The colours thing? Did you find that the colours you were drawn to before the consultation were the colours that suited you?

I just live in black, grey and navy and would be vair unhappy if I was told I needed to wear orange, purple and pink. I just couldn't bring myself to do it!

Home acid peels (thanks to the old S&B sizzlers thread)

Applying foundation with a sponge rather than fingers

Paula's Choice skin care - can't say enough good things about this

Neutrogena 3 in 1 spot free moisturiser (that name isn't quite right, but it's close) has been amazing for cleaning out my congested pores. It contains 2% salicylic acid.

Clinique antioxidant night cream, which comes in different formulations to suit all skin types, is fabulous.

I've really started taking good care of my skin this year (oily, occasional blemishes) at the grand old age of 36. Have seen great results and wish I'd always been so diligent.

Nip & Fab glycolic fix scrub has transformed by red/spot Prone skin, this combined with gentle rather than over cleansing means I've had one breakout in four months and that went by midday (if I don't count the horror that was my face reacting to La Roche Posay sunscreen and looking like I had chickenpox for three hours despite washing it off as it started to burn!)

Spend the most you can on bags and shoes

Evening primrose oil capsule, pierced and spread on face combats central heating/cold damage (thanks
Sali Hughes)

Mousing wax -nothing else holds my natural curls without crispness

Body brushing. I was told (bullied) by beautician that I needed to body brush. Every day. Before showering. My skin has changed feels so soft.

Apparently it moves toxins around and disperses fat cells. Allegedly.

Also clarins face scrub.

Soap n glory body scrub.

Not saving clothes for 'best' why the hell should I not wear nice clothes every day, even if I'm only going to the shop!

Onelittlelady totally agree. Why should we not dress up nice every day.

Getting 8 hours sleep! That means being strict and, shock horror, NOT MNing staying up till silly o clock at least four times a week.

Yoga breathing, lying down, and putting my feet up the wall.

Getting out for a walk in the sunshine everyday at lunchtime.

Aloe Vaseline up my nose in over a/c offices and on the tube, stops my nose from drying out.

Cutting down of sugar helps me look 10 years younger. Drinking weak herbal tea (liptons Moroccan spice, and mint as well) is more palatable than 8 glasses of cold water. I make a big pot and drink from it all day.

Lactic acid moisturiser from eucerin has made my skin so smooth.

Crackfox may I ask how the sponge helps with makeup application? Do you do this 'bouncing' motion that I have read about? I mostly just smear my makeup into my face like Lady Gaga in that video. Feel I must improve...

mrsbouvier I think it just means you get a better application. I always use a brush for foundation. More even coverage. Also stops fingers getting all make-up-y

Dr Martens boots. If you look after them.

Nivea in shower moisturiser. Got rid of my eczema but makes the bath very slippy!

Body Shop seaweed moisturiser in a teeny tiny amount moisturises better than a large amount of anything else. And doesn't go shiny throughout the day.

Buying clothes which are actually the size I am now, rather than waiting till I'm slimmer to dress nicely!

This thread has cost me a fortune!

Yy to Ruby Woo and Mac Pearlglide - and as a result of my foray into Mac I can now say I've found the best mascara ever. Optimum Lash. Brilliant stuff.

Lilli - Aveda Pure Abundance gets great reviews. You'll probably get more advice if you start your own thread on this topic. More people will see your post and will click on the thread title if they have experience of the issue.

My revelations are to blot my foundation after application & the press & roll method for my powder. These two have been small but powerful!

Is sonicare no good then Snog? I'm trying to decide between that and Braun...

Oh and my revelation is realizing that I need to wear quite fitted clothes.

Dh has just bought the sonic are after years of using the oral B - he was advised that the oral B was too sore on gums.
