Been to, stupid autocorrect.

shopafrolic · 05/02/2014 13:54

Liberty their website says:-
Unisex sizing: Women's sizes are approximate, typically 1-1/2 sizes smaller than men' s. Order your regular shoe width.

Do you happen to know if yours are a unisex style or women's ones? I am completely confused and their offices are closed due to inclement weather.
The green are OOS so I'm going to order the dark grey to try.......
I am a 7 - 7.5. Thought I should order 7.5 on the basis of their web info? WWYD?

shopafrolic · 05/02/2014 14:11

OK - so website says free delivery on orders over £99, and then free returns. So I'm going to order 3 different sizes - which will take me over the £99 and then return the ones that don't work......

libertychick · 05/02/2014 14:22

I don't know if mine are unisex or women's Shop. Sorry. The code on them is U410SGRE so I'm guessing maybe unisex as the style is 410 so maybe the U stands for unisex? The size label says: 6.5 US, 6 UK, 39.5 EU! That probably leaves you none the wiser!

libertychick · 05/02/2014 14:23

Sorry Shop x post! Working from home today and was on a call so didn't see your update.

Turquoiseblue · 05/02/2014 14:33

Interesting talk on the style days, somedays I think I d love one, mostly I n happy with what I wear though, and I think I might have a Mig trait or defying being told to wear or not wear something.
I swore I would never descend to the level of parkas. I recanted after many wet cold days on the sideline of a kiddie football game and days out n the park and the realisation that I probably have another 20 years of theses days ahead of me! I got a black one and was seriously considering ordering he wrap burgundy one too or shops Great Plains one!... It s warm, so warm, and cosy, and did I mention I m not cold anymore ........
I think I might have just lost all fashion credentials.
Shop have you considered getting custom made orthotics - they can transfer between footwear and nowadays if you go to a good orthotist you can get ones made well that don't take up an extra shoe size, you might not be able wear ballet flats with them but you could certainly wear more options than trainers.

I did also order 2 pairs of Hudson's - burgundy mirars and black bikers this morning, hopefully delivered by the end of the week.
Decam love the bag talk! I saw the most lovely navy miu miu on a girl this morning on the train, she also had a lovely pair of 50/50s....Envy

Drywhiteplease · 05/02/2014 14:37

Every day I think I'm going to keep off Mn but then I find I have so much to say Grin

Shop was going to say olive or grey although I really want bright red trainers this spring
Decam I forgot to comment on your bags.....all lovely and not a bit showy offy, this is MNV after all Wink
I'm a bit sick of K Moss apologies and sometimes wonder something controversial coming up whether she's a style icon more because of who she is than because of what she wears. Anyone associated with her seems to be "cool".... Why doesn't anyone say that she looks rough and a bit druggie most of the time

And there's more:

Amber I agree with Umlauf about not wanting to be restricted style or colour wise. But that's just me, and it obviously works for people. But what happens when boot cuts and flares come back in fashion? I remember Trinny and Tranny saying pear shapes should NEVER wear skinny or tapered trousers........but if you want to look fashionable you've just got to do it.

I'm beginning to suspect that child proof screw tops on medicine bottles are actually more adult proof than anything. TEN MINUTES it's just taken me to get the lid of my medicine bottle! Hands are now corned beef colour from the effort!

Anyway, today's outfit is a dark blue dress with white horses printed all over it, a red stretchy waist belt and black opaques. Slightly let down by the faux sheepskin brown slippers as I'm not going out today Grin

libertychick · 05/02/2014 14:58

one your outfit sounds great!

Dry Grin I can't stay off here either and I have sooo much work to do it's just not funny.

I really want a style day, more than I want a colour day. I want someone to tell me exactly what to wear for the rest of my life as I angst about it so much. I just want a little rule book so I never make mistakes again and always look fab Grin.

And yes, forgot to comment on Decam bags. I want that Anya navy one - DH has vetoed though Sad. I was saying the other night I will treat myself to something fab when we pay off the mortgage and he said 'please, please don't buy an expensive bag, feel free to spend twice the amount on jewellery'. He thinks the whole designer bag thing is a total rip off and says it would really upset him if I spent more than £250 on one. I have two years to change his mind

OneLittleLady · 05/02/2014 15:02

Thanks liberty I feel good in it, shows off my waist which is getting smaller every week! The dress is either going to have to be binned or taken in as it's miles too big on the waist without a belt to hide the extra fabric!

shopafrolic · 05/02/2014 15:05

So I've ordered the grey (no green to be found anywhere BOO HOO!) in a 7, 7.5 and an 8. All bases covered!
Dry I agree with you on La Moss - my friend who was working with her said she's lovely but looking rough now.
I am quite tempted by a style day but still haven't got my head around being an Autumn yet (and that's been over a year now!)
Liberty I'd rather spend that on a handbag than jewellery - although I appreciate jewellery is more likely to retain or increase in value........

Annianni · 05/02/2014 15:09

Liberty just do what my mother always did, and half the cost of anything she bought, when her husband asked!

Oh bum Shop, which grey did you order?

shopafrolic · 05/02/2014 15:12

these ones

OneLittleLady · 05/02/2014 15:16

Like them in the grey Shop

Drywhiteplease · 05/02/2014 15:43

I want both bags and jewellery Liberty!!!!!!

Drywhiteplease · 05/02/2014 15:44

And Anni you're not a lightweight , you just need to go out more, you're obviously out of practice!

Decameron · 05/02/2014 16:05

Forgot about Miu Miu, Turquoise, I will check there too. Your boots sound nice. I am hankering after 50-50s again after seeing a very stylish friend in them.

Parkas are very practical with small children, there is no getting away from it!

DH is acclimatised now to bag prices (or I don't tell him the cost) but occasionally queries why I need more than one or two. :) I may drag him in to a jeweller's on Valentine's day (which is my birthday too) as like Dry I'd like both !

Good choice in the grey, Shop.

libertychick · 05/02/2014 16:16

I like both too! I was a bit taken aback by how cross he got about it. He's not a cheapskate and likes nice things, believes it's worth paying for quality and thinks I should 'treat myself' for working hard etc but he read something recently about bags and the level of mark up and has developed a right bee in his bonnet about it. I think it's all the articles about Mulberry, it's the only bag brand he's aware of and he reads business press and is just shocked that they have put up prices purely as a marketing ploy to attract a different market - so now all premium bag brands are tainted in his eyes. I know jewellery has huge mark ups too but can't alert him to this

He also can't work out why I might need more than 1 black bag, 1 tan bag and one sparkly/coloured one for going out Smile

Decameron · 05/02/2014 16:19

Well, your DH is right but we won't tell him! AH do have great sales, I got the red version at half price in House of Fraser last year.

libertychick · 05/02/2014 16:24

TBH Decam I'm the cheapskate of the family I would probably only buy one in the sales. Hopefully the navy AH will go to half price in a year or 18 months and even at a sales price I'll just pretend it cost less than that as per Anni's advice Grin

libertychick · 05/02/2014 16:27

And now I am feeling bad complaining about him as I am upstairs 'working' and I can hear him downstairs playing the Orchard Incy Wincy spider game with DD and he's being so lovely and patient with her Smile

Decameron · 05/02/2014 16:30

I buy most everything on sale or discount, it's the only way! He sounds great. My two are glued to a DVD and I am hiding in the kitchen pretending to tidy. Grin

Drywhiteplease · 05/02/2014 16:30

My DH is the same liberty and I am to a certain extent emphasis on "certain" I only have3 bags that I would class as expensive with a 4th coming soon Wink they're all carefully considered purchases apart from Nancy in practical colours and styles that won't date. But each to their own.

I'm v proud of myself. Being past 40 is great has many good points, I don't get walked over any more.

2 1/2 yrs ago we bought a big tv and fantastic sound system . The speaker (subwoofer?) thingy has broken. Retailer said "yes that's rubbish, but it's out of warranty" and suggested I buy another one at a discounted price. ER NO!
Hmm
Me " you know, I don't mean to be difficult, but I think a sound system of that price should last a bit longer than 2 1/2 years. What do you think? I've had great service up till now from your shop, apart from the fact that you've had the speaker thing for over a month without contacting me, but I think the sales of goods act says that things have to be durable and I don't think it is really nice voice, and whatever the warranty says, I think it's your responsibility to provide me with a durable item. I'm not saying it's your personal problem, but it is your shop's. Shall I leave it with you?" smiley voice

Anyone want me to call AR?Smile

Did Atterley Rd get back to you, Liberty?
