have replied on other thread to you mig xx

hugs one, how stressful.

have my own stresses here - DS woke up crying in pain in the night and again this morning. he has a temp and won't eat a thing. doc says keep an eye, try to get a urine sample (HA! yeah right) and take back in if he gets worse. his stomach is rock hard.

and wouldn't you just know it, we had plans this morning (usually DS nursery morning) and date night tonight, so that's blown them out of the water. [upset]

going to go back to my boy now, he's watching room on the broom and is so not himself. back later everyone. xx

santamarianovella · 11/07/2013 11:05

morning everyone!

i went for a quick visit to see my parents on tuesday,my dad was not well, and my mum was really concerned about him,he is doing much better today, and im going back home this afternoon.

marsha im so happy to hear about the possibility of a new job, will keep fingers crossed for you.

mig glad your niece is doing better, and that your home, sleep is the one who should take al credit. she arranged for everything, well done sleep!

one sorry to hear about your BIL,hope everything is ok.

novice i would avoid florence in july/august, very hot,and crowded,

dry love the gigis!

ani i agree, you should take your DS to the GP.

shop, i used LM primer and its very good,i started using clinique cc cream in light medium which is a perfect match for me.

linus have fun today, and we want pics!

sleep how has lego land? we are taking DSS, next week and he cant wait.

liberty i like your game! and all the dresses you picked are gorgeous.

hope i didnt forget anyone! will double check again!

santamarianovella · 11/07/2013 11:09

foxy oh no!,hope the LO gets better soon,

mignonette · 11/07/2013 11:25

Foxy sorry to hear DS is unwell. Right to keep a close eye on him. its always so anxiety-making when our little ones get sick...

One Oh No! Please keep us all updated. What awful news and I am keeping a hope in my mind for your BIL and you and your family that all turns out well in the end. I am hoping the results will be good for BIL today Flowers for you all...

Novice My go to within three hour special places (what a bloody mouthful) are in no particular order- Sardinia (Alghero or La Maddelena), Corsica, Sorrento and the Amalfi Coast, Elba and Capri (the latter a bit Eurotrash in parts but so so pretty and the shoes...the shoes..) Great to follow the progress of your charity. You should feel proud of yourself. What a wonderful empowering charity too. Educating females is the way forward....

Linus great scarf.

Liberty have a lovely break in the cool green of Ireland (envious). I have only been once, to Dublin where we stayed at The Clarence, saw Groove Armada and Moloko at Dublin Castle and toured the whisky distilleries with inevitable consequences for DH!

Marsha Great work news. Always good to know good things about the place you are going to. Enjoy it.

DeCam I like the grey marl of the top. I am a sucker for grey marl. Do those tops stay put well with the ruching? I haven't tried that style so intrigued.....

Queen I like Quinoa and Bulgur wheat and my favourite is Ebly which might be a bit bloaty for some but is delicious with black pepper, a teeny bit of butter Pak Choi and a large steak! Have bought packs of Pumpernickel bread back from Germany which we've been eating with Breakfast Radishes, unsalted butter and cream cheese (god my weight is going to change if I am not careful!)

I found a great new band whilst listening to Marc Riley the other day. This track is by Unknown Mortal Orchestra here and I also got re-acquainted with MedicineHead, an old 70's hippy band here. Have been bored with my music collection so something new always appreciated even if in the case of the latter pin, they are old to everyone else...

Decameron · 11/07/2013 12:16

Liberty, Alwaysrunninginheels linked to the skirt and top, credit to her! I am a big fan of Me & Em. I have got several mums at DD1's school buying from them now. The skirt will look good on you, I think you could wear it to work with the Whistles jacket.

Definitely give the dress a go, OneLittleLady. That's scary about your BIL.

Will let you know about the top when it arrives, Mig, but the other tops I have from them stay in place well. I love pumpernickel bread.

Hope your DS gets well soon, Foxy. How's your little boy today, Anni?

I lived in Florence and Siena for a while, gorgeous cities but would also avoid in July/August and go with one of Mig's suggestions instead.

Annianni · 11/07/2013 12:20

Hope ds is ok Foxy.

Ds2 slept (in bed with me) really well last night.
He barely moved and didn't scratch at all.

He is however, testing my patience today...

He's tipped a bowl of cereal all over the table and floor, then mashed it into the carpet too (flowery old lady carpet) but still annoying.
Mashed an ice lolly into the carpet (same place)
Tipped a cup of hot chocolate all over the table and the same sodding bit of carpet.
Tipped a carton of apple juice all over the table and carpet.... guess which bit....

Argh!

I may have ordered the silk blouse from Whistles that I've been stalking (finally reduced today) to make myself feel better...
Along with a summer jersey skirt.
And I used dh's card to pay for it :o

It's final reductions on Whistles site today.

Liberty that nice zip jacket is now £45 if you're interested?

mignonette · 11/07/2013 12:27

Grin Anni Oh he is getting better isn't he?

Am envious of your living in Siena and Florence DeCam. Don't they say to be born Italian is to be blessed by God? I'm speaking as a person who burst in tears upon seeing Venice for the first time and also when I stood on a NE Sardi cliff and saw that extraordinary sea.....They are hellish places to visit in high season though aren't they?

QueenCadbury · 11/07/2013 12:54

foxy I've pm'd you as I don't like the sound of a rock hard tummy...

santamarianovella · 11/07/2013 13:06

mig though it does get crowded at high season,i would still choose Sardinia.
Capri is another firm fav,but a hassle to reach, and i agree regarding the shoes, one of my best sandals comes from a small shop in anacapri, made on the spot and costed around 50 euros!

ani i think your DS is trying to tell you that he does not like the carpet Grin.

QueenCadbury · 11/07/2013 13:09

I've been to Capri. The worst boat journey of my life Grin

shopafrolic · 11/07/2013 13:15

We honeymooned in Amalfi, visited Capri and had a fabulous day in Ravello - happy, happy memories. Capri is ridiculously busy and expensive in the summer. Apparently if you go outside of tourist season the reductions in-store are HUGE.
Glad itching has lessened Anni - shame about the carpet!
Hope DS is improving Foxy
And Linus - your little ones must be over the worst now I hope?

santamarianovella · 11/07/2013 13:29

queen the ferries are awful!

shop you are right we went early july ,and none of the shops offered any discounts on the summer clothes, they even had a chanel pop up store in one of the hotels, had a look ,and thought everything was a bit more expensive than the uk and france.

ani if your ds is over 2 he can use the eucerin urea cream, horrible smell but very effective.spraying avene thermal water spray will help with the irritation.

MrsRadicchio · 11/07/2013 13:58

I have just acheived something momentous - both DC are napping at the same time!!

Mig I am glad you liked the flowers. What a lovely comment to you on the other thread. I was reading another thread you contributed on (I am not stalking you, honest) - the one about the psychiatrist's car hobby?? I was Shock. If anyone is wondering what I am on about, I can link to the thread (in aibu) but it will lower the tone.

One really sorry to hear about your BIL and hope he is ok - have you had more news yet?

Sorry to hear about all the unwell children, Anni, Foxy and Linus hope they get better soon. Eczema sounds awful, especially in this heat.

Decam lovely purchases from Me+Em - what is the sizing like? I really like that top. I am also drawn to grey marl, have a lot of it in my wardrobe.

QueenC I see you pinned some dungarees - I was stalking some on the uniqlo website but they have now sold out. I love them even though I think I am also too old for them (although I do already own a pair of polka dot ones!!)

Novice really liked the look of your pink dress with grey mulberry - love that colour combination.

Good on you and Liberty for avoiding ryanair too - they really are the pits. I don't find easyjet as bad at all.

I've been to the amalfi coast and capri on a family holiday, it was lovely. Would love to go back.

Drywhiteplease · 11/07/2013 14:07

Go on MrsR I'm trying to find something to delay the hoovering!!

MrsRadicchio · 11/07/2013 14:13

aibu thread

I have learnt a lot from aibu recently. I have lived a sheltered life.

MarshaBrady · 11/07/2013 14:20

Love the Italy talk. I've been a few times but best one was Cinque Terre holiday with friend in early 20s. We got taken out to dinner and driven around in sports cars and into clubs by random attractive Italian men. Was fun!

Mignonette so pleased the flowers arrived and thanks to Sleep for organising Thanks.

I'm actually in hospital right now as poor little ds1 had trouble breathing last night so called ambulance. Everything is ok, we are seeing an asthma counsellor later. Am impressed with the NHS. They have people offering toys and even homework person. Dh and I are both here as ds2 is in nursery.

Foxy hope your ds is ok.

Linus really intrigued by your furniture, sounds lovely. What sort of things did you go for?

Parisisalwaysagoodidea · 11/07/2013 14:27

One Fingers crossed for your BIL. Thinking of you all.

Hugs for all the poorly babies. I can't be of any practical help. The tiny years are a dim and distant memory for me now!

Novice It's in the UK but I really like the look of this hotel. It's in Devon rather than Italy and I have no idea how many stars it has but if the weather was good I think a stay here would be divine!

Mig The pudding and ice cream pins you keep pinning make me salivate every time I open Pinterest!

My JC sandals are here and they are fab. I'm currently wearing them with slouchy, pale was denim shorts and a cream embroidered top. I'm a Marant-a-like!

DH is off to Nice and Barcelona tomorrow Envy so I sprayed Acqua Di Parma Colonia and Assoluta again in in John Lewis in a final bid to decide which he should get me and Assoluta is the winner! It reminds me of that perfect time on holiday at the end of a hot day at the beach, when you've showered and put on the after sun and are sitting on a sunny terrace with your first glass of wine before dinner. Grin

MrsRadicchio · 11/07/2013 14:37

Marsha that sounds like it must have been v worrying, glad he is ok.

Lovely sandals Paris - like the sound of your outfit.

Decameron · 11/07/2013 14:38

Marsha, oh no, poor DS. My brothers both had very bad asthma as children but improved a huge amount by the time they were teenagers.

Mig, I agree, Italy really has it all, beauty, culture, history, food, wine and fashion.

MrsR, I usually buy medium from Me & Em, I am a UK 12 but not well endowed, ahem.

Liberty, I only go BA or Aer Lingus to Ireland too, especially with the kids.

The DVF top has been and gone, it was too billowy on me. Lovely colour though.

Anni, which Whistles blouse did you buy?

OneLittleLady · 11/07/2013 14:38

Only news so far is that BIL has suffered a very definite brain bleed. We are waiting on word from the specialists about what's going to happen next, they are extra concerned due to his age, he isn't more than a couple of years older than me and they say it's uncommon for someone of his age to suffer this type of bleed. The only slightly good news is that they are hopeful that they've caught it early which gives him the best possible chance of a good recovery.

Glad that you like the flowers mig Smile

Hope all the poorly Ds's and DD's are feeling better soon.

I grabbed the skirt, fits like a dream, it's vibrant and swishy and will be lovely and cool if the weather continues to be fine.

Decameron · 11/07/2013 14:39

You are making me want to buy Assoluta, Paris.

Drywhiteplease · 11/07/2013 14:40

Oh Foxy and Marsha your poor little ones, hope everything is ok.

Paris your shorts/new sandals combo sounds so fab.

I've just nearly garrotted myself with a bloody multi way bra, v hard to get on......changed into grey marl racer backed long vest and white skinnies but didn't like black bra straps showing ( not feeling slutty this pm.........and I do like to look just so to do the hoovering Grin )

Off to read that thread now MrsR

Drywhiteplease · 11/07/2013 14:48

Bloody HELL MrsR Shock.... But not surprised. I saw it happen once from a bus in London . Mind boggles Mig how do you know that about your colleague? Did he tell you?

MarshaBrady · 11/07/2013 14:48

Thanks. The paramedics were so great. The only thing that I freaked about was that since he hadn't yet been diagnosed dh's answers to 999 ended up with us on amber alert rather than red. But the person that arrives before the ambulance arrived very quickly with oxygen and changed it to red so all was ok. But he said he was nearly cancelled which made me do the what if... thing. Argh but all ok so trying to remove from mind. Dh stayed the night, he's now asleep in the corner ah love him.

Good news on skirt One and I hope bil continues to recover.

Decam thanks, that's good to know.

Thanks Dry and MrsR and everyone, you're all very lovely.

santamarianovella · 11/07/2013 14:52
