A happy and safe place to talk fashion (from high end to high street), beauty and the arts. All welcome to bring a positive state of mind, lots of links and an eye for detail.

I think I will put away my distressed jeans for the winter as I think that I just somehow prefer them for a summer look.

dry I wear gap real straight all the time too as well as their boot cuts. I am definitely going to copy your look of just turning them up like that over heels. I need to get some heeled boots i've decided as I don't have any for going out in.

QueenCadbury · 15/09/2013 16:48

I like these but need a much cheaper pair. I wouldn't get my cpw as they'll be going out boots.

shopafrolic · 15/09/2013 16:55

So peacoat owners (present or past) - before the Chloe arrives tomorrow, how do you style yours?

OP posts:
MarshaBrady · 15/09/2013 17:11

Shop I think I just did skinnies, sweater and ankle boots. I also love this.

QueenCadbury · 15/09/2013 17:25

shop I wear mine with whatever I'm wearing to go out in. Mine/'s short one though so goes with dresses/skirts as well as jeans/ trousers.

OneLittleLady · 15/09/2013 17:32

My peacoat was stolen last winter by my sister and has yet to be returned Hmm I may get it back this winter as she has said she's buying a new coat but we shall see

Drywhiteplease · 15/09/2013 18:07

I'm back in the world of the living after copious amounts of tea and a few little snoozes.....still wearing the body warmer though Shop

Marsha I love a lace top I do.....lovely look.

QueenC I don't know why but I feel my jeans look better with a little turn up...I really like the fitted bf jean look. Have a look on my "Looks I like" board, there are loads of jeans ideas that I copy

smart
casual
animal
stilletoes
I copy this with blue Nancy and my M ans S animal slippers
have a Gap sweater in a similar colour
with my fitted red blazer
did this exact look a lot last year and will again this year too

OneLittleLady · 15/09/2013 18:08

All my jeans are turned up otherwise they are too long Grin I like to pretend it's because I'm working a 'look' instead of it being for practical reasons

LinusDKD · 15/09/2013 18:32

Ditto one!

I might ask DH to take in the trouser legs of some of my skinnies though as I think they will look nicer like that with my newly acquired biker boots.

anni I know you are the queen of the bargain premium denim. If you see some Paige Denim, Goldsign, James Jeans or J Brand in a dark grey or black, can you please let me know?

I am also on the lookout for nice long sleeved tees for winter. Apart from my beloved Splendid and AV tees, I bought some very nice and bargainous tees from Asos for summer, but they don't have any nice long sleeved ones at the moment.

Feeling completely bleurgh at the moment. My cold is getting worse, tomorrow is a public holiday so the nursery is closed and DH is traveling again this week.

I am sooooo tempted to buy that P Lim bag to cheer me up but it is just too ££££ for a mere pick-me-up.

I am secretly hoping the Aigle Cuckmere looks better on me than the Moncler so I can spend the difference on the bag. If I do I might have to hide it from DH until the new year as he will be Hmm if I buy another bag.

shopafrolic · 15/09/2013 18:40

Linus I have a J Crew code for 25% off if you want to try some of their long sleeved tees........

OP posts:
LinusDKD · 15/09/2013 18:51

shop Thanks

I did pin this one recently as I would like to try it in white and navy but as I am on a shopping ban (or more like a savings ban so I can buy a new winter coat) I am looking for something a bit cheaper at the moment. ignores the fact that the P Lim bag could buy 15 tees

I was really impressed by the Asos ones but they don't do them with long sleeves at the moment. I will definitely try the JCrew ones once my winter coat has been bought!

santamarianovella · 15/09/2013 19:20

Evening all !
Had a lovely afternoon with sil, lunch and a bit of shopping ,perfect!
Saw lovely boots but they are either open toe ( why?) or very high,or very £££,so didnt buy anything, did buy a pair of frame denimjeans, they need to be alterations ,so will get them on wed,

sleep hope you had a good evening and eventually a good night sleep!

dry sounds like an amazing party! Love the book Grin

linus I'm looking too for long sleeved tees, in white and burgundy I. tried this today and its exactly what I want but it's too pricy for a simple tee, it has a cashmere mix, very warm and not bulky, i will give the J crew a try,

shop pea coats go with just about everything , ankle skinnies and boots,or even wide leg trousers,

bloomingheather · 15/09/2013 19:34

Hi everyone,
I'm a long term one-who-lurks and love reading through your threads. I have been inspired so many times by items I've seen posted here and love the mix of high street and high end, although over recent months have been caught up in a new job for a long time and haven't been able to keep up. I thought I would have a look today and was hooked in by shopafrolic's lovely, welcoming opening post Smile.

I am looking for a coat (and maybe a jacket!) for winter and have seen one that I would really appreciate some opinions on?? Parka. I would probably be wearing it with skinny jeans, converse or ankle boots. It's waterproof, which is great although I'm not sure about the fleece in the hood. Hope you are all having lovely weekends. Thanks in advance!

bloomingheather · 15/09/2013 19:42

Oh and for those of you who are looking for long sleeved tees, I recently bought this www.cosstores.com/Shop/Women/Tops/Fine_cotton_jersey_top/46885-3782912.1#c-7032078 which is lovely and soft. Probably not everyone's colour but they also do it in navy, grey and a berry colour. It is very fine although I think I get away with a nude bra underneath and will usually have a cardigan or jumper on top anyway for layering purposes (I'm always cold!).

shopafrolic · 15/09/2013 19:46

Awwww shucks Blush thanks bloomingheather and welcome. What a fab coloured parka! I don't mind the fleecy hood, just not quite sure about the button down panel with the circle on...... But having just googled um coloured parka - there's not much out there is there? It really is a great colour and would look fab the way you're talking about.
Tell us about you..... Are you on Pin?

OP posts:
MrsRadicchio · 15/09/2013 19:52

I agree its a great colour blooming (and welcome!) but it looks like it could add volume to your shoulders though. Shame they don't show it on a model.

Lovely t-shirts too.

QueenC have you seen these
black
grey

shopafrolic · 15/09/2013 19:52

shopafrolic · 15/09/2013 19:53

Are you tall blooming?

OP posts:
Annianni · 15/09/2013 19:53

Hi Heather, lovely parka.
I practically lived in mine last A/W.

Linus, what size do you want?

Lovely pins Dry.

Drywhiteplease · 15/09/2013 19:54

Hello Blooning do stay, the more the merrier, it's nice on here. Like the parka. My only thing is how tall are you? It would drown me (5ft3)

Linus ahem, did you say DH can take in your jeans? A man who can see? That's fantastic!!!

shopafrolic · 15/09/2013 19:55

Best typo ever Dry
Right lovely newbie blooming or heather ? We're rubbish at long names - do choose. :)

OP posts:
Annianni · 15/09/2013 20:00

santamarianovella · 15/09/2013 20:00

i vote for heather ,
welcome!,love the the color but i personally dont like fleece,

santamarianovella · 15/09/2013 20:05

and thanks for the tees recommendations,

bloomingheather · 15/09/2013 20:10

Ah, great comments, thank you so much! Yes, you're right Shop, I'm not keen on the circle thing either, especially as it has writing on it (I'm not keen on things like that as 'added extras' generally). And yes MrsRadicchio, it would be much more helpful on a model. I'm 5'5" although am quite narrow shouldered but these are great food for thought. I really don't need to be spending more money on something that isn't as perfect as I can find Smile.
Ooh, about me....Well, I am 36 and live in the west of Scotland. I'm a teacher and have my own (very small, nay mini!) business too. I am on pinterest shop but don't have much on there that I have updated although am trying to steadily add to my Autumn/Winter clothes board! I'll link it to here when I manage to work out how.
Good call on the nickname too. I am very fond of blooming but blooming will do!
