mig those are fierce shoes and that Acne dress is beautiful.

If that CR film comes out on dvd I might buy it but I haven't been to the cinema in years. Sad I used to go twice a week when I was at university.

anni I like the sound of your outfit!

Nice jacket decam!

GrumpyOldHorsewoman · 17/09/2013 10:57

Just dropping by (as I should be working) to say hello.

This thread has moved so fast! Haven't been able to catch up on it all yet, but had to say how Envy Envy I am at Liberty 'popping' into CdC, followed by Sandro, followed by Zadig. I do miss London sometimes.

Also Anni I didn't manage to retrieve the invitation to the board - any chance you could try it again? - I have the same nickname on Pin. TIA

Umlauf · 17/09/2013 10:58

Morning all. My Pinterest name is in fact emilyhavana, not my RL name as I had thought it was! So that is who has been following you all!!

mom sorry to hear about your accident, it sounds awful. I've had a couple of face burns and would echo turquoises recommendation on 8hour cream once the scarring has gone down a bit. A doctor in Spain prescribed distilled water to clean it with whilst it was healing which worked wonders as well. I hope it heals quickly and you feel better soon.

Have a lovely time at Bicester amber I used to live nearby and miss it loads! DH gets really freaked out by it and we managed half an hour on my last visit in the summer Hmm

I'm loving the coat chat, coats are definitely the most important part of my wardrobe! I keep swinging from one extreme opinion to the other on the Ganni check one, half the time I love it and the other half it reminds me of those giant plastic bags you find in pound shops. I do love tartan and checks though, I had a fabulous school uniform and checks bring up the nostalgia!

mrsR what did your colour diagnosis come out as?! I'm thinking of dyeing some off my old clothing in "bad" colours but gooood shapes, was wondering if you'd tried and had any success that? I know only some fabrics will take the dye...

mignonette your outfit sounds stunning, very Hitchcock belle! Cigarette pants are my real fashion envy, I love them but do not have the right body shape.

What do you think of this dress as a loose/comfy but smart ish dress for a winter Christening and for the Christmas season? Good legs are all the pregnancy has mercifully spared so I don't mind the length and the colour is one of my good ones... Not too £££ either so if it only fit this season it wouldn't be the end of the world and it might be adjustable?

MrsRadicchio · 17/09/2013 11:09

Shop the breton is still available! I can "reserve" it for you as a off out now.

Umlauf I am a winter. I've dyed cottons, and cotton w elastane. Used dylon in the machine. Its worked really well and I would recommend it.

mignonette · 17/09/2013 11:10

Linus Thank you for my cardigan. I hadn't spotted that one and do like it. Issa, who'd have thought?

UMlauf Yes to the dress and good price too. You can ring the changes in w/ different tights, cardigans/jackets too. That'll show the legs off. Could it go over slim pants too afterwards? I like dresses over pants.

mignonette · 17/09/2013 11:11

Umlauf can you pin one of my pins and then I'll be able to find you on pin as that name came up w/ another pin name....

santamarianovella · 17/09/2013 11:17

Umlauf · 17/09/2013 11:33

Glad you like the dress! mig I've pinned some of your art pins after becoming very engrossed!!

bloomingheather · 17/09/2013 11:34

I love that jacket Decameron - it's a beautiful colour. I had a major clear out of my wardrobe during the summer so I'm building it back up again and need some workwear especially and I think that would fit in nicely. Will add it to my list Smile.
I'm in winter clothes today too- I was so cold yesterday. Got my winter tights on too Dry! Cosy COS ones with a Whistles Navy 'Dotty' Dress here.
Anni completely understand about the board. Have good days everyone.

Sleepwhenidie · 17/09/2013 11:40

I am loving the mnv board, it has exploded! Couldn't resist adding my own pic of DC's - they are all so sweet aren't they. Love the minions Amber!

I have a nice long afternoon ahead, think I may head to the V&A (after I've caught up a bit on here, honestly, miss a day and everything has moved so fast Shock)!

mignonette · 17/09/2013 11:41

Glad you liked them Umlauf. I have odd taste at times in art...Grin

Sleepwhenidie · 17/09/2013 11:48

Liberty next time you are in Hampstead let me know, we could grab a coffee (or just browse a few shops together) Grin.

mignonette · 17/09/2013 12:59

Just had a furious altercation w/ the absolutely sodding useless BT who only capitulated when I told them I had recordings of all my calls and would send them to their MD and Guardian Money if they didn't stop pretending they'd not received my earlier request to cancel services they still insisted on trying to charge me three months in advance for.

Now breathe......

I have had it up to here w/ them. I need to buy something to make me feel better.

Sleepwhenidie · 17/09/2013 13:03

I feel your pain Mig. I got a letter yesterday from Carphone Warehouse, to summarise - 'you know you told us back in 2011 to cancel your phone insurance...well we didn't because we can't stop standing orders, only you can do that with your bank...but we never bothered mentioning it then, and we kept taking the money...and now we can't take standing orders any more so if you don't set up a DD your cover will cease next month'...they have such a bloody cheek!

mignonette · 17/09/2013 13:08

Sleep Go directly to Guardian Money consumer page if you get no joy. I am sick, sick SICK of these incompetent con artists. I record everything now (telling them first) and go straight to the top. NPower had to pay me compensation when one of their delightful robots told me I was lying about making a payment when I had the bank statements in front of me. So I sent the files to aforementioned newspaper, the recordings to their MD and threatened to put them all over the web.

(Can you hear the hysteria coming through?) I was receiving anything up to 18 calls a day from their debt collection dept chasing money I never owed. I had to pay for call blocking from BT which they failed to cancel in July and are now trying to charge an in advance payment until Nov! i told them where to go on that and to take me to court for the payment i withheld for a service I cancelled months ago. Told them I'd submit the recordings to the court.

Decameron · 17/09/2013 13:56

I have had the same problem with Carphone Warehouse and Direct Line. Extremely annoying.

Pistols are great, Shop and look very nice lined up beside my black ones! It's worth asking My-Wardrobe to apply the discount, as MrsR says, and you can go through Quidco for cashback.

shopafrolic · 17/09/2013 14:40

I've decided that since I'll only ever be able to afford one pair of Pistols in my life they have to work hard - so I'm going to hold out for
these ones which were my first love :)

Must be the day for irritating big corporate companies Mig - my car manufacturer is claiming that the steering rod breaking on my car is not under warranty! Angry

OP posts:
mignonette · 17/09/2013 15:45

Shop Record everything. They hate it when you tell them you have done this. I'm sorry to hear that. One wonders whether they employ a whole office of gits who spend their whole time researching how to get out of warranties/agreements/policies.....Grrrrr

I have just got back from the dentist and a quick shopping trip to pick up some more tights. I fell over in M&S because it is wet outside and obviously it is being trailed all over the tiled floors. I was so embarrassed especially when a clutch of managers (who seemed to be having one of those 'block the shoppers way' shop floor discussions) came rushing over to stop me suing them help me get up. So have bashed head where I collided w/ a display, a sore wrist and battered pride. I got three pairs of black woolly tights though-My Nora Batty look is coming together.

Must be a triple low Biorhythm day!

Drywhiteplease · 17/09/2013 15:57

OMG we've all syncned up....I've just come off the phone to Virigin crap media long story and talked faster and faster, more and more high pitched and nearly cried Shock pathetic wimp . Shop Alexas looking rough Grin love Pixies dress though.
Linus don't show QueenC any more cobalt dresses, you'll get her all confused!
Blooming love that dress from Whistles

Today I wore merino jumper and a vest, was not too hot. It's gone cold so quickly.

shopafrolic · 17/09/2013 16:00

Dry are you saying I'm fat? Grin

Sleepwhenidie · 17/09/2013 16:04

I am drinking tea in the very peaceful members' room at v&a, no need for yoga here Smile. I have been admiring diamond encrusted snuff boxes (who knew such things could be so beautiful?) and glass sculptures - oh and the 'club to catwalk' 80's fashion exhibition, great fun. I am the epitome of zen...but talk to me when I'm home with kids making necessary phone calls in an hour or so and I suspect this may have changed Wink

Sleepwhenidie · 17/09/2013 16:06

I wondered about the blotus position too Shop - figured it was collapsed-starfish like on sofa/floor, burying screaming face into a cushion Grin!

Sleepwhenidie · 17/09/2013 16:08

Dry your typos just get more and more hilarious!

Mig I hope your bumps (and pride) heal soon xx
