After the brilliant success of our Christmas Countdown Princessing thread I'm starting a new thread to take us to Easter. From 1st Jan it's 108 days so there will be a countdown to this days.

This idea stems from the original princessing threads but has evolved to accommodate all aspects of beautifying, beauty, clothes, diet, exercise etc.

What we like to do is a list of what your planning on doing and working through it.

Links to follow.

I have been doing ok so far although I need to try and up the exercise more. I think I need to do a little something every day rather than every other day as its becoming easy to let things slip.

My body and hands are benefiting from being moisturised. I've just got to remember to dry body brush. I keep remembering to do it when I've got under the shower.

I've not bought any clothes or products, so that is good.

Dilidali · 10/01/2014 20:44

control, sorry to hear that :(
Hope your weekend gets better!

Dilidali · 10/01/2014 20:59

vvviola, what's next now you are done with studying?
polly, weren't you doing the plank challenge as well? I do plank/abdo/squats, but like vvviola, I pulled some funny little muscle I never knew I had, I can put my finger on the exact spot, so I took a break for two days.

I'm happy because my sales purchases are gorgeous, finally they all arrived, the last one was an intimissimi order for underwear and they fit perfectly. Got a couple of boat neck tops, very simple but beautifully cut (Massimo Dutti), a jumper and a cape. So this weekend I am going to wear some of the new stuff and do my nails. Tomorrow I am having my eyebrows threaded, I have an event next week, need to pull all stops.
And that's all :)

Pollywallywinkles · 10/01/2014 21:09

I am planking. However I did a plank challenge in November and my body was not too happy at times, so I ended up with some aches and pains.

This time I'm taking it much slower (easier) in the hope that I will have less problems and be able to sustain planking for longer than a month and get more benefit from it. At least that is the theory.

louwn · 10/01/2014 21:13

Ooh can I join? Marathon training is sorting the exercise for me. Am concentrating on drinking more water, taking some supplements and a good skincare routine. Once I have that in hand plan to move onto hands, feet and body - its all looking a bit neglected at the moment...

lucysmam · 10/01/2014 21:14

I promise no epic post tonight! Grin

Control I know the blah feeling after a blazing row...hope you and your dp make up and have a nice weekend (fringe looks good btw, meant to comment on fb earlier but got busy!)

I realised today I've been walking probably 2-3 miles at least every day since we moved & I have lost weight (dp bought my birthday jeans in a smaller size than usual & they're spot on fit wise Shock ) not intentionally....think I could do with a little back on tbh.

I can't remember what product you all recommended & have only just re-read so will go back and read again Confused

thinkofablinkingnamewoman · 11/01/2014 15:55

Ta das today
Had my manicure and pedicure - nails look great. Also got eyebrows and upper lip waxed while I was there so feeling well groomed!
Went for a walk round the park
Made raspberry smoothie for breakfast
Now thinking of a healthy dinner

All sounds good but I did have curry and a few drinks last night, so I'm trying to get back on track!

vvviola · 11/01/2014 19:26

Dilidali - job hunting is next! It's all a bit tricky as I'm overqualified for most jobs I'm looking at, or, because they are outside the area I used to work in, I have the skills but not the experience in that sector. A bit frustrating, but hopefully something will come through.

My hair is (hurray!) slowly improving thanks to an old FrizzEase overnight repair cream. It's still frizzy and has the crazy sticky-out bits, but it's better than it was.

And both DDs slept through the night last night for the first time ever (6yo started waking occasionally recently, usually on the nights that 2 yo finally slept through!). Which is probably the best beauty treatment ever - 7 hours uninterrupted sleep!

Pollywallywinkles · 12/01/2014 15:27

Ive just fallen from my spending ban as a I bought a pj vest top to match some pjs that I got at Christmas Blush

The last few days I've remembered to dry body brush. Everything else is going well other than the exercise. Plenty of walking but not enough of anything else.

Wolfcub · 12/01/2014 20:14

Evening all. Hope everyone has had a good weekend.

New job, with ridiculous commute, starts tomorrow eek.

Ta dahs for today:

Hair oiled
Lip and eyebrows tidied
Legs epilated

Outfit chosen and laid out
Plank challenge, should have done 90 seconds but only managed 60

Pollywallywinkles · 12/01/2014 21:00

60 secs is good. I'm up to 45 and only moving up when I feel comfortable with it. I followed a plank challenge last year and it was too ambitious for me, so I ended up abandoning it. This time I'm doing it at my own pace.

Pollywallywinkles · 12/01/2014 21:00

Meant to say good luck tomorrow.

Dilidali · 12/01/2014 22:56

Evening :)

Just finished tidying my nails. Got an absolutely mad week coming up. Went for a long walk and also rested this weekend, so I'm ready. I think :).
If I am dressed in grey, black and silver, what colour should I paint my finger nails? They are extremely short, mind, I never paint my fingernails, but I must do it this week. I have lots of colours, red would stick out and annoy the life out of me, I'll keep on wanting to wipe them off. I am a clear polish type of girl, and that's at a push. But is it smart enough?

vvviola · 13/01/2014 02:05

Dilidali, I'm honestly probably not the best person to advise, but would a silvery colour work?

ControlGeek · 13/01/2014 07:42

I'd say silver too, dili, but to be honest clear would probably be just as nice with that colour combination. Def don't go red unless you're picking out a highlight colour of something else that you're wearing.

smellylittleorange · 13/01/2014 09:25

Hi all,

Just checking in – this morning and weekend was still abit blah – I have a serious case of the January blues! The Cleansing toning and moisturising thing is part of my routine now it seems. Need to up the exercise, vits and water. Am trying to go to bed early once a week and have decided to switch things around with my fast days - breakfast is yoghurt and fruit lunch is soup then its is early night – before 9 ! I was finding it easyto not eat during the day BUT I would get home and blow it all as I was soo hungry – I could do with the early night too. I will promise to try and read the thread and catch up later but terribly busy at work sorry

smellylittleorange · 13/01/2014 09:26

Dilidali - Greige!!

I haven't even had the chance to read any of the posts. DH isn't well - not sure exactly what the problem is. About 2 months ago he started feeling dizzy constantly. He went to the doc and had bloods and an ECG, nothing showed up. Doc thought it might be stress related. The dizziness cleared up after a week or so but it came back this weekend. His stomach started playing up on Saturday (he has IBS) and he started feeling dizzy Saturday night. He was bad all day yesterday and has taken today off work. He's so bad he doesn't feel safe to hold DD while walking.

OP posts:
ControlGeek · 13/01/2014 13:42

smelly DP and I have abandoned the idea of eating at all during the day. We find it so much easier to go without completely than to have something small, which kicks off our hunger. This means we get to have a pretty decent evening meal, and our little treat - a muller light yoghurt with chocolate flakes - just before bed.

helga you poor thing, that sounds so worrying. Does the stress diagnosis fit with things that are going on? Could it be linked to his IBS? I know I get dizzy when I have bouts of the runs (not IBS, but it does run in the family).

Starting to get over my meh-ness now. Had a little bit of a hangover (putting it mildly) on Sunday after meeting up with a fellow mn-er on the Saturday but otherwise have shredded every day. Up at 6 again this morning, shredded and housework for an hour before getting DP up. Dressed pretty smartly for work - I say pretty smartly, I'm in one of my favourite suits, but I've shredded so much it's starting to look a bit big on me.

I've asked DP to take me to a local shopping centre on Saturday so I can hopefully buy some shoes that don't leak.

ControlGeek · 13/01/2014 13:46

Oooh meant to mention - if anyone fancies some free product samples, sign up to the DHC catalogue. I've been signed up for a few years, and you get at least two free samples with each catalogue. More if you buy stuff, I think (I never have!). It costs £2 for the initial catalogue and welcome pack, which also comes with free samples, but you never have to buy anything after that and you'll still get the freebies.

The freebies are things like cleansing oil, hair oil, moisturiser, skin lotion, eye serum etc.

Helga - sorry to hear about dh.

am doing okay with exercise, though only averaging about one run a week but did lots of walking today.

have so not been having a spending ban here! Got my petticoat last week which maked my swing dress look fab. Blue dress which am wearing to work tomorrow. Has ruching over the stomach so hides all my wobbly bits andis really flattering. Had to send the swimming costume back though as had underestimated the size of my behind!

my skin looks pretty good. Think it's been helped by more water, regualr cleansing and have been eating a lot of avocados recently.

am signing up for a few 5k and 10 k races in march/may to get my arse into gear (we will be ttc in a few months so may have to pull out but sod's law, if I don't sign up I won't be pg!).

have been having a proper breakfast mornings (mostly eggs) and is really filling me up properly for the morning and stopping me snacking.
