Morning all! Hopped on the scales this morning, fully expecting to have put a couple of pounds on BUT.......15 stone 2 1/2 pounds Grin I don't know if I said on thread what my starting weight was but it was 16 stone 9 3/4 pounds!

libertychick · 27/12/2013 09:33

High fives one - that's fantastic

Mignonette · 27/12/2013 09:44

Dry Concorde used to fly over my house twice a day too (The NYC run). I did love it though as such a beautiful plane. We lived in W London.

Grumpy That's a shame and impossible to not feel sneaked isn't it? Not that difficult to get it right as lord knows we give them enough help Sad. The calf hair belt sounds divine.

My Pour La Victoire brogues arrived without shoe laces! I thought it was a design feature but apparently not!

QueenCadbury · 27/12/2013 09:48

liberty have you got yourself to the doctors yet?

I'm lying here with the most awful period pain that it's actually made me vomit. I've started the pill which my gynae wants me to take for 3 months back to back so here's hoping that I don't go too mad. It's microgynon and I know I've tried it before but can't remember why it didn't suit. I'm wondering if my coil has disappeared/slipped as the pain hasn't been this bad since before I had it in.

I lived in SW London and I used to loving hearing/seeing Concorde at 10pm every night!

Meant to also say...

kate welcome, I like the FC dresses best. I had a nosey at your profile and see you're/were a fashion student. Do tell us more.

grumpy that's a shame about your presents but you should be able to exchange although I can't imagine fat face is to your taste at all?

Inspired by Susie So So I have just ordered these M&S boys brogues Smile

Mignonette · 27/12/2013 09:53

Oh Queen

sending you ((((hugs)))))))

Sorry you are suffering so much.

QueenCadbury · 27/12/2013 10:00

Thanks mig. Luckily I don't think I vommed up my painkiller as it's settling now. Do you think I can just pretend I'm still in pain so I can continue to lie on the sofa and do no childcare Grin

QueenC I gargled with TCP last night, again at 5am and again about one hour ago and it has definitely helped - looks much better and I don't feel as bad - have been mainlining Lemsip Max too. Years of dealing with winter pressures has left me with a huge complex about about going to the GP at this time of year.

libertychick · 27/12/2013 10:01

QueenC I missed that you were actually sick with pain - you poor thing. Definitely stay on the couch today.

OneLittleLady · 27/12/2013 10:05

Poor you QueenC it sounds awful, I hope you get sorted out soon

RubyLovesShopping · 27/12/2013 10:08

One- inspired by your weight loss I just stepped on the scales and wished I hadn't looked. I think I need to lose a stone at leastHmm
Queenc I am joining you in the pain today, usual sucky feeling and headache that I get each monthConfused
..... And we have 8 people coming at 2 for another Xmas lunch. HmmHmm I just want to lay on the sofa too.

QueenCadbury · 27/12/2013 10:19

You have my sympathy ruby

Barbie1 · 27/12/2013 10:40

queencadbury and ruby hope you both feel better soon. Period pain sucks.

one fabulous that you managed to lose over Christmas. I have put on 1kg. That's 2kg since arriving here. It's the lack of exercise that gets me. Back on 5:2 today.

Just checked status of dhl, it's said not delievered as named occupant has moved! So with any luck nap will forward it here in time for my birthday.

GrumpyOldHorsewoman · 27/12/2013 10:42

Liberty I actually took DH into All Saints with me a couple of weeks ago where I tried on a coat I liked and basically told him to buy it for me for Christmas (I could not have been clearer) - size and everything. Unfortunately the actual buying of it would have involved some effort on his part, so I didn't get it (nor anything remotely like it).

Never mind - I'll just have to brave 'the shops' for exchanges

santamarianovella · 27/12/2013 10:54

queen oh! Sorry to here that.I can totally relate, same thing happened to me with Yasmin, just horrible! Yes definitely rest,

liberty hope you worked things out with your dh, and hope you feel better.

mig I tried the buttered rum recipe you linked, yum! Big success, did two patches!

one well done! And Your ds sounds so sweet!

Welcome kate and I like the second option.

grumpy can you exchange the gifts or get store credits? Giving shoes and clothes are very tricky,
apart from the scarf my pil gave me and the sweater from my dad,I didn't get anything else! Dh and I decided not to exchange gifts this year
After the mayhem of the last few weeks,I have no desire for anything. I must sound mad to you all! But between house hunting and relocating abroad, and just other stuff going around ATM,we feel so drained and can't be bothered to shop! So we are saving our money and energy for SS14!
I'm thinking of flat rockstuds Wink

Mignonette · 27/12/2013 10:59

Santa Glad you liked it. Such a lovely drink.

Liberty I'm the same with out of hours/holidays. I get a sense of guilt but if you are sick you are sick and untreated could end up costing more time and money for you and 'them'. Hopefully it'll remit but if not- GO Smile!

OneLittleLady · 27/12/2013 11:01

thank you all, I'm so pleased. I have eaten plenty of nice things, chocs and cheeses mostly but have managed to keep portion size under control and not over eat for the sake of it just because it was christmas Grin

Welcome to Kate

GrumpyOldHorsewoman · 27/12/2013 11:02

Well done Barbie, hope it has a happy ending. I have to check anything I buy through Paypal as it often defers to our old address and we have a very poor relationship with the people who live there now. Stuff has gone there before which they've sworn they didn't receive (but we know they did), so I'm pleased yours were more honest!

Hope QueenC and Liberty are feeling better soon. Ill over Christmas sucks.

GrumpyOldHorsewoman · 27/12/2013 11:04

Oh Santa I'm so with you on the Rockstuds Xmas Wink

Topazandpearl · 27/12/2013 11:27

Queen, Ruby and Liberty, I hope you feel better soon. It is a tough time of year to be under the weather, so much pressure to be having a good time. Hopefully, though, the time of year means there are others around to take the pressure off. If you can, take it easy (feet up, on the sofa sounds good!).

Weather was wild last night. Both DC (21 and 18) were out, but amazingly I slept! Maybe them being away at uni has taught me not to fret as much.

Grumpy I understand your disappointment. The only item of clothing I received (a cardigan from my DSis) is so not my taste, but I know that presents aren't such a priority for her (some people just grab something "that will do"). It doesn't mean they don't care or can't be bothered to put the effort in. Though it can seem like it to those who do try to find the right presents for others.

Mig, that recipe sounds good!

Barbie, I hope you get your delivery soon.

We'll done One! You will be my inspiration. I want to lose at least a stone (major health-related resolutions for the New Year).

Waves to everyone else. I hope no one has to travel in this awful weather today x

Mignonette · 27/12/2013 11:33

Was awake a lot in the night because our guest dog (American Spaniel) was rather scared and shaking/pacing. Feel pretty tired today.

Wearing an old Westwood purple/navy striped A line Midi skirt, black T shirt and cobalt blue cardigan with Pour La Victoire Brogues. Not terribly imaginative.

GrumpyOldHorsewoman · 27/12/2013 11:48

Just thought I'd ask, as we have KateSpade on MNV if she can find me a pair of Licorice Too pumps in Rose Gold that I don't have to spend a small fortune in import duties on?

Or if any of you know of anything similar here...

GrumpyOldHorsewoman · 27/12/2013 11:49

I'm not going to share my outfit today.

You'd all be appalled

Xmas Wink
Barbie1 · 27/12/2013 11:53

grumpy are you in a onesie? Xmas Shock
