A happy and safe place to talk fashion (from high end to high street), beauty and the arts. All welcome to bring a positive state of mind, lots of links and an eye for detail.

Yeh exactly!

Annianni · 18/09/2013 09:53

Dry your typo's do make me laugh.
Please type faster :o

Mig hope you're ok after your fall.
Is the shoe mark from your fall?
Hope it comes off anyway.

Shop you are a good mother.
I threatened ds2 with being carried out of the school yard yesterday when he kept trying to take his coat off in the rain.
We live on a busy road too, we had the gate tied shut with string over the Summer, I just couldn't take the risk of him running off.
Luckily dhl man was very good about tying it closed after he'd been :o

Have you worn your lovely new coat yet Liberty?
Or had a reply to your emails?

Cos coat number 2 is due for delivery between 1 and 2, which means no zoo today what a shame
Will try and do photo's later, with boots etc... but we painted the bedroom floor last night, so i've lost my photographic studio until it dries :o
It looks fab though, so pleased!

I've been wearing this scarf for the past few days. It's huge and lovely and soft.
But was £10 cheaper when I bought it.

Lovely gloves arrived a few days ago, they are so soft. And an absolute bargain for £12 ish.

Annianni · 18/09/2013 09:54

Japan!?
Marsha aren't you about 8ft tall and blonde?! :o

MarshaBrady · 18/09/2013 09:58

I am quite tall and yep blonde! Maybe it's the new thing to get people talking or something. Did make me laugh so nearly worked.

MarshaBrady · 18/09/2013 09:59

And ha at 8ft Grin the heels help.

Annianni · 18/09/2013 10:00

I love GBBO and will watch it tonight, along with the fashionista program.

I want to look like Daphne when i'm older.

My mother has very short hair, my aunt has got short hair, and my grandmother had the classic roller/set thing going on.
I don't see why I can't keep my hair long, as long as it's in good condition.

Annianni · 18/09/2013 10:03

I'm off to make some chocolate lollypops with ds2.
He's just watched Mr Tumble and wants one.
He's very excited.
I may regret this...
:o

Hi everybody

Have lovely bruise on side of my head and yes Anni the slide along the floor left this weird black mark on my new shoes Sad but DH dropped them off at the cobblers and he says he can remove it. DH said the cobbler loved the shoes which made me feel a bit funny (remembering the SATC Charlotte and the shoe fetishist episode)....Grin

Liberty Glad you were able to reassure DH.

Queen Glad the red nose week appears to be coming to an end and that you are feeling better.

I missed Fashionistas last night (drat) as wandered to the pub to drag DH home meet him for a late night drink. Tonight Marianne Faithfull is on 'Who do you think you are' and will try to watch that as apparently very good. I am looking forward to that documentary/film 'Scatter My Ashes In Bergdorfs', trailer here which looks really cool and features the amazing Betty Halbreich along with the Carinne Roitfeld film.

Today I am going to look for a pale pink A line midi skirt that I want to wear with a Citrine coloured sweater or a petrol blue shirt. I have a very specific image in my mind of what I want. Whether I will find it is another matter. I am wearing my mustard yellow Adidas cowl draped skirt with the petrol shirt and my black shoe boots from Gap.

LinusDKD · 18/09/2013 11:42

Poor mig! I hope the bruises fade soon.

Yesterday I had a look at a trailer for Mademoiselle C and it looks really interesting! I had never hear C. Roitfeld speak and she comes across as a quite shy person but very likeable.

I've just had a look at the trailer for Bury My Ashes at Bergdorf's and it did reminded me I wasn't quite so taken with that shop when I visited NY.

Of course they had beautiful clothes, accessories and shoes, but the shop itself and the decor just didn't do it for me. It all felt a bit cramped to me, maybe because the ceilings were a bit low and visually the items on display were a bit too busy.

anni that scarf is lovely! They seem to have had it in a raspberry pink I have been looking for for ages, but it's sold out.

shopafrolic · 18/09/2013 11:52

Yes!!!!!! Successful trip - he held my hand in the car park and along the high street here. Long may it continue. I wore the new peacoat - it is just gorgeous - so pleased I kept it - I keep giving myself admiring glances in the shop mirrors!
Mig glad the shoes can be sorted and hope the bruising comes out quickly and the pain soon passes

Yey Shop junior knew he'd do it....see, good Mummy, told you!Smile
I'm saying good bye to my dining room....being stripped as I type ready for knock through on Monday.....why are we having visitors to stay this weekend?
Something ominous is going on under my oak floor in the hall, a couple of floor boards are lifting Shock

Annianni · 18/09/2013 14:03

I will do pics Shop [brave emotion]
But probably not today.

Uniqlo cardigans are here, nice slouchy fit on the body, but sleeves are too wide and long (i ordered the men's)
And they're itchy (lambswool)

Think I'm a delicate soul and should stick to cashmere and cotton :o

Annianni · 18/09/2013 14:04

Glad the post office trip went well Shop.

QueenCadbury · 18/09/2013 14:27

Yay for master shop.

I missed my ash boots. Going to collect them tomorrow. If they fit I shall wear them out with dh on Friday night and after a few drinks be brave enough to tell him how much they were Grin.

What's with it being so cold in the mornings? I need more scarves. I've never been into them before but since having my colours done I can see what a difference they make if you wear the correct colour. I'm after a cobalt one and thought I'd found the perfect infinity one in river island the other day but when I took it off it literally made my hair stand on end!

shopafrolic · 18/09/2013 14:46

Grin QueenC
I just watched Fabulous Fashionistas. OMG so inspiring! The woman who still works in retail looks absolutely awesome! I'm going to watch it again tonight with DH - loved it.
Anni I hadn't even considered the fact that the arms would be baggy - shame. I bet the coat looks fab, no need to post if you don't want to......
Dry sounds exciting and a little scary - I'm amazed at your energy for entertaining. If we do one weekend I have to slob for at least the following two!

Well done Little shop!

I wore my Colts for the first time today and they do need getting used to. Maybe it's because I rarely wear heels as a SAHM but I can really feel it in the balls of my feet.

Oh, and they are tricky to drive in. Maybe the leather is a bit too rigid still and it needs to 'give' a bit more?

nice cross body bag for McNally

I hadn't forgotten you but I just hadn't seen any nice ones recently.

MarshaBrady · 18/09/2013 15:18

I may have just had to get a taxi this time due to too many Liberty bags.

Will be back with links Grin
