Am I alone in really disliking animal print?

I really, really dislike it. I'm happy to see it on others but I just can't see myself in it. I got given a lovely Lola Rose scarf for my birthday but it's an animal print design so I'll never wear it.

Yes Grin

It just doesn't work on some people. Life would be very boring if we were all the same, style/body shape/personality-wise. I love it though Grin

escargot · 23/01/2014 16:37

I'm glad to hear that hopefully I was seriously thinking I should start trying hard to wear it Grin

I'm sure it can't just be me bunny :(

I can only see Bet Lynch when I see it on me!

No. Hate it. Literally makes me shudder. Lose a little bit of respect for anyone wearing it.

escargot · 23/01/2014 16:39

YAY Marceline Thanks

I hate it too. Def Bet Lynch.

Each to their own, but whenever I see it touted on fashion pages, I think "Why? Why?"

HellsGranny · 23/01/2014 16:40

Everytime I see leopard or zebra print I shudder!

I think there should be more fresian cow print available though!

escargot · 23/01/2014 16:42

rosegold and HG shall we start a campaign? Grin Have you ever told anyone it looks cheap and nasty or just thought it?

escargot · 23/01/2014 16:43

I went into a restaurant once where there were cowskins on the wall. That definitely made me shudder!

I hate it. I think the only time animal print looks good is when an animal is wearing it ! It just looks cheap to me (and all the tango orange girls where I live seem to vie to see who can wear the most!)

GwendolineMaryLacey · 23/01/2014 16:44

I hate it. My mother loves it, I see a lot of animal print... :o

escargot · 23/01/2014 16:44

Oh I feel SO much better, this is music to my ears!

burnishedsilver · 23/01/2014 16:44

I like zebra and snake print but not leopard. I don't do brown.

dontcallmemam · 23/01/2014 16:45

Is a discrete navy & black scarf acceptable may be glancing at neck?

Helpyourself · 23/01/2014 16:45

My people!
I was utterly shaken when I first clicked on a link to the Mumsnet scarf. It rocked me to my core. How can so many people be so wrong.

MarshaBrady · 23/01/2014 16:46

I really can't wear it.

Oh except I would really like some leopard flats.

But can't do shirts / dresses etc.

escargot · 23/01/2014 16:47

Is it tucked under your coat dontcall so that we can't see it? Grin

I doubt that would be too bad TBH, it's the actual animal print in animal colours that bothers me the most!

awaywego1 · 23/01/2014 16:47

hate it..bleugh.

RosegoldRuby · 23/01/2014 16:48

of course I've never told anyone I think it looks cheap and nasty. I just hope it isn't written all over my face.

However "Why? Why?" probably is.

Any Mumsnetters who love and wear animal prints, no offence, I wouldn't expect you to love all my clothing choices. ( But really, why?")

gastrognome · 23/01/2014 16:49

I am so glad I am not alone. I cannot bear animal print, except on animals!
Leopard print definitely the worst. I forever associate it with Bette Lynch. Would never wear it. Zebra is pretty grim too.

escargot · 23/01/2014 16:49

Oh no marsha step away from the leopard print flats! Shock

Budge up help there's room for more! Grin

Owllady · 23/01/2014 16:49

I don't like it either but my fourteen year old daughter loves it

RosegoldRuby · 23/01/2014 16:50

For any Archers listeners, I imagine Lilian wearing it. Especially leopard print. The worst.

HortenMarket · 23/01/2014 16:50

Actually totally agree with you. I've always thought it was horrid. Then I bought a pair of leopard print flat ankle boots and I actually quite like them. But that's as far as I will go. Really dislike all animal print clothes and could never have the mumsnet scarf.

escargot · 23/01/2014 16:51

Oh look at all these sane people on our thread welcome away and gastro!

Why indeed rosegold Confused
