If you were in your 40s and going out 'clubbing' what would you wear?

I usually wear skinnies and high heels but am getting bored of it. I have decent legs but hate my norks.

If skinnies, are there any nice tops around? If not skinnies, what?

hi I really like the new leather pencil skirt at sainsbury put it with pair of plain black court shoes What i would suggest is not to go too over the top with jewllery let the skirt do the talking. also another upside it doesnt matter what gets spilled on it wipe off and just keep dancing

Screwfox · 15/09/2013 17:03

love that - its like that Phase eight dress we all got that time! Youd have to get it not too big on the top of youd look heryouage

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 15/09/2013 17:08

Thanks Clackie. Pencil skirt too worky though, even in fake leather, especially with court shoes!

What about a jumpsuit and high heels? Is that off the Richter scale?

I have this very same issue, once a year every time I have a night out. I end up wearing a variation of the same ole ding dong. Tho I did buy a leather panelled dress last year, jeez it's a godsend. I have a friend with this. She is amazing in it. 40 next year. Prob 5'3, 5'4 at a push. Not for me, unfortunately. For you?

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 15/09/2013 18:15

Thank you, Lurking but the idea of me in a jumpsuit fills me with horror. :)

lurkingaround · 15/09/2013 18:37

Grin Yes I know Remus! Filled me with horror too. And then I saw her in it and the horror changed to Envy!

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 15/09/2013 18:38

Grin You'd see me in it and your horror would change to nausea.

Obvs it's you. :) But why am I a silly cow? I AM - but why are you telling me so? :)

Lurking with intent. Have first night out in 4 MONTHS on Thursday (NCT Girls' Night Out obv - shoot me now!) and given i haven't worn anything other than stretch jersey for a year and a half, I don't know what to wear. And also a stone lighter with J size bf boobs. Sadly still 5’ 3”. I look like I'm about to topple over any moment.

Am thinking skinny jeans (soz), black vest and kimono/waterfall style gauze jacket which is black and navy with elbow length sleeves. Hard to explain but quite nice on. Skims boobs, covers ham arms, shows flash of chest at front but not at the side.

AlaskaNebraska · 15/09/2013 19:40

you slagging yourself off

AlaskaNebraska · 15/09/2013 19:40

i find kimono makes me look BIGGER up top

FreeButtonBee · 15/09/2013 19:42

Oh god, don't say that, will I look like a ship about to set sail?! And DH is unlikely to be honest as he thinks the boobs are the best thing ever. And all Honest Friends are unavailable.

AlaskaNebraska · 15/09/2013 19:44

post a pic - no head? i wonder if with all that up top you might look a bit like a funnel

AlaskaNebraska · 15/09/2013 19:44

my best going out jacket is a pleather biker thing i got YEARS ago in whispers wallis

AlaskaNebraska · 15/09/2013 19:45

this kind of thing but without the "rib" detail!

AlaskaNebraska · 15/09/2013 19:46

..as i am on there, this might be highly flammable in rl but the shape looks nice?

www.wallis.co.uk/en/wluk/product/clothing-265973/jackets-blazers-2181084/black-pu-collar-blazer-2222705?bi=1&ps=20

also matching black with black makes tits less obv.. then get huge earrings to detract?
