So, I'm tweeting about bras with M&S. Who wants to tell me which stores have given incorrect measurements?

They have asked which store fitted incorrectly. Apparently they've invested a lot into their Bra fitting and would like to know which stores have incorrectly measured / fitted.

Shall we give them a list?!

Truro say I'm 40E but I am really 36K

DorisShutt · 18/07/2013 15:10

Aberdeen. I'm a 32G or 34FF depending on the style.

M&S Aberdeen told me I was a 38C.

I'm very definitely not!!! And they have no bras in either of my "real" sizes, so I suspect the sizing is to make sales not support breasts! Hmm

MrsLettuce · 18/07/2013 15:13

Maybe sometimes Doris but they'll happily fit a wrong size even when they do stock the correct size, given half a chance.

systemsaddict · 18/07/2013 15:13

They fitted me as a 40A when I was a 34E - and I believed it for years. Don't want to share store as don't want to out myself but hasn't been mentioned yet, so would be another to add to the list!

Hanginggardenofboobylon · 18/07/2013 15:14

Chelmsford fitted me at a 34DD/36D many years ago (and I was thinner then).

Its not just their fitters, they have an online calculator which is wrong too. I am a 36D according to their system. I am actually a 30GG.

LucyTheValiant · 18/07/2013 15:15

Oxford and Bluewater have both fitted me into a 32A. I'm at 28E/DD.

I hope they listen to you. They are utterly useless. Rude, too.

Dundrum in Dublin, they fitted me as a 36C a few years ago. I shelled out for 4 bras that I had to stop wearing after about a month. My new measurements are 30D/DD or maybe 32C/DD.

TeWiSavesTheDay · 18/07/2013 15:17

Newmarket, suffolk.

32a - I'm a 28DD

PourquoiPas · 18/07/2013 15:17

Birmingham city centre try to fit me in a 38F/40F.

I'm a 32K at bravissimo.

I think they went with what they had stock of. I had a quadruble boob and they said it was a lovely fit!

WeAreSix · 18/07/2013 15:17

Wow.

Is everyone happy for me to tweet this thread?

Bluewater - several times.
Maidstone - several times.
Hempstead Valley - several times.

I went into HV store to buy some new bras and every single one - except those for teenagers and mastectomy patients were the t-shirt padded ones. I emailed to tell them. Generic reply basically saying they know what their customer wants. Hmm Well not this customer and another store got my business and will be doing in the future.

M&S isn't what it used to be Sad.

DubarryBoots · 18/07/2013 15:18

Shrewsbury.

Measured me as a 34E, got meaured at Bravissimmo and I'm a 30G/28H depending on style.

Bit of a difference there!

StatisticallyChallenged · 18/07/2013 15:19

I'd wait until it fills up slight more but that would be the best way I think

MissStrawberry · 18/07/2013 15:19

I was also told that I wouldn't be able to get a bra fitted with the centre flat against the chest wall and told that one breast really was much bigger than the other, wasn't it? Hmm[felt crap].

gingysmummy · 18/07/2013 15:21

kirkcaldy and aberdeen on said 34c othe 32 dd i'm infact a 36e i found this out by trail and error myself

Skintorama · 18/07/2013 15:21

Horsham and Dorking both measured me as a 36A.

I'm a 30DD.

MrsLettuce · 18/07/2013 15:23

Good point about the online calculator, yes. They still add 3 or 4 inches to the under bust measurement which is where it all goes awry.

Velve · 18/07/2013 15:23

MissStrawberry Shock That's atrocious!

Duckegg80 · 18/07/2013 15:25

Also Dundrum, Dublin. Measured me as a 40D, I'm now wearing (and very happy with) 36FF's. it's not that their staff measure incorrectly according to what they've been taught, it's that the whole system is wrong.

Keztrel · 18/07/2013 15:26

Welwyn Garden City. Measured me as 32C, am more of a 28DD/E.

Keztrel · 18/07/2013 15:27

But the fitter was very nice!

MrsLettuce · 18/07/2013 15:27

Exactly Duckegg - the majority of their fittings are correct to their system, unfortunately their system is totally wrong.

enjoyingscience · 18/07/2013 15:31

I'm a 28dd. M&S lady told me I couldn't possibly be, despite me already wearing a perfectly fitting bra of exactly that size.

They don't make any bras for small backs - and I am not exceptionally thin or small chested. Therefore they flog the wrong size, as otherwise I wouldn't have been able to buy anything (which I didn't anyway, because I know my bra size, and their 32 inch numbers just don't fit).

Agree that it's the system that's wrong there - if they aren't making the right sizes the problem starts there.

ProfanityMere · 18/07/2013 15:35

Guildford-measured me as 36C, I'm a 32DD.
