I forgot

Fragonard perfume at m&s. I have been wearing the patchouli and vetiver ones and they are divine.

I forgot too mention - Kiehl's BB cream. I resisted the BB Cream thing for a while thinking that it was maybe a bit over-hyped but I love it so far and covers more than I thought it would.
And UGG slippers - my best Christmas present ever Smile

Yes. Plum mascara is fab. Mine from ysl and does look plummy. Wipes off red though. Scared the crap out of me. Looked at wipes wondered why my eye was red...

Also discovered dry shampoo. Batiste. You have saved my life on many an occasion.

wiggy I use coconut oil to cleanse (oil cleansing method) I use it to moisturise my face, as a hair mask as a hair serum and for oil pulling.
I get the organic raw virgin stuff from Tesco. Its only £6 for a biggish jar and it does everything!

Ditching black eye pencils for MAC's Pearlglide range - incredible, iridescent colours. Can use Industrial to do a subtle, navy blue line or do a bolder look that ripples from navy to turquoise, like a peacock. Ditto their green one. Can't wait to get the purple one (my eyes are a real mix of colours).

Never had so many compliments about eye make up. Black gel/liquid eyeliner is still great but I don't think I'll go back to plain black kohl.

mashpot I've got a cupboard full of freebies I've acquired over the years or been sold by hairdressers. Basically they're what we used to know as mousse but these days are sold as "volume / heat" sprays. My favourite (so far, as I say I'm working through a collection!) is the purple pump/mousse from Schwartzkopf. Because my hair is fine I just use that at the roots and then I put a few drops of argan oil on the ends morning and night staying well away from my fringe!

Laura Mercier " Black Gold" eyeliner. Looks gold in the pencil, but turns into a very flattering soft black.

Femergy supplements here are like Rocket Fuel. They really work for me.

Chanel powder blushers last for years and are worth the money but Bourjois are made in the same factory and are even better value and pretty much the same quality.

Matalan night wear is really good quality. I have PJ bottoms and a cheniile dressing gown that are made really well, good seams and wash well.

New Look t shirts that are made of cotton marl last years and do not stretch, shrink or fade.

A pair of Gap cigarette leg pants in black, navy or grey will transcend seasonal fashions. If you can afford it, Helmut Lang or Stella McCartney cut the best pants. Joseph are a good mid range. Buy the best quality narrow suit jacket you can afford and if you buy the matching pants, wear them together or they will soon cease to match due to wear.

A narrow dark blazer/suit jacket worn w/ jeans/pants and a T will always look modern. Change your shoe and accessories according to the outing/occasion. Make your shoes the focal point when wearing this.

A good bag and good shoes make all the difference. Get new shoes reheeled and soled and treat them well.

Don't bother with Mulberry bags. I have three and they are not worth the money. Go for a classic bag by a company such as Loewe, Bottega Veneta, Hermes (!), Furla, Vuitton or The Bridge. They are all master craftspeople in leather. Fashion bags won't last if you need to use them most days.

Doctor Martens biker boots last ten years or more if you look after them. They look the coolest too.

Boots Cucumber face range is super fresh and excellent quality and all for under £2.

Lanolips lip balm and face cream lasts for ages. Clinique City Block is like Winter insulation for the face. I love using it in the cold. It feels like a layer of warmth.

Sun protection keeps you looking younger. Everything else is useless if you roast your skin in the sun and go unprotected year round.

Yes to Cucumbers! Shower Gel wakes you up in the morning. A big bottle lasts ages.

Boots Botanics BB cream.

Bourjois Healthy Mix (I didn't get the MN hype at all, then realised I had bought the ickysticky Health Mix serum foundation instead...now I have the proper stuff I am converted forever. Have bottles of Dior/Chanel/Clarins left lying around half full that are nowhere near as good as the HM)

Revlon lip butter. Together with Carmex I am now able to wear stuff on my lips again after years of lips being too cracked and crappy. MN told me it was the copious quantities of Vaseline actually wrecking my lips rather than helping.

30% GA acid peel stuff from ebay.

M and S Indigo Collection leggings are the bollocks, and Asda bras (34DD as opposed to 38C Grin) are brilliant.

Ooh, looks like it's going to be this thread! 2nd the bb creams-boots botanics for me.

House of colour-colours & style day, great fun & so insightful. Limiting myself to a palette of colours where everything goes means I can just throw on any combo of things in the wardrobe. It's remarkable.

So excited to try plopping, pulling & oil bun, (also ruby woo, pearl glide liner)

What ailse is the coconut oil in in tesco? Hope they have it in my small town

Yy to believing I was 34B when I'm actually 30E, it's changed my life...thanks mn.

Learning I don't have to just wear mum jeans and baggy jumper dresses now because I'm a mum and I can still look quite cool and quirky like I did pre-children. I can buy clothes in topshop instead of boden.

Hush...I love hush.

High street clothes are just as good as designer clothes and quite a bit cheaper.

I've steered blear of BB creams since trying a Garnier one which made me look enbalmed. But have just discovered Estee Lauder Day Wear BB cream which is FAB.

Clinique Chubby Sticks v good.

Redken Extreme products have saved me from hair hell following some damaging highlights.

RevoltingPeasant Thanks for the earlier tip re Burts Bees under lipstick to give a sheer effect. That's one I'm going to try. I struggle to find sheer lipstick and it's what I prefer for daytime. Smile
