Yep, I think it's pretty cheap, but not sure. There's a media request part.

MarshaBrady · 12/11/2013 11:55

Costs a lot to be this zen Hmm.

Or if not this time Shop, next time. I owe you!

shopafrolic · 12/11/2013 12:16

Whenever babes - I didn't come away thinking you owed me Hmm

Umlauf · 12/11/2013 12:16

Totally a week behind but amber I so agree with you/your post re: Jenna JCrew and that article. The Barbour looks very nice. I need a performance coat but am stubbornly ignoring the need, mrsR the hush one is getting a LOT of wear as it's my only coat with a hood and the rain is incessant! But it's so cold and I'm too chubby to fit layers under it.

Although... Drumroll... I fit back into my jeans this morning!! Pop open the cava please Smile straight back into pjs though so I can breathe out!!

shopafrolic · 12/11/2013 12:17

Well done Umlauf

MarshaBrady · 12/11/2013 12:18

Well done Umlauf!

Shop ah ok, anyway we'll chat then Grin (Liberty and Sleep I haven't forgotten!)

MarshaBrady · 12/11/2013 12:18

Yes that's what we need! Fizz. I don't drink red wine these days.

AmberNectarine · 12/11/2013 12:34

What were they spamming us with?

Well done umlauf - I only just lost the last 5lbs of baby weight and I had my DD 2.4 years ago!

santamarianovella · 12/11/2013 13:28

Hello everyone!
linus I hope you dd is ok,and congrats on fitting into a size 28,you must be very pleased.

umlauf well done !i remember crying the first time postpartum i tried to pull my jeans on and the got stuck at my hips!

amber I agree with your post ,j.crew has nice things, and its obviously not copying anyone desgins,I think a lot of designers are inspired by Jcrew, but jenna's style is so constructed ,and well orchestrated that I find it very un inspiring to try! It's obviously directed towards a certain market which I'm not very fond of!

mig I love the lighter jeans best! And if you will get a lot of wear from it then I think go a head with it!
I'm loving that we all blindly trust each other we don't need to double check facts! Grin

Ok,that spam is way too creepy!

No fashion news here, except that my dry cleaners ruined a brunello cuccinelli sweater Sad Sad Angry,It looks bit like this but with longer sleeves, the strange thing is that its not shrunk or anything ,infact its longer ,the sleeves are very long and so is the length,it was a nice cropped slouchy shape , what sall do? Words can't even describe the state of sadness I'm in

Umlauf · 12/11/2013 13:29

Thank you Blush I have by no means lost all the weight, and they're my baggiest jeans, but it's a proud moment! Although I may have lost my excuse to buy a new dress for ds christening..

Umlauf · 12/11/2013 13:30

Flowers mig hope it's over quickly

shopafrolic · 12/11/2013 13:45

Am about to try and watch Leaving while DS naps. There was a trailer for I Am Love with Tilda Swinton, has anyone seen it?

MarshaBrady · 12/11/2013 13:59

Not seen it Shop. Did you see MiC last night? A good one.

Santa yep. I like some of the styling and it looks good for basic stuff. But sometimes when I get on their site I get overwhelmed by the colourful / pastel blast of it all. Bit of an edit could be good.

Amber just some tv show request.

MarshaBrady · 12/11/2013 14:00

Santa Oh no about the sweater! Sad. So bad when that happens. I felt sad when ds2 broke another cup handle the other day, and that was only £8.50.

santamarianovella · 12/11/2013 14:15

Mig oh sorry, completely missed your post, hope you feel better soon.

shopyes, you should watch it, i became a huge fan of tilda swinton after watching the movie,,beautifully filmed.

shopafrolic · 12/11/2013 15:16

Loved Leaving Marsha v powerful. Have added I Am Love to my rental list too. Love Tilda - I didn't know she had done films in other languages.
Santa complain! They should be insured!

Mignonette · 12/11/2013 16:27

Oh no Santa. Is there no way you could get it altered by dressmaker? I don't know enough to say whether this is possible w/ knitwear but i have seen sweaters being cut into cushions so it must be possible?

I'm all done and dusted and currently relatively pain free although when the infiltrated LA wears off it'll be a different story. I had a GA too. I have finger mark bruises along my jawline-poor DH will get Confused looks from people maybe? Waiting for DH to bring the car round so I can escape before I get MRSA home.

Umlauf Well done- you look fabulous already BTW but have a glass of congratulatory Wine.

I watched 'How The Garcia Girls Spent Their Summer' a few days ago. It is about a daughter, Mother and Gran who are all in the throes of finding new love and discovering/rediscovering sex and desire. It is one of the few films I can recall that shows people in their 70's feeling desire and all that tumultuous early romance and actually having sex. Not chaste kiss on the neck chaste suggestive lovemaking but hand on breast desire. It is wonderful, nothing gratuitous but deeply moving, funny and w/ its Latina background, very interesting and culturally different. I love films like ths; 'Real Women Have Curves' is another one and both these films star America Ferrara (Ugly Betty). 'Tortilla Soup' is a third Mexican/Latina film set in LA where Raquel Welch gets to honour her own Latina origins by playing a Mexican/American glamorous love hungry woman chasing a widower w/ three daughters. If Netflix have these films I so recommend you watch them. The food in Tortilla Soup makes your mouth water. is a youtube clip of the start.

I always want to let my inner Chola/Ragga Girl out when i watch films set in suburban LA. I don't mean to use 'Chola' disrespectfully- i just mean that big gold earring, tight scraped back black hair, red lips, tight jean, heels and attitude. I am a middle aged white woman. About as far removed as you can get!

MarshaBrady · 12/11/2013 16:27

Shop It's great isn't it. So simple and strong. Just googled, she's half French, I didn't realise that either.

MarshaBrady · 12/11/2013 16:28

Well done Mig!

MarshaBrady · 12/11/2013 16:29

I also realised I've been spelling Kristin's name incorrectly for a long time.

Mignonette · 12/11/2013 16:34

Thanks Marsha.

I caught a clip of Peaches Geldof taking on Thrush (Hatie Hopkins) on TM. Doesn't Peaches look utterly beautiful and very Alberta Ferretti in her style and look. I think she chose Ferretti to make her wedding dress.

OneLittleLady · 12/11/2013 16:57

Hope you're ok mig Flowers

Ugh, absolute pig of a day, my bank card snapped, the bank won't let me withdraw any money over the counter without my card, my internet banking won't let me log on and they won't reset it over the phone, they have to send the info out by post, my tights ripped from crotch to knee in M&S and the heel broke off my favourite boots Sad

QueenCadbury · 12/11/2013 17:44

mig hugs for you. I've never taken erythro but I've obviously given it lots of times so know it's hideous side effects.

santa definitely complain. They should compensate you. I know that doesn't help your beloved jumper but at least you could buy something else. I haven't yet taken the westwood to be cleaned because I'm scared of it being ruined.

Grin at amber and her performance coat. Everyone succumbs to practicality in the end, first WIT, now you. Gorgeous coat though. I'd love a navy one and may get one next year.

Hugs too for one.

Drywhiteplease · 12/11/2013 18:19

Bonsoir mes très belles amies........ooh came over a bit ooooh la la.

I want to be on telly! I want to be on telly!!!!! Grin

shop love a good squelch in the mud !

Right, today I heard the words that fill any fashion loving woman with dread ;
" you need to dress up for children in Need" Shock Sad
And this year we have a theme; pjs or spots. Didn't really fancy spending the day at work in my DD's reindeer onesie so visited Primarni hoping to find something cheap and spotty and found this shirt. It's actually quite nice, £12 and 100%cotton. I like the denim shirt layered look not enough to spend on really though . I reckon it will be a useful piece . Will link a few looks but every time I try I loose the whole bloody post Sad
