Am way behind - will catch up later. Just popping in to say huge Thanks to Shop. The silk A&W shirt has arrived, it's lovely - perfect fit and I will get lots of wear from it. DH loves it and DD says it's v pretty! DH commented yet again what a lovely group of ladies I have met on this thread! Smile

foxysocks · 04/01/2014 14:44

am a bit gutted you think the cobalt pash looks cheap, novice, am hoping mine doesn't. I don't think it does anyway, the leather is so lovely and thick and the stiching/hardware is fab. the medium is plenty big enough for me i find it such a great size, have used it almost constantly since my birthday.

i wear black skinnies queenc. mine are mango, i really like them. nice and long!

will be around a bit, i have wifi in my apartment, but don't want to spend too much time online over the next few months. part of my NYRs.

lots of love voguettes - see you on the other side!xx

I love the sound of planning in january - right up my street. Unfortunately DH is rubbish about holidays. Because he earns base salary plus commissions, it's the commissions that do the fun stuff - decorating, trips, holidays etc. This last year was all about decorating so we had a Dorset break at Easter and then stayed with family in Norfolk in the summer (thank God for a good British summer!). This year we'll have to see what he earns. The commissions aren't all that the new company promised they'd be. He has his sales kick off meeting in the US at the end of Jan, if they don't adjust his territory to increase his earning potential then he'll be looking for a new job. V volatile industry he's in and if the £££ aren't there you move on quickly. Scary now that he is sole earner though. So the long and the short of that epic post is that I am desperate for a decent (abroad), soul fulfilling, heart swelling, fab holiday - but it's in his hands Hmm. This is of course the man who said that "just being at home as a family is holiday enough for me". Of course, when we do get away he always asks why we don't do it more often!

Stressful Shop.

My husband won't turn work down because of the fear that it'll all be over and nobody will be able to afford building work/garden design etc. His company has done well but there's still that insecurity about how it will all go....

His NHS pension kicks in in 15 months though as he can retire at 55. If he'd have stayed in Psychiatry any longer than he did I think he'd have become seriously unwell. The pressure he was under was horrendous and I for one am glad I changed from my local trust because I would NOT be able to keep silent about the disgusting state it is in. I am campaigning instead and have worked w/ the local campaign pretty closely.

Decameron · 04/01/2014 15:06

I don't wear my black skinny jeans much either, Queen don't know why.

I don't think the pashli looks cheap at all, Foxy. I am trying to cut down on time online but it is going as well as no shopping!

Sounds like your DD is having a lovely day, Mig.

Drywhiteplease · 04/01/2014 15:10

QueenC I love my black skinnies. V flattering. I like them really black though, that's the problem.

The thing with my DH though is, any day, he'll go "right time to batten down the hatches"!!!!

BrandyAlexander · 04/01/2014 15:14

Oh Foxy, I shall remove my big foot out of my mouth, I am so sorry for being rudeBlushThanks I think it's the size of the bag, it's just so massive and that's what makes it look cheap compared to the two cobalt bags I have - Aspinal (which was cheaper) and the Balenciaga giant city. I would like to see the Pashli in the medium.

BrandyAlexander · 04/01/2014 15:25

Dh and I each earn most of our money in one lump sum payment at the end of the year. It's something like 1/3 we get during the year and then 2/3 are the lump sums. We have to assume we won't get the 2/3rds and therefore live on the 1/3rds. Dh can be a tad annoying as he really does assume the 2:3rds doesn't exist at all until the cash is in our accounts .

shopafrolic · 04/01/2014 15:29

Sounds as though our DH's operate in a similar way Novice - I keep getting told "it's not real until it's in the bank". Which, to be fair to him, is true!
On the bags Foxy, Novice is about the size of the large Pashli Grin. It's a beautiful bag - I was v tempted myself until I remembered I have absolutely zero funds ATM.

OneLittleLady · 04/01/2014 15:47

Lovely visit from DS today Grin spent the day limping between rooms trying to defrost the freezer as we have a new fridge freezer coming tomorrow and then giving Ds the attention he needs. Hectic really. Not very fashionable today, black skinnies rolled at ankle, black and white Beatles t-shirt and yesterdays purple cardigan

AmberNectarine · 04/01/2014 16:11

I did a lot of umming and ahhing over the size of my Pashli when it arrived novice, as being relatively small it did seem to dwarf me but actually it fits soo much stuff and I soon got used to it. I'm actually incredibly impressed with it - it is exceptionally well made and will stand up to a serious battering I think. Having had huge disappointments from Mulberry and Alexander Wang over the past couple of years I'm glad I kept it. Hope you all get well soon!

Good luck on your travels foxy - I'm afraid I fall at the irat hurdle and wear track pants (Zoe Karssen though).

BecauseIsaidS0 · 04/01/2014 16:13

Ladies, if any of you cared to share...would you kindly point me to your pins? (only if you'd like to). I'd love to get inspired by you all.
