Aaaah, cowboy boots. I have a pair in my wardrobe bought for me by my DMum in 1988. Soles, heels shot to bits but could never part with them. Have worn them once or twice in their shocking state in recent years anyway.

shop my friend isn't that good - she makes me spend money and has me hooked on Tortuga rum cake since bringing one back from Barbados for me. She's baaaaad.

QueenCadbury · 04/01/2014 07:34

Morning. foxy that's a pain about the boots. I thought you already had a pair though so knew sizes. Or is that something I've made up?? Can you risk keeping them and then maybe sell them on eBay if they're no good?

OMG OMG OMG! They have kids' boots!

Mignonette · 04/01/2014 08:41

I am embarrassingly addicted to CBB. Always have been so there goes my evenings!

Happy Birthday to my daughter who is 26 today! Flowers to her.

foxysocks · 04/01/2014 08:48

I ordered the size up from my current pair, queenc, as I can only wear the 37s with bare feet or tights. i think they might have standardised the sizing on the current batch of jalouse too, my friend reckon the 39s were a little smaller than her current 39s.

it's all ok, if they arrive today, great, if not it wasn't meant to be. Smile

foxysocks · 04/01/2014 08:56

happy birthday to your daughter, mig!

i have never watched BB or CBB, not about to start now.

Mignonette · 04/01/2014 09:24

Thank you Foxy- I am bursting with pride over her. 26!

It is raining and dank here. Just watching footage on TV of that absolute idiot taking his child to the storming seafront, narrowly avoiding being engulfed.

What to wear tonight for family meal out? I have this lovely shell top from last season that is in next seasons pastel colours. What to wear it with? Would it work with chocolate brown or grey cigarette pants and this bag? I'm thinking of wearing Brogues with it or heeled ankle boots.

Mignonette · 04/01/2014 09:43

Have you all checked out Local Mumsnet sites on Facebook? Hint, hint Wink.

Tell me what you think....

MarshaBrady · 04/01/2014 09:48

What a scrumptious outfit Mig, my favourite colours. Not sure which choc or grey.

Foxy I feel like I'm on that plane leading up to a long haul, makes me restless. Hope the next 24 hours are ok and it's not too stressful.

I haven't watched BB for years and years. I won't start either!

BecauseIsaidS0 · 04/01/2014 09:50

Mig, what a lovely top - I'd go with grey cigarette pants!

Drywhiteplease · 04/01/2014 09:56

Mig happy birthday to your dd. And I love those colours together.....brown for me.
Grumpy good god that cake sounds fab just what one needs after a Christmas blow out!
Foxy have a good trip. For long haul I'd wear jeans with a lot of stretch, layers and have a pashmina rolled up in my bag.
I have tried to wean myself off crap tv unsuccessfully BB was the first to go, a lot stayed though !

Morning! We are on day 3 of norovirus at chez novice. Once dc2 got it yesterday afternoon all hell broke loose. 2 days ago I was contemplating chucking most of my trackie bottoms as I don't wear them that much. Suddenly they are my wardrobe essentials as I was having to change them every hour yesterday! Dc2 is asleep in my arms now in the rocking chair in his room.

Only good news of yesterday was that we finally exchanged on our house sale so dh will stop fretting about having telephone digit number debt. Our monthly mortgage payments have been £9k for the last 2 months hence dh giving me a hard look when the Pashlis arrived. So, the bags are very big for my frame. I will definitely be returning the cobalt. It's hard to explain but it looked cheap and not something for which someone would pay £1k. I haven't had the chance to try out with a proper outfit yet, as they don't quite work with trackies, t-shirt and slipper bootsGrin

In non- fashion news, work has started on the new house. The builder, electrician and audio guys are all there. The audio visual guys are going to spend the next 3 weeks putting in some serious gadgetry so for example music will come out of the ceiling in most of the rooms. Dh is excited because they will also set up his cinema/games room. Something to cheer him up!

In phase 2, we are redoing my dressing room. If anyone has seen any good ones or has any recommendations, please let me know!

shopafrolic · 04/01/2014 09:58

Mig I just looked up Mumsnet Local on Facebook - there's only one page and it's got hardly any followers. Is that what you're talking about?
Happy Birthday to your daughter - have a lovely day
I'm with you Marsha no time for CBB - the contestants this year make that statement even easier to enforce than usual!
Foxy how long are you away for lovely? Will we lose contact? I wanted to ask you...... my friend has just got back from Thailand and tried yoga - she now wants to pursue it further. What kind of class should she hunt for as a complete novice?

shopafrolic · 04/01/2014 09:59

Oh Novice poor you! On top of everything else that's rubbish.

Mignonette · 04/01/2014 10:02

Foxy safe flight.

I would choose non creasable flexible fabrics. Nothing in thin Jersey as this fabric seems to feel so 'grubby' after sitting in it for ages.

I go for close fitting pants with stretch in them, a pair of flats that have some room in them, a slouchy T with a light sweater to put over or a jacket. I always carry a rolled up super stretch extra T for long haul in my cabin bag. This goes on after I have woken up from a sleep. A good scarf helps me feel covered when I am asleep like a comfort blanket.

These luxe track pants are also a good choice- not in jersey but in a cotton with cuffed ankles and drawstring. Poles apart from the sports version!

In my bag are face wipes- a must and baby wipes for bathroom refreshing of pits and other bits!

MarshaBrady · 04/01/2014 10:04

Yes if you are going into no internet zone we need to say a big bye Foxy, we'll miss you whilst you're gone.

Novice oh no illness, house - fab.

BrandyAlexander · 04/01/2014 10:05

Thanks Shop, my house smells of dettol.... no Diptique hear this weekend!Grin

Happy birthday to mini Mig! Love the sound of your outfit.

Safe trip to Foxy!

I know I watched the first 2/3 series of BB but haven't watched it or CBB since. I was a total tv addict prior to living overseas about 19 years ago. Dry, there's nothing like not being able to access your tv programmes to cure you of tv addiction!

BecauseIsaidS0 · 04/01/2014 10:08

I love this Lisa Elridge's video about her travel beauty regime. In fact, I implemented it on my last flight to NY and can attest it really makes a difference. The only thing I didn't do was keep my mascara on as I'm a serious smudger.

Mignonette · 04/01/2014 10:10

It's not the local page, you need to look up 'Mumsnet....and then the name of the county' ie 'Mumsnet Hackney' or 'Mumsnet Suffolk'....Smile

Have Pmed link Shop. I'd like some feedback if anybody is interested. There's only 5 weeks or so of posts so not too much to wade through!

Novice what a mix of good and not so good events. Noro is the devil really. Shortly followed by Rotavirus which went through our family despite strict barrier nursing Grin on my son's 1st birthday and all. Hope your little one continues to recover today and you get some rest.

Dressing room sounds so exciting. If my Husband and his firm were closer I'd recommend them as they do beautiful work (they've just fitted a dressing room into a 14C house- no mean feat) but they are too busy to take on projects more than 30 miles away. I have visions of you and your DH as Carrie and Big with a dressing room full of Manolos. Only you are more together than that fuckwit Carrie

MarshaBrady · 04/01/2014 10:10

I clicked on that Because and the air hostess' voice made me gulp. Here we go 24 hours.

Mignonette · 04/01/2014 10:20

When are you off Marsha? Tim Tams here you come!

santamarianovella · 04/01/2014 10:34

mig happy happy birthday to your lovely daughter,

Also a belated happy birthday to mini liberty! Cake

foxy safe trip,YY to stretchy jeans, and comfy top.we will miss u.

novice you poor thing!,hope you dcs are better soon, and that's was my exact reaction to pashli, something was off putting about them.
Regarding house renovations,we installed crestron system, everything from,tv,central heating, electricity,to window shutters are controlled on touch screen panels ,very convenient.

MarshaBrady · 04/01/2014 10:38

Haha! I can't do Tim Tams Grin but the name and that you know it makes me chuckle. It'll be crayfish, rare roast beef and if I could home made chocolate eclairs. Can't wait! Going Feb half term. Also meeting my nieces for the first time Smile. It's a family reunion, everyone is coming.

The only tough bit is the flight, and we travel at the other end after the long haul for a few more hours with domestic flight and car journey. The last bit finishes me off and by the time we get there I am a wreck.

But worth it I think for the clear beaches and sunshine!

MarshaBrady · 04/01/2014 10:38

And yes happy birthday to your dd Mig!

OneLittleLady · 04/01/2014 10:40

Oh you poor thing Novice hope you're all well again soon

Mig happy birthday to your daughter Thanks
