of French childrens shops/sites I love bon ton and Alice à Paris. AaP's website is not great but the clothes are fab.

Drywhiteplease · 08/02/2014 16:28

Quick! I need help on pin!

GrumpyOldHorsewoman · 08/02/2014 16:34

Just wanted to share - I've put in a Dominos order and I'm currently eating toffee honeycomb ice cream from the tub and the kids aren't even here yet.
Starting as I mean to go on, i.e food coma.

may be back tomorrow looking for larger sized clothes

GrumpyOldHorsewoman · 08/02/2014 16:39

Sorry Dry, been trying to comment on Pin, but stupid phone won't let me.

Sorry - splodge for me too

maradesbois · 08/02/2014 17:05

dry I know, an aargh moment. It's either misplaced somewhere in the house or I've left it in a hotel, still hoping for the former!

Drywhiteplease · 08/02/2014 17:10

Good luck tonight Grumpy!!

LinusDKD · 08/02/2014 17:25

For dry

Charlotte Casiraghi, I saw this image at a newsagent today and had to think of you.

So you keep your eye on the prize Wink

Hi honey I'm on the train home. Lovely catch up, 4 girls, 4 bottles of fizz (I think?!). Lots of chat, I could have stayed longer.
Liberty you look so good in my blouse. Made me feel like a proud mum.
Sleep was wearing her gorgeous Theory leggings and looking fab as always
Novice love the J Crew matchsticks and you do suit longer necklaces. I was quite relieved when your ring didn't suit me!
Everyone seemed to like my Yak jumper, and all said black looks good on me so I am yet again questioning my colour diagnosis!
