A happy and safe place to talk fashion (from high end to high street), beauty and the arts. All welcome to bring a positive state of mind, lots of links and an eye for detail.
Continuing on from here

mig yes get professional adbice on now to get the mark of your Choo.

GBBO tonight! Thank God it's not a fast day, otherwise I couldn't watch it.

mignonette · 17/09/2013 20:51

Am watching GBBO but its getting a little too 'Pro'. These are home bakers and the level of detail and polish is not home baking. Loving it though.

LinusDKD · 17/09/2013 20:58

I think the challenges are ok really, but to me it seems that the contestants don't know the basics but prefer to concentrate on how things look. Style over substance.

I love Kimberley though!

Drywhiteplease · 17/09/2013 21:06

Yup agree Linus Kimberley is amazing. I like the welsh lady too....her macaroons are wonderful. I tried to make them once....difficult!

Drywhiteplease · 17/09/2013 21:08

Anyone else feel like a biscuit? Grin

shopafrolic · 17/09/2013 21:12

I have no idea what any of you are talking about!?

OP posts:
Drywhiteplease · 17/09/2013 21:15

The Great British Bake Off Shop

LinusDKD · 17/09/2013 21:17

I have a whole cookbook with nothing but macarons but I haven't had the courage to bake any yet.

I do want a biscuit dry but it's time for bed so I'll be good.

shop Grin

shopafrolic · 17/09/2013 21:44

I have nothing to contribute Grin

Hi everyone! I've been trying to keep up during the day but this is the first time I've had the chance to read through properly. I was watching the Bake Off too Smile I love it, although I agree with Linus that it seems to have been style over substance this year so far, much more than in pervious years - the man who went tonight had very clever ideas but they often weren't very appetising looking and the idea of edible glue put me off my hot chocolate Wink Back to compiling my workwear board on Pinterest.....

Drywhiteplease · 17/09/2013 22:02

Out for drinks with girls tomorrow pm.....mmm what to wear? back to fashion

bloomingheather · 17/09/2013 22:03

Erm, that was meant to say PREvious years Blush

GrumpyOldHorsewoman · 17/09/2013 22:06

Oo oo - Fabulous Fashionistas on ch4 now!

Drywhiteplease · 17/09/2013 22:49

Shop that was your chance o thow a Biscuit .... I've not done that yet, have always wanted to!

Drywhiteplease · 17/09/2013 22:49

Grumpy what show? Will upload it to IPad

GrumpyOldHorsewoman · 17/09/2013 23:07

Dry it was called 'Fabulous Fashionistas' and was on Ch4 starting at 10pm. Unbelievably fabulous women, every last one of them. Wait until you see the 87 year old choreographer (still working full time). I was like this Shock Shock Shock Shock (and throwing in a few swear words).

libertychick · 17/09/2013 23:09

Gosh busy here today. I was reading earlier and really touched by all the queries about if DH is talking to me yet!! He is - apparently he looked at our finances yesterday and got stressed about it then along comes his DW merrily swinging a shopping bag with the most expensive thing she has bought in a while - finances chat this evening - his mind is at rest and martial harmony is restored.

Mom poor you, burns are so painful - hope you are ok and that you heal well.
One hope surgery went well today.
Shop - hope you are feeling ok now. Good tip a friend of mine gave me is to remember to comment on good behaviour all the time - I do lots of saying to DD how good she is to be 'walking SO nicely holding Mummy's hand' - we had to use reins for a while too as she was a holy terror for taking off.

Sleep I did think of you when I was in Hampstead. I will be at a meeting there again in about 2 weeks time so once I have details I will pm and if you have time for a coffee/shopping it would be lovely to meet.

Emailed both Sandro and CdC today with the feedback as suggested so will be interesting to see if I get replies.

Dry I have a yoga class tomorrow - will see if there are any takers for the 'blotus'

GrumpyOldHorsewoman · 17/09/2013 23:12

Liberty I'm definitely up for a blotus tonight (cup of tea after my 9pm cut-off)

MarshaBrady · 17/09/2013 23:14

Fabulous fashionistas sounds perfect for us here too.

Had a good evening. The Book of Mormon is pretty much what you'd expect from South Park writers. Ie bad language and very close to the bone (a few moments where I thought eek am sitting between the parents) but actually quite uplifting at the end and good performances. They had a standing ovation, the audience loved it.

Had yummy dinner now waiting for the bus, rock and roll for me.

libertychick · 17/09/2013 23:20

Grin at Grumpy!
Sounds like a good night marsha
Night all.....

QueenCadbury · 18/09/2013 07:54

Morning. I have my style mojo back. Finally feeling and looking vaguely normal. Yesterday in the hairdressers was hideous looking at myself with red swollen watery eyes and a big red nose!

Just a quickie- has anyone got Boden straight leg jeans? Are they any good and what's sizing like?

Drywhiteplease · 18/09/2013 07:58

Mig hope you're ok after your fall....bit late, had missed that bit.
Thanks Grumpy I'll watch that show

shopafrolic · 18/09/2013 09:11

Marsha does buses? Who knew?????? :)
Can't help with Boden sorry QueenC
Recorded Fab Fashionistas yesterday so hope to watch during naptime.
Wish me luck - I'm taking DS to the shops. Repeat after me "I will not be beaten by a toddler"

shopafrolic · 18/09/2013 09:20
