Easter renovators! Come one, come all

HelgatheHairy · 29/12/2013 14:11

After the brilliant success of our Christmas Countdown Princessing thread I'm starting a new thread to take us to Easter. From 1st Jan it's 108 days so there will be a countdown to this days.

This idea stems from the original princessing threads but has evolved to accommodate all aspects of beautifying, beauty, clothes, diet, exercise etc.

What we like to do is a list of what your planning on doing and working through it.

Links to follow.

Well done on the new thread helga I can't imagine the pain of doing it on 3G. Glad to see all the links are sorted, too - I've only just seen your message as I've been very slow off the mark the last couple of days, mainly due to finally starting to reclaim my craft room, and cracking on with my first project - a new summer/work dress!

Will post my list in a day or so once I've dug it out Blush I have been a veeeeery bad renovator the last couple of weeks or so, so definitely need to get back on the wagon.

My six week six pack dvd has almost made it out of the cellophane - possibly tomorrow I'll give it a test drive Grin

Ok, I'm finally sat with a small Wine and my new book.

I didn't manage to fit my Sunday routine in tonight Hmm today has just flown away with the faries so will try and do tomorrow instead but am feeling a bit blah & cba now.

I need to sort some new clothes out & a haircut so will try and concentrate on those this time around since the basics are in place (even if they are a bit hit and miss lately). We bought a kinect for the xbox over the hols too so may spend the fiver on a zumba game thing or something along those lines and try to tone up a bit I think.

Right, off to bury myself in my book for half an hour before bed Smile

Ooh can I join in? I'm about to give birth so until then I'm slobbing and finishing off Christmas chocs but want to get back to 'normal' asap and think I will need some motivation.

Planning to get back to swimming asap and lose some of the rather unattractive back fat I've developed!

This is just what I need! Really let myself go over the last 18 months and I told myself it was due to studying and having DS and relationship problems but it really is just lazyness!

My action plan is:
Drink 2l of water a day and quit the pepsi max addiction
Stick to the low carb boot camp
Yoga/pilates 3 x a week
Keep up my skincare routine
Start wearing a bit of make up
Get booked into the hairdressers asap
Think before I buy new clothes

Thanks for the thread HelgatheHairy

3G is being a bit hit and miss so apologies for not name checking individually.

Welcome everyone.

foolssilver is this your first DC?? I started the original thread when DD was 11 days old. It's been a bit of a learning curve!

Can I join please??

I'm planning on getting my money's worth from my gym membership. Need to use it twice a week to make my money back. Plan in going at least 3 times and getting Jessica Ennis abs by June.

Going veggie for at least the first 6 weeks of the year. Then slowly introduce meat. A couple if days a week only

Stuck to skin care routine.

Not buy any new products until I've run out.

Cut down on caffeine intake. None after lunchtimes.

Cut down on booze.

Ideally looking to lose 2 stone on 5:2 plus low carbing.
Exercise 3 times a week (mainly swimming and Shred).
Cut down on caffeine, expensive lunches out etc.
Save £300 per month.
Stop online shopping and refresh existing outfits.

Helga, a very happy birthday!!!! Hope you had a fabulous day and been thoroughly spoilt!

Ok, my list:

  1. Get everything ready for the morning from the night before. Clothes, bag, lunch, coffee and hot water cup+vitamins by the kettle.
  2. Eat sensibly and lose the stone. No sugars bar the piece of home made cake I traditionally bake with DD on Saturday afrernoons. I must have a small piece of cake with a coffee in the afternoons at work.
  3. Face, neck, hands and feet routine. Got cream by the bed, ready.
  4. The water bottle at work works beautifully, I must get a bottle for home too.
  5. Once a week I'll have a fish lunch (I hate fish, but I discovered that if I smother it in horseradish sauce I can down it).
  6. Do the plank, abdo and squats challenge in the mornings.
  7. Work on my project 333.
  8. Do something for myself once a week. Be it a quick visit to the art gallery, a hot bath with proper soaking time, play with the watercolours etc.
  9. Start every week with a mantra. Eg: I will not complain at all this week (just write it down and do it nex t week instead). Or: I will smile instead of frowning. I will not snap at people, just for one week I'll be nice. I will pay at least a compliment a day. Etc.

10. Work on mu bucket list.

Yes please!!!

I've not joined in before, fairly new to mumsnet but S&B and the Weight Loss boards have been great for me.

So in 2014 I plan to;

Continue fasting twice a week but be a lot stricter!

Start a pamper night once a week to include body brushing and moisturising, nails etc.

Sort our wardrobe and try to develop a capsule wardrobe

Start shredding

Easters a great target for me because it's my 34th birthday in April.

Oh, at the end of the challenge my prize shall be a day at the spa on my own. I plan to save £10 a week towards my spa day. I am booking an annual leave day just for this next time I am in at work.

I really could do with joining this.
I am 48 in less than 2 months and really need to feel a bit better about myself.

So...
I intend to go to the gym twice a week and go for an outside jog once a week, maybe even do some stretches at work too.

I want to look after my hair a bit better by going to the hairdresser more often than every 6 months.

I aim to start using something at night to help my ageing skin, so a face cream, a hand cream, and a neck cream.

I ought to prune my wardrobe too, but need to find a friend to help I think as I am not great at getting rid of my lovely purchases, most of which are my 'wardrobe of dreams' as I don't have a social life or go anywhere special but always hope some day I will.

So do we follow a particular plan or can we construct our own?

Report
Dilidali · 29/12/2013 22:36

No, you make your own, the idea is to look after yourself, do it enough times it'll turn into a normal routine.

Love this! I'm in!

I will lose a stone, grow my nails, look after my skin better. By Easter I'd like to be comfortably back at 9st5, with long nails, and pores that are no longer visible from space.

MummyAnnabella · 29/12/2013 22:48

Right I am in! Aim high and all that...

  1. Develop and maintain proper skin care routine to improve skin which is a bit rubbish at min

  1. Notwithstanding above DO NOT buy one single product till I use up the gazillions I have. Then replace only essential items until I only have a small number of products I use regularly.

  1. Have one pamper night a week with bath and use up all bath oils, body scrubs, that never get used. Ditto re body lotions that i will use as hand cream for my poor under moisturised hands. I will stash lotions in car, by loo, by bed etc to make sure used.

  1. Lose a stone. Eat 3 healthy meals no snacks unless fruit ie no biscuits etc

  1. Drink 2 litres water. No fizzy drinks.

  1. Exercise x5 per week.

  1. Buy NO clothes in January FULLSTOP. No surfing Internet should help.

  1. Re above when not eating hours on shopstyle etc READ BOOKS.

  1. Clear out wardrobe of stuff i dont wear and will not ever wear.

10. Stop complaining and bitching and be nice. Ask people re themselves and compliment them.
