Calling on style and fashion fanatics, this is the space for frivolity and fun (though it gets a bit tense at sales time) Wink. All welcome.

love that dress shop I'm hoping that thinks go the way they are and my stomach continues to flatten out and I might just be able to wear that kind of style dress and not look awful Xmas Grin

Drywhiteplease · 22/12/2013 23:04

Shop I'm sure I saw that dress reduced somewhere today. Hmm will have a think. And yes coming to London Town for Christmas with ILs .

Drywhiteplease · 22/12/2013 23:05

shopafrolic · 22/12/2013 23:05

Proper shoe porn right?

shopafrolic · 22/12/2013 23:08

Right, must sleep. Big day tomorrow. Night all. X

BrandyAlexander · 22/12/2013 23:10

I did a post earlier but think it got lost!

Mini update chez Novice: I am much better! I have never halted a meeting before because I was so unwell that I actually thought I was dangerous. (Not people but decisions I make involve some large sums of money). I cancelled meetings for rest of Wed but had to go back on Thurs as client had flown 3000 miles to see me. Adrenalin powered me through that one!

Dsis has gone overseas and decided that she's not in a talking about it mood. We talk and text several times a day so I am respecting that and we are more chatting about shopping, clothes etc. Poor mum is in bits.

I normally have huge coping capacity but the house transactions, school and Christmas plus stressed out and non-contributing dh have overwhelmed me. Hopefully make it through the next 48 hours and that will fingers crossed be end of stress for a few weeks (dsis aside).

Just the last couple of presents to get tomorrow!

shopafrolic · 22/12/2013 23:14

Sending hugs your way as always novice - this time of year is so tough. I too have a stressed out DH who is not helping with organising other than chucking me cash Xmas Hmm. It's his end of financial year so the situation isn't set to improve until the new Year!

Drywhiteplease · 22/12/2013 23:15

shop PM!!!!

BrandyAlexander · 22/12/2013 23:15

Ooooh Shop, that's a proper swooon! Dh finally saw my Valentinos a few weeks ago. I wore them to dd's nativity play.Grin he was errm distracted especially with a softly moulding knitted dress.Wink They were just the right side of appropriate!

shopafrolic · 22/12/2013 23:17

I'll bet novice! Well played!

BrandyAlexander · 22/12/2013 23:21

Shop, yes, dh got his year end bonus news on Friday. It was very good news so I suspect he wants to run off and chuck a load of cash at my Xmas present and get me something blingy. I am genuinely not in the mood for it though. Yes, I really did just type that!Shock

OneLittleLady · 22/12/2013 23:22

Thanks for novice I hope things take an upward turn for you, you sound so stressed out and obviously worried about your Dsis

shopafrolic · 22/12/2013 23:23

Help! dry has found the Westwood at a good price in my size. 2 issues.... 1) it's viscose 2) I have nowhere currently to wear it
WWYD?

OneLittleLady · 22/12/2013 23:24

BUY IT!! not that i'm encouraging you, oh no

BrandyAlexander · 22/12/2013 23:26

Shop, what's return policy? Can you buy it and think on it?

Thanks One x Thanks

shopafrolic · 22/12/2013 23:30

Will sleep on it. If it's gone tomorrow then it wasn't meant to be. Looks as though they refund in full less the delivery charge.
It's the viscose that's putting me off........ Anybody own a viscose designer dress?

AmberNectarine · 22/12/2013 23:36

Not quite the same but I've had my eye on these. Think I might have spent enough on footwear in the last couple of days!

OneLittleLady · 22/12/2013 23:36

I think my M-MK dress is viscose and it doesn't feel at all horrible, cheap or nasty. It's slinky and feels lovely on

Drywhiteplease · 22/12/2013 23:37

novice Thanks you've had an incredibly busy few months. Moving house is one of the most stressful things you can go through, no matter how smoothly it all goes, just moving into a new house and unpacking is physically draining. Add to that your job, SIS and Christmas with no help......it's a wonder you're still in one piece. I think you're amazing . Chin up, you'll be fine. Hope you get a few lie ins and a bit of help from DH
Oh btw Foxy my DH is still sorting his studyXmas Shock.....it's a tiny room ffs!!!!!

santamarianovella · 23/12/2013 06:52

linus pm!

QueenCadbury · 23/12/2013 07:31

Morning. Love the holidays. Big 2 still fast asleep and little dd singing baa baa blck sheep and away in a manger in her cot. Plans for today are little dd to go to nursery and big ones and I to go and see frozen at the cinema.

novice look after yourself lovely. You must be v stressed to not want bling. It's hideous waiting for news because at least once you know you can start to deal with it. You're right to respect her not talking about it. Everyone deals with it in different ways Flowers

shop I think that's the same dress that I tried in in blue months ago. I don't mind viscose but then again I wear polyester o perhaps I'm not the best person to ask. The dress was lovely but do you really want to buy it and have it sit in your wardrobe? If you wear trousers/jeans mostly why don't you get a viv westwood top instead?

QueenCadbury · 23/12/2013 07:42

shop I forgot to say that I just use a big handbag for carting around dc stuff. My big bags are neutral colours-grey, navy and black so that they go with everything. I tend to just buy smaller cross body bags in colours.

Mignonette · 23/12/2013 08:36

Novice

I was in your sisters position last year. I feel for you all. Such anxiety and worrisome thoughts. Hoping for positive news for your sister and yourself Flowers

I'm not functioning today- riotous evening last night with far too much alcohol and the dining room looks like a student party has taken place in it Xmas Grin.
