HoC Spring thread....

This is a thread for all of us who have had their colours done' by House of Colour and are a Spring. (And 'believe' in it...Wink.) Or, by CMB and are 'clear and warm'. Think a few other CMB catergories might be spring too - 'soft and warm' maybe/' warm and clear' (different from 'clear and warm' because of the order of priorities/dominance...)?

Feel free to ask any Spring-related fashion/make-up/style questions on this thread.... (I won't know the answer but lots of people on these boards will!)

So, I'll start with a 'spring' question.... I never wear lipstick. I occasionally wear neutral-ish lipgloss on a night out but never reapply during the evening so it's always gone within the first 20 mins. I know as a spring, I 'should'. Can anybody suggest a Revlon lip butter that is springish? I gather they are more sheer than full lipstick so might be a good way for me to start trying lip colour out! Thank you

Sounds like a very successful expedition jumping, even if you didn't buy any clothes! How old is your little one? Love the links by the way! All of them! I can't believe you've found a jumper in Kerry green... I might have to buy that (double star and all that Wink).

I almost wish I was back at work now too, looking at all the Cos stuff... Trying to go in a new career direction so my attempt to get a new job soon may take a while. (This is the first time since university i haven't worked, other than 2 x quite short mat leaves.) Probably shouldn't shop for work stuff until I actually have a job...

I saw gillybobs' link to the larger JL bag and loved it. Think the green is fab actually. I've been after a replacement small cross body bag (best for trips to park etc with children now there are no nappies) so the smaller one looks great. My current daily bag is a cross body small leather dark brown one from top shop... Anyway, might buy that bag! Probably in tan (bit safer and goes with everything) although will have to check them out in real life before I commit... (Do you think we'll be able to spot fellow Spring mumsnetters all wearing the same stuff in a few months?)

Cardoon - v interesting to known Johnnie B stuff fits you. Opens up whole new shopping opportunities! Am a size 8 (small one Hmm) on top... Think it's a lovely cardie.

p.s. really glad people are finding this thread useful! And I thought I was the only crazy prematurely middle-aged closet Hyacinth Bucket around Wink.

Lovely stuff there jumping.....

I'm not really a small size 10, 32E up top, but I do look better in fitted clothes or I get swamped.

Cardoon - lovely cardigan. Have also just spotted that they do it in a coral colour too...hmmm.

Jumpinghoops - great links - especially love the blue cos jumper.

I've just ordered a pair of ash spiral ankle boots from Brand Boudoir for autumn in a Camel colour - great for us Springs. A really bargain price too.

Gilly, I think the pink is veering towards more of a cerise winter pink actually in real life. I saw someone with your pink Fossil on Regent St yesterday and it's lovely, def a much better Springy colour. Maybe the JL in green or tan though....Wink

I LOVE those Ash boots. I have some almost identical but paler ones from Aldo a year or so ago though so I guess I don't need them. But, oh, I want them!

Beginner my little DS is 4 months old and I still have a stone to lose so I'm trying to resist the urge to spend (on clothes, shoes though....), though size wise I'm not vastly different. I have just managed to get both my DC to sleep so I'm off for a sleep myself. Zzzzzzzz

Oh- and MCES for 20% off Boden + free delivery.

Gonna get them!

Jumping - ahhh! Bit early to be trying to lose weight though if you are BF-ing though? In fact, a bit early all together maybe?? Hope it's all going well.

Does anybody have any alternatives to the Alex Monroe classic 'feather' necklace (in gold)? Been wanting the small one for ages but two good friends have it. Don't like the other Alex Monroe ones as much! Will post a link, hang on...

Cleared out wardrobe of all the clothes I don't wear- was really ruthless!
Created a black drawer for blacks.
Then ordered all my gear in colour order - sad but satisfying!!Grin

I'm definitely in the AW zone now and made a few purchases last night with that in mind.

They are not typical spring brights at all but are on the colour swatches, what do you think? I live in Scotland and LOVE my cosy knitwear

The back of the second one makes me smile, so pretty

So,what do you think? Some days I want to be compliant but not crazy bright. Thinking they will look, nice under my navy Boden jacket lied to upthread

Gilly - love the second one - so pretty!

Report
Aquelven · 17/08/2013 11:15

Love them both, especially the second one, the wool looks really soft.
I know what you mean about cosy knits, living high on the North Pennines.

Sometimes I'm just not in the mood for brights either, takes a bit of getting used to. I'm finding navy & grey very welcome with just a bit of colour from a scarf or jewellery.
