Hello all!
Not in the least offended by the skirt comments - I asked for genuine opinions as I always do when I just can't make up my mind whether something is good or bad. I hadn't thought Christmas Turkey until you said it, but now I do! And thanks, because no doubt I would have thought it in time, had I actually bought it. I can sometimes be blindsided by something I see which isn't actually that nice - just well-styled and worn by someone gorgeous. That's the power of t'internet. It can sell you stuff you'd just walk past if you saw it hanging on a rail in a shop.

libertychick · 09/07/2013 12:21

Sorry lurkers!!! Grin

GrumpyOldHorsewoman · 09/07/2013 12:23

Love that skirt shop

shopafrolic · 09/07/2013 12:24

Just watched the video of the Maxmara dress you suggested Liberty definitely too high waisted for me - even the model looks larger than she is in side profile so I'd stand no chance! Love it though - especially the colour and the pockets! Flowers.
Feel free to share anything else you ever spot - you've got a v good eye.

I am such a lurker I love the clothes and links on here. Do any if you have the rag and bone Newbury boots? The navy ones on the outnet today are calling me to buy them, just wondering if they're worth it?

libertychick · 09/07/2013 12:40

I can't remember if anyone here has them Ruby. Anni has almost certainly tried them!!!!

40 Bum has them if you want to flick back through her blog posts.

Welcome BTW!

libertychick · 09/07/2013 12:41

No problem Shop - everyone enjoying the links has made me smile all morning.

shopafrolic · 09/07/2013 12:48

Welcome rubyloves don't just lurk - stick around! I'm sure Anni tried them......

one that's great. Love it when that happens.

ruby I do love those navy boots 40bum has. Makes such a nice change from black.

Anyone else realising that they don't have enough summer clothes?? It always seems a waste to buy loads as we get the sun is infrequently but when we do and it's this hot there's very little to wear. I even scoured the local charity shops this morning in desperation and did find some denim shorts from monsoon. They're a bit of a frumpy length on me but rolled up they look fine. I have decided to downgrade this floral dress as I didn't wear it to the christening and I don't have any other formal do's coming up so I've been wearing it this morning. Just got changed into shorts as I'm about to head into school and help ds class do a bug hunt!

Next time I fantasy shop I'm going to see if I can pick out anything for anyone and see if I'm as good as liberty. Probably not as I've never met anyone!

Annianni · 09/07/2013 13:18

Yes of course I've tried the Newbury boots :o

They are very nice, small fitting (i thought) and too high for me, for day to day.

Also, there was too much leather on the front part of my foot, so they looked a bit loose/too big.

Whereas the All Saints boots fit better, are very similar and half the price.

I think Grumpy has some from Shopbop.

Annianni · 09/07/2013 13:23

I found with a few different boots, they seek to be cut for people with a high instep... so they look a bit baggy on me.

I probably would buy some Newbury's if they fit me though, because they are lovely irl.

Welcome Ruby.

Annianni · 09/07/2013 13:30

We've just fed 5 adorable cygnet's /signet's (sp??) baby swans. :o
They've grown quite a bit, and are all fluffy.
And the parent swans aren't vicious if you go near them, unlike when they were newborn.

MrsRadicchio · 09/07/2013 13:31

I actually own that skirt shop !! I love chinti & parker stuff, am quite keen on a few of the outnet bits.

Annianni · 09/07/2013 13:31

Seem to be...

LinusDKD · 09/07/2013 13:36

ruby welcome! I like those boots but I think the tan coloured heels would bother me [superfussy]

There is some lovely stuff on the Outnet but I must not buy anything until we go to NY.

Which reminds me I need to slowly start packing and it's freaking me out. Before and after NY we will be staying at my DP and DPIL for a couple of days and then we are at the seaside for two weeks so we will be gone for four weeks in total.

We be able to wash our clothes regularly so I shouldn't be packing too much but even so, I will have to pack for all kinds of weather and with two DC we will have to take along a lot of crap. We are going to DP and DPIL by car and I can alreday see the boot filled to the brim.

I HATE packing!

shopafrolic · 09/07/2013 13:36

Boom! So I was right MrsR - I could so see you in it! I'm quite tempted myself......
Off to the do the ironing Hmm

You'll have to let us know your capsule holiday wardrobe Linus

OP posts:
LinusDKD · 09/07/2013 13:49

I am RUBBISH at capsule wardrobes shop!

I usually put all the clothes I need want to take on the bed and when I realise it's never going to fit in the suitcase I start to cull so half of it is left.

And when DH starts to put everything in the suitcase, another quarter gets left behind... Blush

rubylovesshopping · 09/07/2013 13:59

Linus you are right the heel would feel too summery for winter which is when I would wear them most. Needs to be darker. Have been wanting some navy boots for ages. Will investigate all saints although have had quality issues with all saints stuff in the past.

LinusDKD · 09/07/2013 14:05

I am not impressed with Jack Wills!

About a month ago I ordered a cardigan and when I still hadn't received it after three weeks I e-mailed them to see what had happened.

They wrote back saying that because it was an international delivery I should give it another week but that the parcel had left their warehouse.

So when the cardigan still hadn't arrived I e-mailed again and they said they were going to investigate and asked whether I wanted a replacement sent or a refund on a gift voucher.

I chose a replacement cardigan but guess what? It's OOS and now they offer me a gift voucher or another item from their website. Grrr.

shopafrolic · 09/07/2013 14:35

Can't a cobbler paint the heels Ruby ?

OP posts:
Annianni · 09/07/2013 14:44

One of the all worn out ladies has darkened wooden heels. I was going to look for the post.

I know MrsCb dyed some Newburys recently, but I think it was someone else who dyed the heels darker.

libertychick · 09/07/2013 14:47

Why won't they just give a straight refund Linus? That's rubbish.

QueenC good idea to downgrade the dress - get the wear I say! I have so few summer clothes but really don't want to invest in them - we are planning to relocate to Oz eventually so once we know when that is going to happen I'll start buying nice summer things.

shopafrolic · 09/07/2013 15:07

In fact didn't 40bum dye the heels?

OP posts:
rubylovesshopping · 09/07/2013 15:09

Going to look into how to do it/ get it done. They would be perfect with darker heels.
