Easter renovators! Come one, come all

After the brilliant success of our Christmas Countdown Princessing thread I'm starting a new thread to take us to Easter. From 1st Jan it's 108 days so there will be a countdown to this days.

This idea stems from the original princessing threads but has evolved to accommodate all aspects of beautifying, beauty, clothes, diet, exercise etc.

What we like to do is a list of what your planning on doing and working through it.

Links to follow.

I'd love to join this thread!

Karbea your list is brilliant. You reminded me to work on relationships as well.

Most of this I do but not continuously.

-Health
3 healthy meals a day, no snacking
2 portions of fruit, 4 veg every day
Vit d, cod liver oil

-Fitness
Buggy fit class once a week, Exercise dvd twice a week (fri + Sun)

-Appearance
oil cleansing method every night, shea butter every morning
coconut oil on hair once a week
Dye more regularly
eyebrows every 2 weeks
whitening toothpaste
Facial every 6 weeks
Haircut every 8 weeks

-Housework
laundry every day
make sure kitchen and living room are clean and tidy every night
meal plan
Thursdays will be clean the bathroom and strip the beds day
Do uniforms on Fridays

-Family
Spend half an hour proper time with kids every day, not just 'being in the background' time. Read with all of them every night.
Spend 1-2-1 with older 2 once a month
Have family time every weekend - long walk, park, meal out, games
Have a day trip or weekend away every two months at least (this is for me as I love to travel and can't do it much. I can therefore travel more locally)
Visit my mum once a month
Kiss and hug dh more often. I'm not very tactile!

Me too. I am 40 in March so am on a panic countdown, starting on Friday (too much socialising to do until then).

Lose 1 stone by the strat of March - more would be nicer but unlikely given that I have been this weight for nearly 6 years Blush
Couch 2 5K and/or the shred.
Water.
Low carb 5-2ing
Nails
Am growing hair but that seems under control at the mo with my new Parlux (amazing), BBH and ghds.

Oh, and better rather than more clothes. I have done a mahoosive Fatface order, so will have a look when I pick that up. Plus a pair of Ash Spirals that I'd like to adopt instead of wearing very scaffy Uggs all the time. I have done a decent clear out, and the next time I'd like it to be to make way for my new size 12s...

Hello, Can I join in too. Started the Christmas one, did well for a couple of weeks, then life got in the way and I now look a mess again. I need to make grooming, looking fabulous a part of my life. I feel so much better when I look better. Slightly PMTy at the moment and everything is a bit doom and gloom!

Here is my list.

  • Lose at least 7 stones. I am vv overweight and it is making me miserable. I'm lucky enough to have avoided the health issues thus far but it's only a matter of time.
  • Stick to the Cambridge diet for at least three months. Hard work but works well and is fast.

-Buy a bike and actually use it. I really want to be fit as well as slim.
  • Maintain hair extensions so they look fresh and neat. No more just pinning them up in a bun.
  • Do nails twice weekly. I will NEVER ever again leave the house with chipped polish.

-Wear some makeup daily. Mainly eyebrow pencil, concealer, powder, eyeliner and blush.
  • Take off make up every night. Use castor oil for the first cleanse.
  • Ensure , eyebrows, tache and chin fuzz removal done at least weekly. Inspect for stray hairs daily. I suspect this may be weight related so as the weight goes down, so should the awful hairs on my face.
  • Use hair removal cream on arms, legs, underarms and fanjo weekly.
  • Only wear truly fabulous things that fit and flatter me.

Will probably think of loads more but that is the bare minimum.

Dilidali thanks for clarifying :)

Marked my place earlier, needed to have a think about my goals, here goes:

BODY

Continue with Slimming World online, get down to 14 stone by Easter (I started at 15 st 7lbs, currently 15 st 4 lbs)

Eat 5 portions of veg every day and cut right down on the sugar. Basically, follow SW properly

Walk at least 3 miles a day

Use tins to do 20 reps of arm exercises every day

BEAUTY

Use Liz Earle Cleanse and Polish twice daily, when that's run out, switch back to OCM

Do face mask twice a week

Use body lotion every day. I don't need to buy any, got a massive stash at home that needs using up!

Use Argan oil on hair once a week

HOME

Get with the Unfucking! 15 minutes of cleaning every day

Washing up DONE in the evening after dinner, not left to fester for days afterwards

I think that's enough to be going on with. I can think of more things to inprove on but I suspect I'll shoot myself in the foot if I try to do too much.

Good luck to all us renovators! Grin

Is this open to everyone? My situation slightly strange. I had an allograft (like a BMT) in September, after 20 months of treatment for Hodgkin's. I got my first clear scan a couple of weeks ago!

I need to

Gain 2 stone
Grow hair (currently rocking the sinead o'conner look, will be happier when Kylie pixie, but need to decide beyond this)
Drink more water
Stay positive and do some nice things, although there are many restrictions still.
Buy new clothes, at the moment live in trackies as have lost too much weight
Am hoping by Easter I'll be looking well & like me again!

Haloumac of course you are welcome! Not everyone is actually losing weight, I for one am maintaining (even with the 2lb I've put on over Christmas I'm still within my target weight range). I hope 2014 is a happy and healthy year for you.

Today I am trying to hoover up the goodies from the kitchen so that I can start afresh for 2014. So I've had a smoked salmon and cream cheese bagel for breakfast, then pate on toast followed by Christmas pudding for lunch! I'm sure I've burned lots of calories with my pre-New Year cleaning fit this afternoon though, the house is now spick and span and ready for 2014. I have also filled out the new calendar, including a nifty system of colour coded stickers for the DC's activities. My hope is that it will encourage them to look at it themselves and remember to leave the house with the correct sports kit or musical instrument for that day! As my new job means leaving the house at 7.40am to take them to the childminder I really need to get organised. I have also been to B&Q and bought a mirror to put up in the hallway downstairs, so that I can do my make up there in the mornings rather than waiting for the bathroom. I went to Laura Ashley too and bought some drawer liners and fragranced sachets to put in my newly organised drawers and wardrobe, plus some room spray to match.

DH has taken the DC for a walk on the beach, so I am rewarding myself for my hard work by putting my feet up and watching Death Comes to Pemberley on Sky+. Mr Darcy!

Blondie I've not much planned, only just moved to fortnightly check ups and can't fly for 1-2 years. Going to lakes in feb and Cornwall in July. May manage France in the summer if consultants allow. I've given my mum a voucher for lunch at Harvey nicks and then shopping for new handbag (funded by dad) so may treat myself too!!

Just been out to stock up on some goodies for my princessing - bought a Leighton Denny crystal nail file and I will never use anything again on my nails except this - it is epic. Xmas Smile

Tesco had sold out of the Barbara Daly primer, but it is no longer on the 3 for 2 offer, so will have to keep popping in to see if new stock has arrived and buy some even if not on offer as it is so hard to get hold of.

Have bought some tubes of face masks (one mud, one cucumber) and some face exfoliation creams and long handled brush for body brushing and exfoliation. MUA range in Superdrug was sold out except for the odd item, so will have to go back again when they have re-stocked, although 3 for 2 offer will probably have finished by then [f:(]

New Davina dvd gets really good reviews and I have all her other dvds, so may well treat (??) myself to that for a bit of variety.

Hanloumac congratulations for a clear scan result - don't worry you are not putting dieting on your princessing list when everyone else seems to be, it is whatever is appropriate to you.

Big Area as you can see from my 'epic' post, there is much work to be done!!!!

Control love the idea of a ta-dah list, so am going to use that too if you don't mind.

Helga glad you had a good birthday, hope tree problem now sorted out.

See you all tomorrow for Day 108, Happy New Year and success to each and every Princess in 2014. Wine

I have decided on mine:

Spending freeze on clothes until end of February.

No new products until I have used what I have (for the next 12 months).

Maintain healthy eating and at least five a day.
Remember to take supplements daily; iron and evening primrose.

Up exercise; longer dog walks on a weekend, using weights at home for arms and upper body, work on core muscles. Hopefully when work pattern settles down I can re join a gym.

Must use handcream on a daily basis. Weekly manicures.

Moisturise body at least twice a week.

Home facial once a week.

Has anyone on here done Jillian Michaels' 6 week 6 pack and found it to be successful? I went through half of level 1 yesterday but didn't feel it was really using my stomach muscles much, compared to her basic 30 Day Shred dvd. Just lots of cardio which knackered me out a bit. Would I be better off sticking with the Shred?

ChubbyLittleLoser · 31/12/2013 19:05

I've done well tonight! Washed hair and used the 3 minute miracle hair treatment, de-fuzzed, exfoliated face and body, moisterised body, used a face mask which was lovely, moisterised face, blow dried my hair properly so it's all bouncy, have a nice flattering outfit on and my new perfume.

I feel and look pretty good, now why I don't do this regularly is beyond me, I could feel like this most days if I put the effort in!

Happy new year to everyone, and here's to a groomed and glamorous 2014! Wine Grin

Happy New Year!

I'm starting 2014 with a clean house, an organised wardrobe and a positive attitude. This is going to be my year Grin

But first I need to do my online Tesco shop for delivery tomorrow, before the DC get up and I have to take them out begging singing Calennig. I am filling my basket with lots of healthy food ready for the new me, but am wishing they hadn't got so much cheese on special offer...
