Oh mig that's absolutely amazing! I am so pleased and happy for you and your family xx

Parisisalwaysagoodidea · 08/07/2013 13:11

Mig That is great news. I hoped there would be a miracle for that little girl!

Other happy news is that DH has phoned me to say that it FIL has had his test results back and he appears to have beaten cancer for a second time!

What an utterly fab day! Grin

OneLittleLady · 08/07/2013 13:11

More fabulous news paris that phone call must have been such a relief!

mignonette · 08/07/2013 13:30

Paris

Hooray!!!

That is great news. What your FIL must have been through and of course, all of you too. Always glad to hear the good news of others.

Linus How is your DD doing? Hope things are getting better.

shopafrolic · 08/07/2013 13:37

Oh Mig and Paris, that's terrific news! Thanks

I am celebrating too although not as big as Mig and Paris. I finally have a bank account for the charity. Yippee! This was step 3 (out of 5) to getting everything set up formally and each step has been frustrating. Now, I can send off my form to HMRC to get it registered as a charity for tax purposes.

I decided against shorts and am in a simple sundress with flowers all over.

OneLittleLady · 08/07/2013 13:51

Yay for you novice a big step forward, hopefully everything else you need to do will go smoothly now Smile

mignonette · 08/07/2013 13:57

Novice That is a big step. Hopefully everything else will now cascade in a positive direction. And I can donate Smile...

I made so many promises to the fates over my niece that I will now have to be good for the rest of my life like a saint. So finding a charity that helps other girls is a great step for me.

LinusDKD · 08/07/2013 14:03

paris what a relief that news must be for you!

Fab news novice!

I am currently sitting on our drive next to the car whilst DD is alseep in her carseat. She didn't have a good afternoon nap and it's too hot and sunny here to go for a walk (apparently sun is not good when you have chicken pox) so I decided to take her for a drive in a nice airconditioned car.

She is really miserable but she has fallen asleep and I don't have the heart to wake her up so she's in the shade with the doors open and me next to her.

Thank god the wifi works on our drive!Wink

mignonette · 08/07/2013 14:11

The things we do for our children Linus...I always remember the advice given to me to let sleeping babies/children lie. Sun on itchy skin must be terrible for her. Do you have a little paddling pool she can splash in shen she feels a little better? Filled with cool water?

Annianni · 08/07/2013 14:16

Fab news Paris

Well done Novice, nearly there.

I've just gone dizzy from blowing up the small paddling pool.
My hayfever is terrible today, which doesn't help.

I'll leave the big one for dh to do later :o

santamarianovella · 08/07/2013 14:25

wonderful news today, paris and mig hope it stays that way,
novice thats great, your perseverance really worked.

linus, i agree with mig cool water will really help and soothe her skin,

LinusDKD · 08/07/2013 14:30

Good idea! Will try the paddling pool when she's woken up.

shopafrolic · 08/07/2013 14:33

Congrats Novice great news!

Glad to hear the charity set up is going well Novice

Poor MiniLinus. Chickenpox in this weather must be hideous. Paddling pool sounds like a great idea.

I am so happy about FIL's all clear. It has been hanging over us since christmas when the lumps in his neck came back. FIL is a retired doctor so, knowing all about the process, it must have been incredibly frightening for him. Now he's hoping his hair grows back before the weather gets cold again!

We're going out for dinner tonight to celebrate. I'm going to wear the zara skort, my new grey shirt and flat gold gladiator sandals.

Anyway, back to business! Amongst other things, the bikini arrived and it's lovely! I could probably do with a few circuit sessions before I do it justice but the style is so different from usual high st swimwear.

I also bought a pair of faux leather trousers in dark grey in the sale for £12. I have wanted leather trousers for a while but they are £££ so I thought I'd get some faux to temporarily scratch the itch and see how much wear I would get out of them before buying some real leather ones. They fit really well but I had to take them off because I was so hot in them!

QueenCadbury · 08/07/2013 14:59

That's great news paris. Enjoy dinner.

Fab news for you too novic

GrumpyOldHorsewoman · 08/07/2013 15:30

Great day all around Smile

Mig I am beyond thrilled for you and your family. You've endured enough tough times of late and deserved something positive to happen. You must be feeling so relieved and I hope you know how much everyone on MNV thinks about you.

Paris Great news for you too. Make sure you celebrate good and proper.

Well done Novice - more than halfway there!

I have DD2 at home this afternoon after I was called into school to collect her as she had hurt her knee at lunch time. Think she's milked it a bit and seems fine to me. Once she realised we wouldn't be going to the cinema this evening to see Despicable Me due to said injury, she miraculously improved. She'd better not make a habit of it!

Drywhiteplease · 08/07/2013 15:32

In car so forgive any typos.
mig what wonderful news, really v moving, a proper miracle. How is your sil doing?
And Paris that is a huge relief for you. What wonderful news all round.

Qc I agree with whoever blamed you for wanting a summer dress... Now desperate for your monsoon and poss a white dress too. Damm!

GrumpyOldHorsewoman · 08/07/2013 15:36

Just checked in on Pink Peonies, what do we think of this?

OneLittleLady · 08/07/2013 15:38

I like it but I think it would only look good on someone slim yet curvy. I think it's just one of those things that wouldn't look good on say, me, who is larger than average. I do wish I could wear it though, I'd even wear it to sainsburys Grin

mignonette · 08/07/2013 15:44

Paris Have a great evening. I agree that being a medic must have made it so hard for your FiL. I like the sound of your outfit. It is the kind of thing I like to wear.

Dry I have an 'interesting' relationship with SiL but will not let that get in the way of supporting her. Am worried about my Brother as he tends to do most if not all the childcare, works very hard and is subjugating himself too much. SiL can play the sick role a little too well and has these incredibly over involved parents (Mother is wiping her butt when after 8 days, SiL should be mobilising) who she encourages in treating her life a child princess. Is hard to watch Hmm but am giving leeway at the moment as she has been through an ordeal although she has always been a bit like this. I refuse to do personal care that she should and can do for herself though. Families, hey?

I am now back at the house in my shorts and a geometric print sleeveless cotton shirt with my feet up drawing fashion designs with my older niece. So far I have ripped off Simone Rocha's entire ouvre and am claiming it as my own to my niece who thinks I am fashion-genius and clearly in the wrong business. They have these great drawing pads which are pre-printed with the outlines of female/males and you then draw clothing on top. The body shapes are not fashion thin either nor Barbie pneumatic.

mignonette · 08/07/2013 15:47

Grumpy naughty DD2- sounds familiar to me, that one Smile
The skirt is great but I would worry about scratching it because of the lightness of the shade. I have metallic leather shoes and they do get so grazed.

Parisisalwaysagoodidea · 08/07/2013 16:12

Good point re Grumpys skirt Mig. I have silver clogs from Lotta and the scratch very easily.

Grin at your designer rip offs Mig. never did Zara any harm though!

mignonette · 08/07/2013 16:20

Does anyone recall when TopShop got sued by Stella McCartney for copying a pineapple print playsuit? That's the only time I recall action being taken for 'tributes'....Paris

I have an old pair of metallic gold loafers from Miu Miu. They look like I have been walking through a briar bush after not that many wears so scratched are they. DH calls them my 'Nun on a Night Out' shoe Grin. A sexy Nun Wink.

santamarianovella · 08/07/2013 16:50

mig i remember that,it was back when she was designing for chloe, imagine if isabel marant did the same thing and sued all the high street brands for stealing the designs of her wedge trainers and boots, she could make some serious money!

grumpy my eyes!,but im sure someone more edger can give you a better opinion .
