Love that pink dress Novice sooo pretty.

McNally · 03/07/2013 21:31

Oh dear. Have just been at drinks for work. Turns out am have turned into a total lightweight. Too few nights out since DD came along. Have had to leave... Was also seriously underdressed owing to having not really thought I'd be going since I didn't think DH would be back to take over from the nanny. Urgh. Over dressed or under dressed? Not sure which is worse.

Love the Panama hat Grumpy. Seriously tempted but not sure I quite have the confidence with hats. Being on the, ahem, short side (joining novice in midget's corner), I've always been wary of them.

santamarianovella · 03/07/2013 21:33

nice mig ,i love over the top heels,im not a huge fan of patterned clothes but shoes should always be loud ! and i love sophia webster,i might get my first heel this AW.

linus your pins today are sooo yummy,i might try the prawns tomorrow night.

mignonette · 03/07/2013 21:34

I do not wear hats very often. DH always goes on about how much they suit me but I get imposter syndrome when I wear one. Feel like a child in dress up.

McNally · 03/07/2013 21:36

What's your name on pin Linus? Need some food inspiration though mig is doing a pretty amazing job with that too.

LinusDKD · 03/07/2013 21:38

santa I repinned them from paris!

shopafrolic · 03/07/2013 21:40

I haven't had time to click on links but am sending love to Mig - I'll PM you shortly.
Missed the tennis but caught the Murray match highlights which looked amazing.
Great Me&em purchases - I've resisted as have spent way too much this month but my feet are still very happy in Missoni :)
Any Luther fans out there? Just watched it on playback. Amazing!

LinusDKD · 03/07/2013 21:41

I just started following you today McNally, I am AngloBelge.

Right, really off to bed now.

mignonette · 03/07/2013 21:58

I am going to have to sleep now. Just nodded off sitting in front of my laptop. Kind of expecting a middle of the night call from brother as that's when he'll have the time and space to reach me when his older DD is asleep.

Good night to you all and once again, thank you. You have helped me through one really bad day.

Flowers to all here xx

shopafrolic · 03/07/2013 22:01

Love to you Mig

MarshaBrady · 03/07/2013 22:02

Night Mignonette.

BrandyAlexander · 03/07/2013 22:02

Lovely links mig. I love the sandals. I am semi of LKB shoes ever since the saga of the boots (don't think you were on the thread then, but i bought these flippin boots for £300 which I had to keep getting resoled). I was seriously unimpressed. Hmm

Drywhiteplease · 03/07/2013 22:13

Hope you get some sleep Mig

Novice beautiful pink dress.
McNally depends on the person.....I always overdress though !!

Love hats. Never wear them. I had an amazing hat made to go to my sisters trendy wedding a few years ago.......I did not want understated, I wanted high! It was amazing! That's why I need to go to Ascot ( or a Royal wedding Wink ) just to wear it......I might post a pic. It was my lifetime's favourite outfit ( after my wedding dress)

GrumpyOldHorsewoman · 03/07/2013 22:26

Beautiful dress Novice and truly fabulous shoes Mig. Saw them in a magazine a couple of months back and thought how I'd just display them in a beautifully lit glass case and gaze at their loveliness as I could never do them the disservice of actually wearing them.
McNally I doubt you're as much of a midget as I am. However my lack of stature could not put me off wearing hats - I love them. So long as they're not too big, they suit anyone regardless of height. The reason I went for the panama over the trilby was its neat little size and narrow brim. I did wear quite a big hat (for me) to Ascot a few years ago. It was a 1950's style saucer hat covered in bold black lace and worn with my Vivienne Westwood black skirt suit and thick pearl choker I felt v glam. Not mushroom-like at all!

shopafrolic · 03/07/2013 22:37

Nicole Farhi have gone into administration..........

santamarianovella · 03/07/2013 22:49

its so sad, more than 100 are at risk of losing their jobs.

libertychick · 03/07/2013 22:54

Loving all the hat chat! I suit hats but for day to day wear find them a PITA as I never know where to put them when I am indoors!! They need a little stool like a good bag.

Interesting re Farhi - I see from the news reports that the lady herself is considering buying the company back - apparently she hasn't been involved for years.I find that bizarre that people lose the use of their own name.

Love your Project 333 board MrsR, that Lena jacket is currently the hardest working item in my wardrobe and well done on having 5 pairs of shoes as part of the 33!

Drywhiteplease · 03/07/2013 22:57

Can someone explain exactly what project 333 involves? 333 outfits? Garments? Days? Off to check MrsR pins

libertychick · 03/07/2013 23:02

Dry everything you need to know about Project 333

To summarise, the hardcore version is that you select 33 items (clothes, shoes and accessories) and wear only them for 3 months. Gym wear, underwear and PJ's excluded.

Drywhiteplease · 03/07/2013 23:04

But why?

libertychick · 03/07/2013 23:11

well, why indeed?? Grin Theory is that we all have too much stuff and it is possible to have a varied look and lots of options from a pared down wardrobe. People doing it say it makes getting dressed much easier, some people put everything else away and enjoy having less clutter. I wanted to do it as I thought it would help me work out which items are worth spending more money on etc. I spent about 2 weeks a few months ago trying to put together a 333 list but couldn't mostly because I have different work and social looks.

Drywhiteplease · 03/07/2013 23:14

There is a lot in my wardrobe that I haven't worn in a long time it's true.....maybe another sort out is due.

libertychick · 03/07/2013 23:21

I have been writing down what I wear every day (well at least a few times a week) to try and work out what I wear most and why. I think 33 is very difficult but I think 50 could be achievable.

OK bedtime for me...Mig hope you are getting some sleep...

shopafrolic · 03/07/2013 23:25

I said I couldn't do 333 as most of the time there's over 30 items in my ironing basket!

Parisisalwaysagoodidea · 03/07/2013 23:46

Maybe one day you could have a MNV swishing meetup?

Is swishing the right word? Grin
