If you were in your 40s and going out 'clubbing' what would you wear?

I usually wear skinnies and high heels but am getting bored of it. I have decent legs but hate my norks.

If skinnies, are there any nice tops around? If not skinnies, what?

ooh ooh me too! get it! and not a huge size

AlaskaNebraska · 15/09/2013 20:59

im looking hard.
are whistles big or small sizes?

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 15/09/2013 21:01

Whistles dresses are usually a v bad shape for me - huge across the back but tight on norks. I like their skirts, which are quite true to size. Tops are enormous.

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 15/09/2013 21:01

Don't like the giraffe one - too loud.

Was in Matalan recently and the counter staff told me they are online now and she implied you could order, not just view the items.

AlaskaNebraska · 15/09/2013 21:05

yes youd need to be pretty gutsy

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 15/09/2013 21:23

This would suit me and I'm short enough to wear it as a dress. Would be too hot though.

LIKE klaxon

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 15/09/2013 21:34

I might try it on for evenings in the pub.

OP posts:
AlaskaNebraska · 15/09/2013 21:36

reviews say its tight

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 15/09/2013 21:37

Which should mean that a 12 will fit and not be too big!

I like the shorts rather than the dresses. That body Con look is something ds mates all wear in an ironic 80 s way but on older I think a bit formal and mum at a Xmas do. The shorts with loose top v nice.

BetsyBidwell · 16/09/2013 15:46

Linea weekend dress arrived today
just wrong - I think maybe too small, I got a M which was 12 - 14 but it lacked that " just thrown on" vibe

noddyholder · 16/09/2013 15:59

I hate anything that doesn't look just thrown on in fact I think that could be the definition of mumsy

BetsyBidwell · 16/09/2013 17:53

yes, i think you may have a point. I looked a bit parcelled up.
MIND YOU the alternative is remus wearing TOO BIG stuff hard stare

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 16/09/2013 17:54

I'm going to try some shorts on, if I can find some that are not super-short.

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 16/09/2013 17:55

Have worn super-clingy skirt to work today and have had many nice comments. :)

OP posts:
RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 16/09/2013 17:55

Shame about the dress.

BetsyBidwell · 16/09/2013 17:56

I looked to see if there was a L. nope

BetsyBidwell · 16/09/2013 17:56

i have a matalan tube affair I am saving for colder weather. With the new boots ( see sep thread)

mysticminstrel · 16/09/2013 17:57

I wore this clubbing recently: www.amazon.co.uk/French-Connection-Lovely-Lorine-Balsamic/dp/B008VE7R4E

If you're a 12 I'd go for a size 14 as it was one the small size (am also 32E and struggled with my boobs in the size 10).

It's a nice length and covers upper arms.
