Thanks, can't wait to swim in that clear sea.

What a great find Decam. Really lovely and fab price!

Shop not great, very hot and coughing which woke him up many times. Hopefully better tonight.

Turq love the peacoat. It's gorgeous.

Dry it's very tempting I agree.

OneLittleLady · 09/11/2013 09:55

Lovely skirt Decam

QueenCadbury · 09/11/2013 10:05

I disappeared last night as I had tummy ache and then was up all night on the loo. Must have caught whatever dd had. We both feel fine now though.

decam I very nearly ordered that skirt because of the bargainous price but then remembered tht I have zero need for a skirt.

turquoise it was me that started the musings on boots. I'd really like a day dress to wear with my knee high boots but have had no success finding one so far. I've also come to the conclusion that I don't like blue jeans with black boots anymore so will just stick to wering my calf length boots with black jeans. Lovely coat you've bought but I've only ever bought a linen tee from Zara which was rubbish.

shopafrolic · 09/11/2013 10:24

Marsha isn't Vicks on soles of feet supposed to help with coughing at night? Not sure. Think I saw it on here……… Hope he feels better soon, and you get some sleep.

MarshaBrady · 09/11/2013 10:35

Dh was stomping around at midnight but couldn't find the Vicks. If he does we'll do that, thanks for tip!

QueenCadbury · 09/11/2013 10:45

Poor you marsha. Hope you have a better night tonight. I find raising the bed up or using more pillows can help with coughing at night.

BrandyAlexander · 09/11/2013 11:01

Have a great holiday LibertyEnvy and lucky you MarshaEnvy hope ds is feeling better.

So mini drama yesterday in the novice household. We completed at 11am. Yeah! The sellers didn't give us the keys till 6pm.Shock Finally got in there last night and they have removed the oven out of the fitted kitchen!ShockShockShock Our solicitor is fab. Has looked at the contents form this morning and said yes it was definitely included. I have called the estate agents to say they have until cob Friday to return the oven or else I shall be buying a new one and billing them for it. That phrase money doesn't buy you class has never been more true!

So that aside, dh and I are a mixture of overwhelmed and excited. I think we had forgotten how big the house was, and the sheer amount of stuff that needs doing to it. Plus how little time we have. I am no Anni, with skills or patience, so this weeks task is to get an interior designer.

The weather is foul here, so I can happily say I don't look fashionable! Primark Breton top under a cream cable jumper (bought from a market years ago and survives the annual cull as I wear it a lot!) with always skinny gap jeans, a Barbour jacket and Aspinal biker bag. Oh and merrells boots. Jewelry is aquamarine and diamond ring by wempe, tiffany charm bracelet and a next watch from 20 years ago! Sleep, see! there is a high street girl in there!Wink

QueenCadbury · 09/11/2013 11:11

Completed at 11 and gave you keys at 6 Hmm and taken the oven. Not good. And what idiots, to take the oven when it was included in the fixtures and fittings list. Anyway have a Wine in your new house tonight.

MarshaBrady · 09/11/2013 11:13

Novice how exciting! And what a cheek! re the oven. Wow. Thank goodness for contents lists. And how wonderful to get an interior designer. What a great job to do.

QueenC thanks yes, he was in our bed and did have his head on either me or dh pretty much all night. Perhaps a pillow would have been easier Grin

Turquoiseblue · 09/11/2013 11:18

you have my sympathies Marsha, hope DS is ok, yeay to the Australia tripSmile. I sometimes put olbas or eucalyptus oil drops in a bowl with warm water in the room at night and the best tips we got was to keep the heating low or off in the bedroom.
Think I m going to keep the coat - and cross fingers it doesn't fall apart after 10 wearsWink

Dec I love that skirt - I have a similar one I wear with a sweater like you suggested, but it also can be dressed so easily -not sure about the all lace look though.

OneLittleLady · 09/11/2013 11:23

Exciting news Novice can't believe the cheeky beggars took the oven though!

Marsha poor DS. Fab news about Australia though

BrandyAlexander · 09/11/2013 11:27

Thank you! My mouth was like thisShock when we walked into the kitchen. Also, they tried to flog us the curtain poles, tracks etc for £2k and we said no. So, they have removed every single one of them. Basically anything that could be unscrewed they have done. It's so weird and petty!

BrandyAlexander · 09/11/2013 11:28

Marsha, I could imagine you being fab at interior design.Smile

LinusDKD · 09/11/2013 11:35

Wow novice that is cheeky (well, I could think of a ruder word) to take the oven.

You're right. Money can't buy you class, I see examples of that every day here.

Did they think you really wouldn't notice or mind a great big oven missing???

marsha a humidifier in the room also helps with coughing. We have a plain Vicks one and I think as of a certain age you can add a eucalyptys patch so the vapours are extra soothing. I think they sell them at
Boots.

And yes to the Vicks on the soles of the feet and the chest. Mine are too little for Vicks but we use a similar product for small children.

We went to visit Dsis in Oz when DS was 11 months old but haven't been back since. Maybe in a years time when DD is 2 and DS nearly 4 we will go back.

queenc hope you and DD are ok.

decam that is a gorgeous skirt!

liberty safe travels!

MarshaBrady · 09/11/2013 11:40

Novice Shock. The previous owner did the same here, including lights that were in walls and just left bulbs in ceiling. I think the previous ones did it to her so I kind of understood why she did it. We had six weeks without curtains, whilst they were being made, which was fun.

Interior design must be a lovely thing to do, the styling / fun part at least Grin, one day I hope to fully do my own dream home, the next one perhaps. I think Santa did/does it!

Thanks for tips Linus and Turq, we have olbas oil and no heating at night.

Thanks One, hope you had a nice relaxing evening yesterday and the weekend is ok.

OneLittleLady · 09/11/2013 11:47

Marsha I bawled my eyes out at Phantom of the Opera. Am trying to convince DP to take me to see it on stage Grin

MarshaBrady · 09/11/2013 11:47

Did you? haha take the tissues if you do!

OneLittleLady · 09/11/2013 11:53

I really did, at the end though, only the end! I've never seen any stage versions before so even though I knew the story, it still cut me up!

QueenCadbury · 09/11/2013 11:55

I've gone from feeling fine to awful. Feel really light headed and shaky. Trying to get as much fluids into me as possible to replace what I lost last night. Good excuse to sit on the sofa all day though Grin. Wearing my favourite comfort clothes of Nike sweats and north face moss bud fleece!

OneLittleLady · 09/11/2013 11:55

hope you feel better soon QueenC Thanks

MarshaBrady · 09/11/2013 11:59

Oh noo QueenC hope you don't get too bad. I'm in exercise gear and dh's slobby cardigan.

Why can't I find my comfiest I&I grey cashmere sweater?! Where can it be?

Am going for a run. Dh - you're not going running are you it's raining... ohhhh yes I am.

OneLittleLady · 09/11/2013 12:03

It's cold with bright sunshine here currently. Doesn't look like rain at all

Drywhiteplease · 09/11/2013 12:28

Just recovering from monster step class( with bandssleep!!!) in gym cafe with coffee!
Poor you queenC keep drinking... Sounds like a horrid bug
Shop chin up, hope today gets better... And hope DH left you some wine for later.
novice cheeky beggars! My mother always told me to leave loo roll and light bulbs in a house ... Classy lady!
Grin love love love putting a room together, I get v excited about soft furnishings...... Have just made a roman blind for new k/diner. ....can't wait to do my new bedroom etc next year. santa are u an interior designer useful
Swimming in warm sea.... Ooh marsha

OneLittleLady · 09/11/2013 12:34

Dry my mum always told me something similar about houses you were leaving. Her list included leaving a bottle of wine on the kitchen counter, loo roll, soap and a hand towel in the bathroom and leaving the light bulbs in all the fittings. She said no one should ever be so cheap as to take back light bulbs when they leave a house

shopafrolic · 09/11/2013 12:49

Novice I can't believe that - awful! I left teabags, milk and a bottle of Prosecco in my last house when DH and I moved in together.
Dry class sounds impressive - my back is absolutely killing me ATM - all the physio and starting Pilates again I guess.
Enjoy your run Marsha
DH called from the shoot - enjoying his male bonding. I was wiping up Peppa Pig yogurt off the floor - classy.
I've realised there are a few things I bought last year that I'm not feeling this year. My A&W cords in the paler colour (it's too pinky), my Ash wedge trainers - and I shrunk one of my mohair sweaters. I need a few bits to fill the gaps but am broke until after Christmas so will have to wait for the sales.
Dry did you manage episode 2 yet?
QueenC - sounds rotten. Flat, warm coke?
