Hello all,
Have attempted catch up s but been so frantic, just unable to keep up. Have sat and read through this edition, lovely links. Sorry too tired to do individual hellos but hi to everyone.
Novice- I sympathise on losing things - my dh told me the other night that I needed a cloud for all that s in my head at the moment after a few especially dotty days.
these arrived last week, as a replacement for my last years boots.
I have a lovely pair of Stewart weisman boots - but they ve gotten really loose and the stiching frayed at the top of them last year, dh brought them to his cobbler who ruined them trying to stitch them, I brought them to someone else who made it worse. I m just so annoyed no idea if they can be salvaged or where to go with them. They don't stay up any more. So disappointing.
In other news I picked this up last week and it s been fab with grey skinnies, cobalt blue with black leather trim t, and the lovely jalouses! I had pinned the iro version, but want more boots and coats! I really recommend it! here

LinusDKD · 16/09/2013 06:51

Morning!

santa I was holding a pair of rockstuds in my hands last week and they are a thing of beauty.

dry I have been lusting after a Wesco bin for ages but unfortunately I can't find one in the colour or size I like in the shops here.

Lovely jacket turq!

Imspired by the turned up jeans and ankle boots pins I am trying my Jimmies (I swear, I do wash them regularly) and my Colts but I am not convinced they look good together.

From the front it looks good but I don't like the way they look from the side. I do look and feel very tall so that's a bonus.

Drywhiteplease · 16/09/2013 08:01

Day 5(ish) of black ban.
For work I'm wearing;
red skirt,first wear
In grey
Grey wooly tights
black slippers

I showed DH the fushia pink and red combo, he was Shock Grin " bloody hell, you'll be asking my mother for fashion tips next"........how very dare he! Sad Grin she resembled a deck chair at my wedding

MNV am I having a mid life crisis? I'm, by nature, a lover of sludge colours and black with a hint of colour. Would I look a Pratt in pink and red? my collegue and family think the idea is Shock

shopafrolic · 16/09/2013 08:05

Turquoise that's awful about your gorgeous SW boots! :(
Linus poorly? Get well soon. I love my Jimmies so totally get the wearing loads thing.
I'm wearing my Goldsign Lures today - they do great things for my bum - totally recommend - I think it's the pocket positioning (and the super stretch).
Hopefully it's peacoat day today - but I need to pop out this morning so fingers crossed I don't miss the DHL man!

Shop, on another thread it says SHOEACCESS25 is valid till midnight tonight if you want to try those Pistol's?

Dry, photo please of pink/red outfit and we'll be gentle.

Annianni · 16/09/2013 08:42

Mom, how was the bake show?

QueenCadbury · 16/09/2013 09:16

linus I'll join you in the snuffling. Also have a croaky voice. Am hoping I sound sexy but fear I probably sound like I have a 60 a day habit.

dry if you can wear red and pink with confidence then go for it. It's a look I love but not brave enough to do myself. I'm channeling you today in my turn ups.

Off shopping now. Will report back later!

Turquoiseblue · 16/09/2013 09:22

Dry I would do the pink red combo - but minimal everything else - what about footwear ? What do you plan? And only a fine small necklace or stud earrings ....
Has anyone seen the other ganni coat (pink) on frugality s post about lfw she is wearing it - I love it. Now that would look great over your top and skirt dry!
I need new grey skinnies - would love nobody cult skinnies in grey as they are my all time favourite fitting.
Today I m in mason scotch Parisienne jeans in red with white kooples sport knitted layered tank and black pony skin studded fCUK pointy flats, grey biker. Threw it on in a hurry but very happy. Off to see if I can persuade a seamstress to unpick and repair my boots, or insert a new super long zip.

Turquoiseblue · 16/09/2013 09:23

Has anyone tried 360 cashmere ? Have my eye on a sweater of theirs will see if I can link later

MarshaBrady · 16/09/2013 09:29

Morning lovelies.

I had to keep the two hours this morning with lovely nanny. It is the same one that I let down when I quit, I couldn't do it again! So even though the meeting has moved I am in a cafe with espresso.

I wanted to go to Bond St or get hair done but including train time it wouldn't have been long enough, so have to stay close by.

Turquoise love those boots what a shame about the stitching. I hope you can fix them.

Dry I love pink and red but not sure I could do it. It's a great combo see how you feel.

Shop peacoat day! Smile

Ganni have good coats, I'd not heard of them til now.

Feels odd being down the road having a break, but it's sunny and this is lovely so I'm going with it.

shopafrolic · 16/09/2013 09:36

I have a Ganni breton dress Marsha which is fab - haven't seen the other coat Turquoise will take a look
Dry post a pic on the MNV board and let us (the jury) decide on the red and pink - I reckon you could totally do it
Marsha sounds idyllic
Off to walk the hounds - I fear I am coming down with a stomach bug - feel really lousy. May go to the bed once I get back while DS is at nursery (what a waste of free time!)

libertychick · 16/09/2013 09:48

Quick wave to all - enjoy your free couple of hours Marsha.

Dry I have tried red and pink a few times and never felt completely comfortable with it - DD looks great in it though Smile - try and see how it goes.

Hope you are not ill Shop - resting early is a good idea though.

Anni respect on the DIY - my arms get sore drying my hair so I can't imagine what they'd be like after papering a ceiling Grin

Thanks for all the Zatchels feedback - I am still undecided, getting the right work bag combination is the bane of my life.

But on the positive side I may have found the perfect alternative to the Burberry coat and I'm stupidly excited as today I will be close to the shop in question so will get to try it on - yipee. Will do links after trying on - have pinned it though.

Good luck in the Burberry shop today (is it today?) Decam - I'm looking forward to hearing your feedback....

Great outfits described here in the last couple of days - don't have time to comment on them all but you are all very inspiring!

shopafrolic · 16/09/2013 10:44

the box has arrived........

McNally · 16/09/2013 10:52

You tease shop! What's the verdict?!

bloomingheather · 16/09/2013 10:56

Morning everyone! I love that Hobbs skirt Dry. Ganni new to me too, will have to investigate it Smile. libertychick I find it really difficult to find a work bag too that is big enough but not too big - I use a Zara leather bucket bag from last year just now but it's far too big and I consequently fill it with so much that it is becoming back breakingly unmanageable!

McNally · 16/09/2013 10:57

While shop has a trying on session, just wanted to say I've been following over the weekend and some lovely outfits. Love the red skirt Dry. Hope it's debut is successful. Pink and red is bold but if the tones are right you could totally carry it off.

Annianni · 16/09/2013 11:10

20% off at m&s today.

Shop you tease!

Liberty my arms were sore when I was drying my hair earlier :o

libertychick · 16/09/2013 11:16

Shop!!!! Quick report on the coat before I have to go out....

Blooming I could write a thesis on work bags - one day I will find the holy grail of
(a) not heavy
(b) big enough for laptop/A4's
(c) structured enough to keep the laptop safe but not so structured that you can't squeeze in extra bits
(d) properly stylish, makes you sigh a little bit with pleasure when you see it
(e) less that £150
(f) leather (but TBH this is becoming less of an issue)
(g) zip top

I have a bad back so currently using a backpack Sad - ruins every outfit I put together (TBF I have an easy life when this is my biggest daily problem!!!)

libertychick · 16/09/2013 11:27

I have to go now....Grin

Annianni · 16/09/2013 11:31

Liberty, what about a leather messenger bag?

mignonette · 16/09/2013 11:32

Hi all.

MrsR I subscribe to 'The Frugality' too- she writes well and her pics are interesting. Plus I have those Grensons.

Dry gorgeous menu. My oven was finally fixed today hooray so I can use the oven again. Am sick of stove top. However having to entertain the repair guy at half seven was not conducive to a good mood. However I have some good news - I HAVE A COMMISSION TO WRITE AN ARTICLE BY A MAJOR NYC FOOD WEBSITE. Sorry but I am saying it in caps loud because I am so happy.

Welcome Blooming Glad you liked the Westco. It's gorgeous isn't it? I too am a ten year Parka girl. I first had a real RAF one in the late 80's then lost it and bought another after seeing La Moss in hers in the early 90's. Have owned one ever since but have been wearing ardently for at least ten years. I have retired mine for a while (except for dog walks) because there are so many but can hear its siren song from the cloakroom....

I have mislaid my gorgeous Paul Smith block heeled pumps over the weekend. I took them off to walk the dog and put them in the car but I can't find them now. ..

Shop Feel better soon. Yes, get undressed ,go to bed if you can w/ laptop and magazines (and some flat Coke if you don't have anything else)...

Liberty Have you looked at Cambridge Satchels? They do lovely structured and stiffened bags. All kinds of colours and collaborations too.

shopafrolic · 16/09/2013 11:44

Sorry Liberty a whole host of badly lit shots are up on the MNV Pinboard now. Please be brutally honest - I can't bear keeping things if they're not right.........
I actually love the Peacoat - I've looked at it with my colour swatches and it seems to blend, although there isn't a brick colour quite as dark as it in my swatch. It goes with jeans, and black, and works with my Dagmar sweater, and the A&W camel stripe one...... I think it'll get a lot of wear but over to you.
And Novice there's a special Pin just for you Thanks
Thanks Mig and congratulations - that sounds v exciting

Annianni · 16/09/2013 11:47

Well done Mig, how exciting!

Hope you're ok Shop.

Liberty, I've sent you a couple of pins of coats I've just seen.

mignonette · 16/09/2013 11:48

I'm slowly working towards quitting my job so this is another prod in the right direction.

MarshaBrady · 16/09/2013 11:50

That's great Mig, really happy for you.

Shop am out atm, will check it out later.
