So, I'm tweeting about bras with M&S. Who wants to tell me which stores have given incorrect measurements?

They have asked which store fitted incorrectly. Apparently they've invested a lot into their Bra fitting and would like to know which stores have incorrectly measured / fitted.

Shall we give them a list?!

Romford

Measured by a woman who seemed entirely inconvenienced by it as 38D. I'm a 34F.

I think they are smaller fitting recently too. I have no idea what size I'm supposed to be now, need to take measurements and post on the latest intervention thread, but I tried on a 36g the other day that I couldn't fasten, and a 40g that dug in very uncomfortably. I can still fasten my 40fs, bought a while ago, though.

M&S (amongst others) need to see this link (from another thread):

The importance of "scooping"

When you scroll down a bit, the drawn diagram just says it all...

ceeveebee · 18/07/2013 20:21

Richmond (Surrey) measured me as 34b - after bra intervention I am 30dd!!

SoYo · 18/07/2013 20:33

Leeds Briggate - measured me as a 36A (I'm a slim on top size 12). I believed them until I went to a small independent shop & bought my wedding underwear, I'm a 32D. I'd only ever been measured in M&S before this & believed them so wore the wrong size for 15yrs. The difference in comfort & the way clothes fit is huge & it would have made a difference to confidence in my silly teenage years too.

WhoKnowsWhereTheTimeGoes · 18/07/2013 20:38

Well, I wore 36d as measured by M&s years ago until last year. Then, I needed some new bras last year and was in a town with a Bravissimo, they measured me as 36e and I bought 2 bras. They were very comfy but the straps kept falling down. So, I measured myself as per bra intervention threads and agreed with 36e, went into M&s last month and tried on an armful of 36Es, the fit varied a bit but I found one that fitted perfectly and a month on have just ordered 4 mire, they are the best fitting bras I have ever owned.

WhoKnowsWhereTheTimeGoes · 18/07/2013 20:41

It was an M&S fitter that taught me to always scoop.

HarumScarum · 18/07/2013 20:45

The lady I saw in Richmond got me right. So there are some good ones out there. However, it didn't do me any good because there were only about two (horrid) bras in my size.

Waves to SoYo. I've also been told I'm a 34C or 36B over the years depending on fatness in the Leeds Briggate store (and probably the Leeds White Rose and Pudsey Owlcotes stores as well, I get around Grin.

I'm currently at my heaviest ever Sad and my underbust measurement is 31. I haven't done the proper leaning forward measurement but its probably around 38 or 39 so I'm really something like a 30F/32E.

I desperately need new bras but I can't bring myself to spend ££££ when I'm hoping that about 10 pounds will magically disappear overnight Wink.

I'm wary about mail order because I'll have to order loads of different sizes and send them back and it'll be a faff. Even when I was fitted in Bravissimo and I bought 2 Panache Superbras, one lacy, one T-shirt style, but the same name, they are in different sizes FFS.

JollyHolidayGiant · 18/07/2013 20:50

Hopefully they take this on board.

AKissIsNotAContract · 18/07/2013 20:54

Shorham by sea, measured me as a 36C. I'm a 32DD

fiveintothree · 18/07/2013 20:58

Bath - measured me at 38B, in fact I'm a 34D

WeAreSix · 18/07/2013 20:59

I really hope they listen too. They are totally missing a trick if they don't!

Someone mentioned breastfeeding up thread. The implications of an ill-fitting bra while feeding are monumental, to not fit correctly is irresponsible and negligent.

OP posts:
RubberBullets · 18/07/2013 21:00

I was breastfeeding at the time of being measured as a 40E instead of 36K...

WeAreSix · 18/07/2013 21:09

Shock RubberBullets that's appalling!!!

LieweHeksie · 18/07/2013 21:13

M&S Cambridge put me in a 36GG

Bravissimo and Rigby and Peller agree that I am a 32HH (or J in some styles)

CaptainJamesTKirk · 18/07/2013 21:17

I'm amazed at the posters who say they're an e or f but that M&S put them in an a?! How did they themselves not know that size couldn't possible correct. How did you in a million years fit in an a cup?! I'm an a cup, I can see how there might be confusion between a and b, he'll even c at a push!!! But f?

SpottyTeacakes · 18/07/2013 21:19

Because cup size isn't about the size of the breast but the difference in size between your back size and breasts. Are you sure you're an A cup? Wink

GreenEggsAndNaiceHam · 18/07/2013 21:20

Marble arch. Every time!

GreenEggsAndNaiceHam · 18/07/2013 21:22

They measured me as a 36C. I was roughly a 28 or 30 F. Luckily I could pop up the Road to Rigby and Peller. The fitting woman didn't like me telling her the bras she had chosen didn't fit!

CaptainJamesTKirk · 18/07/2013 21:24

I'm not so sure now?! I've never gone on a bra thread before. I wear a 34A and haven't been measured before because I don't like the idea of it. But A cups are nice and small and E cups are massive... If I put an E cup bra on the extra material would be absurd?!

CaptainJamesTKirk · 18/07/2013 21:25

When they measure you (sorry to hijack slightly)... Do you have to be topless?

SorrelForbes · 18/07/2013 21:27

Not necessarily! An E cup on a 28 band is not the same size as an E cup on a 34 band.
