Morning. Hope you lovely voguettes are all ok. Sorry for missing some of you of you off the original pm list and then going AWOL. I basically got the kids into bed by 7.30 and then went to bed myself. 11 hours sleep. Lush!

Morning!

QueenC 11 hours sleep! Envy

It looks like today is gong to be grey and wet again so I'm wearing my Jimmies (I swear, I do wash them regularly), white H&M layering vest and a cobalt Esprit jumper.

I normally don't look good in jumpers but this one has quite a low neckline and the colour is so nice that I had to buy it.

BrandyAlexander · 04/07/2013 07:15

11 hours sleep?! Envyhope you feel good!

I couldn't do 333. There would just be no point as I have different types of wardrobes for different occasions. What I am disciplined on (or try to be) is my Xmas clear out. Anything I haven't worn that year gets bagged for charity I can't justify it. I have to make allowances for things like the summer was crap but that just buys them an extra year to prove themselves! I had an extra session this year at the end of that long winter, I figured if in one of the coldest longest winters in years I hadn't worn something then there were good reasons for it. I think the end result is I love my wardrobe a lot more.

Also, I find that although i am your typical classic dresser, every 3 years my style has changed, so what I liked in my early 30s, wasn't the same as my mid 30s and my late 30s/now. It's not rigid but acknowledging that my style has changed means I don't try and justify things in the wardrobe that I am just never going to wear again because my taste has changed.

QueenCadbury · 04/07/2013 07:28

Yep, 11 hours. Dh took pity on me and sent me upstairs to the spare room. It's at the top of the house so you can't hear a thing. He was up with ds for over an hour as he had a nightmare.

I'm wearing everyone's favourite combination today- red and black. It doesn't look 80s I promise. Black top, red cardi and jeans.

novice my taste changes regularly like that too and I think it reflects where I am in my life. With young dc you just have to dress practically but as they are growing up my style is reflecting that. I might even venture out of jeans this winter and into a dress Grin

Wow Novice that's disciplined. I need a sort.
Making a list of what you wear is a great idea.
QueenC I'm in black and cobalt blue......very Alexis Colby !
Grin at your washing basket shop

Annianni · 04/07/2013 08:20

Grey and cloudy here, so I'm in khaki 3/4 trousers and a loose grey tee.

Got 2 pairs of boots due today, along with the washer repair man, so we're stuck inside.

I went to bed early, but ds2 woke at 6 so I don't think I actually got any extra sleep.

Annianni · 04/07/2013 08:21

There's a dress in my ironing basket that I last wore last summer... do I win?

shopafrolic · 04/07/2013 08:35

If I was a lot more tiny than I actually am I'd be blagging a place at Novice's Christmas clear out :)
Brew for Mig
I can't even remember what 11 hours sleep feels like. I am so tired all the time. No reason really as DS usually sleeps through but I've become such a light sleeper since he was born that I wake 5 or 6 times a night. Anyway new Current Elliotts on today (second day running, it must be love) with an AV tee and M&S snakeskin flats. Dull day of chores while DS is at nursery.

shopafrolic · 04/07/2013 08:36

I have a pile of napkins in mine from a dinner party I held two years ago Anni I just bought more napkins Blush

Annianni · 04/07/2013 08:43

:o I like your style Shop!

Parisisalwaysagoodidea · 04/07/2013 09:27

Morning All.

I appear to have returned to sleepless nights now DS is 16. I can't sleep until the time he says he's going to be in (usually 11pm), he is intevitably late (often by hours) so I can't sleep for worrying. Whe he does come home he clatters around the house making food etc so I can't sleep until he does. He lounges around in bed until dinner time (finished school) and I start work at 8 am!

I agree with Shop. Since I had DS I've never slept properly.

Sorry to piss on your chips but it gets bad again!

BrandyAlexander · 04/07/2013 09:41

Grin shop and Anni!

I should say the things I don't bag are party/cocktail dresses/ball gowns. I have a wardrobe full of them. Also coats and jewelry (i am usually given them and am v sentimental) but everything else is fair game!

The discipline actually came from my brother. I was absolutely piss poor at uni and think bought one new thing a year, the rest of it were hand me downs from friends or charity shops. End result was that after 4 years my clothes were rags. My brothers are super trendy dressers and one of them came round and made me bag everything up and throw it away and then came back the next year and did the same. He is the one who buys me an item of clothing or an accessory each year for xmas. its always really cool, something I would never pick up and perfect for me. I used to love going shopping with him. Dh was under a lot of pressure when he joined the familyGrin

Shop at my last clear out I had a couple of things that still had price tag on. I did think of posting and asking if anyone wanted them but I was too embarrassed Blush I will do next time!

QueenC, I agree that its all been about the stages in my life. I am a jeans and nice top dresser at the weekends but as the dcs grow, I could also envisage wearing a dress! At the moment I keep my dress wearing to work for sanity sake!

foxysocks · 04/07/2013 09:42

still holding you all in my thoughts mignon xx

I am feeling ROUGH this morning. I think it's tiredness, hope not a virus.

can I book my place at the novice christmas clearout?! Wink it sounds brilliant!

I like the arty a lot more this morning but am unsure how much I'll wear it. amber do you wear yours a lot?

now - these bad boys caught my eye - too mutton?! be honest! I am a fan of short shorts and am thinking with flat sandals and cream loose tee, then opaques/slouchy jumper for AW. thoughts?

BrandyAlexander · 04/07/2013 09:43

Nooooo Paris!!!!! I can't hear it gets bad again, lalalalalalala (ears in fingers!) Poor you. Thanks

LinusDKD · 04/07/2013 09:53

foxy if you have the legs, go for it! Very Envy as the last time I had the legs for short shorts was in my early twenties.

paris I am choosing to ignore what you've just said. Really, I don't believe you! It can't be true. Say it isn't true

Parisisalwaysagoodidea · 04/07/2013 09:54

Foxy They are a neutral colour and your ideas for styling them aren't mutton. As long as they aren't mega tight they'll look great.

I love short shorts and but always wear them with a slouchy top. However, DS rolls his eyes and warns me not to go near his friends when I'm wearing my 'batty riders', as he calls them. They aren't that short!

OneLittleLady · 04/07/2013 09:56

foxy as already said, if you have the legs, go for it. I don't , I have huge thighs and the biggest calf muscles EVER. They are 19 inches around and not a bit of it's fat, it's just solid muscle. I don't even cycle or anything 'waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah' Sad

Parisisalwaysagoodidea · 04/07/2013 09:56

I'm lying Novice and Linus. No need to worry at all Wink

The funny thing is. My friend has a DS the same age who never goes out and she lies awake worrying that he's a Billy No Mates!

MarshaBrady · 04/07/2013 09:57

Foxy I say yes do it. Love the look.

Paris!

foxysocks · 04/07/2013 09:59

thanks guys. I might phone the local all saints and see what sizes they have. think you are right about too tight - i will def size up a bit. oh I love them! hope nice IRL.

QueenCadbury · 04/07/2013 10:01

foxy as I remember you are in your early 30's so surely nothing can be mutton Grin. As long as you don't pair them with a low cut top and stilettos they'll be fine!

novice please do post on here! I can only dream of owning the sort of stuff the rest of you do so hand me downs always welcome in return for buying glasses of wine at meet ups!

paris I'm such a deep sleeper but dh is a light sleeper so hopefully it'll be him who lies awake waiting for teenage dc!

I am meeting a friend for coffee in Kensingston, next to a square which is so lush and pretty.

I am early so checking out SW fashion Wink.

I didn't get the Me&Em I suddenly thought it wasn't very me and I could imagine it languishing in the wardrobe. I do find the colour pretty.

MarshaBrady · 04/07/2013 10:09

Or central W rather.

Novice I'm sure you'll have no shortage of takers! (Me too me too Grin) sounds fabulous.

Annianni · 04/07/2013 10:10

Love the shorts Foxy Envy
