A new princessing/defrumping/groomed challenge

HelgatheHairy · 23/08/2013 18:09

So last year on 15th September I started a thread about a 100 day challenge to take us up to Christmas.

There are a few people who are interested in another try this year so this is a preliminary thread to see who's interested and people can gather any things they want. I'm sure most of us have a few face masks and things lying around.

This year I think we should include a defrumping element to the challenge which will focus more on clothes.

The grooming element is about putting the whole look together.

Am I making things too complicated??

The first link has the guidelines for princessing but there are no guidelines for defrumping and grooming.

I have a 13 day old DD so might not always get a chance to come on but will do my best to keep things up to date.

So are people in?

bugger, birthday bunting didn't post how it looks in the box on my phone. hopefully it looks ok if you're on a laptop or similar! Smile

Karbea · 30/08/2013 09:32

lucy looks lovely on my phone ;)

I'm going to have a protein shake for breakfast. I've a gay stag do tonight, so will be eating and drinking, so the shake is a very small contribution to eating well :/

snapes I'm using up body lotion so currently using Nivea, it's so thick you can hardly spread it!

tartiflette · 30/08/2013 09:38

Happy Birthday Numtum Thanks

Hmm two coffees down so far today and a wedding reception to go to tonight... HOWEVER I'm very much focusing on the grooming for now. I've decided low carbing/IF will start next week and exercise can commence in earnest once preschool starts on the 9th. Staggered start!

In other news I am in possession of a new notebook (though no clue what to write in it beyond my list...) and am painting nails with my new Chanel Frenzy today, did face mask last night although I strongly suspect it was out of date so hope that wasn't counterproductive...!

Karbea have fun on the stag do Smile

tartiflette · 30/08/2013 09:39

Ooh yes I love Nivea

Karbea · 30/08/2013 09:49

Tart I'm going to be using up a lot of old stuff, I've got cupboards full of stuff and loads of samples, all very old!

HelgatheHairy · 30/08/2013 09:51

Well I'm having to give up coffee. Baby really doesn't like it. Tried twice and it resulted in screaming both times. She doesn't mind me having 1 mug of tea though.

General Thread update so on 1 sept I will be starting a new thread. You can check in same as you are doing on this thread. There will be a countdown to Christmas Eve, it will just start at 115 instead of 100 like last year.

So I just need input on what you would like it to be called. I know some people don't like Princessing but I think using princess means people know straight away what the thread is about.
Or as this is more of an all over change we could do something like Operation renovation or operation transformation.

TheYamiOfYawn · 30/08/2013 10:11

I like Operation Transformation/Renovation. With the countdown to Christmas, I like the idea of this thread (and its successors) as a sort of Christmas present to myself, so that I will up on Christmas morning feeling fabulous inside and out.

obrigada · 30/08/2013 10:16

Am I too late to join? Just found this thread and am marking my place.

JemimaMuddledUp · 30/08/2013 10:16

I don't really like the word "Princessing", but agree that at least everyone knows what it is. I can cope with it if I think of Zara Phillips - rugby players and horses are more my cup of tea than looking doe eyed in a tiara Grin

JemimaMuddledUp · 30/08/2013 10:18

Although I do like the idea of Operation Renovation, I am imagining a C4 programme with plans and spreadsheets detailing the changes I need to make. I may need scaffolding and a full risk assessment!

tartiflette · 30/08/2013 10:35

Count me in for some scaffolding Grin

Karbea · 30/08/2013 10:58

I don't mind princessing, but to be far I don't think a princess would have some of the issues I have with my wardrobe (too much primark Katie???) I love operation renovation!

Protein drink done and some vits taken (need to order more).

Snapespeare · 30/08/2013 11:01

'operation renovation' is fab!

ate my lunch already (not fab)

on my third 500ml bottle of water though.

HelgatheHairy · 30/08/2013 11:02

So this morning I've managed to tone, moisturise and eye cream, which is more than I managed yesterday at this time!

OP posts:
Blueandwhitelover · 30/08/2013 11:46

I've dyed my hair and moisturised. Later today (after I actually do the planning I'm procrastinating on) I am going up to the bathroom to throw away more old half used lotions and potions.

lucysmam · 30/08/2013 12:01

I quite like Operation Rennovation too Smile

Just on our way to softplay, armed with 1l of water and will get more with lunch.

Fully made up, hair straightened (up-do looked pants Sad ) have noticed that my toe nail polish is growing out a bit Blush so will home pedi later on & paint something a touch more autumnal than my summer brights.

Glue arrived earlier for my ghd's...
I am schooopidly excited to have them back in working order Grin

Karbea · 30/08/2013 12:20

Ok, used shower gel with scrub in it (when this is used up ill do scrub and shower gel), I put on a 20min hair treatment, exfoliated bottom half legs, moisturised, toned and moisturised, did all hair treatments, put on a little make up, and an old brown dress.
Haven't had any water yet.

JemimaMuddledUp · 30/08/2013 12:32

I have just realised that I am double oily fish eating today. I've planned salmon for supper, but then made myself a tuna salad for lunch as I forgot. That is good though, right?

bigkidsdidit · 30/08/2013 13:24

It's very good jemima :)

I'm struggling a bit with he DC (2.5 and 9 weeks) and tbh this thread is the only thing keeping me going at the moment! I can't manage diet / exercise right now, it's a step too far, but as soon as DH gets home each night I take myself up to the bathroom for a nice bath and to get away from the crying . Tonight I am having an Epsom salts bath and doing a face pack and repainting toenails.

I'm managing hot water wih lemon in te morning, taking imedeen, using rapid lash eyelash stuff and moisturising too. drinking lots of fruit tea and eating some fruit, so I'm not doing too bad :)

Blueandwhitelover · 30/08/2013 14:21

Ok, I have thrown away all the half used bottles of old lotions and potions. I have a nice box now of samples of things to use.
I thought I had some face mask things but I don't.
Any recommendations for a complete beginner? Preferably that I can get in Superdrug as I'm nipping to the shops in half an hour.

Paintyourbox · 30/08/2013 14:36

Right so far today I have taken my fish oils and vitamins, applied some foot cream, filed and polished my nails, had a salad for lunch, exfoliated, moisturised and started drinking plenty of water.

For anyone with foot issues, I can highly recommend the soap and glory foot file. I was dubious when I bought it but after using it for 3 days in a row my feet look fab!

I need some fake tan tips- I am useless at applying it but really want to look a little less ghost like!

Haribojoe · 30/08/2013 15:34

Day 1 for me, so far have managed
Hot water and lemon
Done shred DVD
De fuzzed (including top lip and tidying of eyebrows)
3 glasses of water
Exfoliated
Taken multi vitamin
Moisturised
Painted nails (finger and toe)
Face mask
Leave in hair conditioner
Went out for lunch, had pasta but that will be my only meal today as off to work tonight.

It's a full time job this princessing lark!

Today I have run, exfoliated all over, shaved legs & used body moisturiser. Also cleanse, tone, moisturised & makeup. Oh, & painted nails over my gels I did the other night.
Only had 3 coffees & had some water but not enough.
Away to work now until 10
