gwen welcome,lovely dress.

linus your poor Ds,vomiting can be extremely tiring for small children, hope he gets better.

queen an all girl trip for your 40th is a fab idea.

GrumpyOldHorsewoman · 25/06/2013 11:03

I never cease to be amazed by how fast this thread moves!

Welcome Gwen we are a friendly bunch and if you enjoy fashion/style/general chat, you'll like it here.

QueenC My little sister went to Marrakech and loved it. She won't be going again for a while though as her waters broke last night - first baby!

Shop DH and I have what you may call a volatile relationship, but we've been married 20 years this Sept (I know, I don't look old enough Wink). Talking/explosions are the only way to solve issues, otherwise it's just simmering resentment. You're doing the right thing - glad you're feeling a bit better.

Tried on the Ann Taylor last night and wasn't sure - didn't 'fit' the way I thought it would, but such a faff to return, I think I may try my hand at customising. As I squeezed hung it in my wardrobe I realised how much summer stuff I have hardly worn. Bloody British weather. I'm going to pack it all for my week in Portugal. It'll be costume changes throughout the day!

Has anyone had an Equipment blouse? Rather like this one...

LinusDKD · 25/06/2013 11:08

DS hasn't vomited since this morning, so fingers crossed it's just a mild tummy bug. He is in a super foul mood though and is having a nap at the moment.

The pediatrician said that the dry patches on DD's back are eczema and has prescribed a very greasy cream to use and has recommended we only bathe her twice a week and use a special bath oil.

My Me&Em order has arrived and I really like the boyfriend tee so I am already wearing it with the DP navy maxi tube skirt. At first I thought it was too long but once I tried it on it was fine.

The Grecian dress looks lovely, especially the colour (teal is one of my favourite colours) but I will have to try it on later when the DC are sleeping. It does look very wrinkled though but I hope that's just because it was sent via mail.

shop glad to hear things have calmed down!

shopafrolic · 25/06/2013 11:08

That's a lovely blouse Grumpy great colour.
20 years? - I thought it was illegal to get married at 15 in this country? Wink Agree though - before DH I used to love a good row to clear the air. He hates arguing and if I raise my voice he walks away (married before to a psycho!) so I try to keep my temper in check but this time neither of us did.
Congrats on impending Auntiehood!
Foxy mental note made for me not to buy a Wang skirt if they ride up - I find it terrifying enough getting my legs out as it is!
Anything good on the Outnet this morning?

LinusDKD · 25/06/2013 11:09

Oh and welcome Gwen!

shopafrolic · 25/06/2013 11:16

Linus my grecian dress was very wrinkled too - I hung it in the bathroom while I had a shower and the creases dropped out but I haven't worn it yet to know how it copes........
My DS gets eczema - always bad in warm weather. We use Epaderm ointment melted into bath water, and then Epaderm cream afterwards and whenever skin is dry. Moisture, moisture, moisture. The clinic also prescribed us a strong steroid cream for serious outbreaks but we rarely use it.

shopafrolic · 25/06/2013 11:16

Oh and rinse all clothes thoroughly to remove traces of washing powders and greasy ointments as our tumble dryer clogged up with cream that had melted as clothes were drying.

foxysocks · 25/06/2013 11:21

i would love an equipment shirt, that's really nice grumps

where is hopefully? hope she's ok.

santamarianovella · 25/06/2013 11:23

grumpy i have a few equipment shirts, they are LOVELY,softest fabric ever and very flattering.you can get addicted to them,
seeing the link,do u shop from neimans?is so do you pay duties or just shipping?

GrumpyOldHorsewoman · 25/06/2013 11:45

santa I've only bought from Neimans when in the US, but I'd imagine it's the same as Nordstrom - quite pricey on duties and shipping. Just bought the Equipment shirt from Tags. Even though it's also a US site, it's only $20 international shipping and no duty (and even cheaper than at Neimans - reduced to $99)

shopafrolic · 25/06/2013 12:09

My Farhi tee is reduced on Atterley Road in the tan stripe if anyone's interested. Really lovely to run around in....

LinusDKD · 25/06/2013 12:54

What's the sizing like in French Sole shop? The same as Pretty Ballerinas?

mignonette · 25/06/2013 12:56

Grumpy I am eyeing up Equipment shirts because they look eternally stylish. I'm looking for one with a pussy cat bow that I can leave undone and hanging loose.

Queen Ye-es I went in yesterday and today. I can work flexi time to a certain extent. I know it is stupid but finding cover when everybody else is stretched to breaking point makes me feel too guilty. And I have a couple of clients teetering on the edge of requiring admission so feel under duress to see them myself. I know, I know....Sad

Linus - have chucked out many a rug/duvet/pillow/cushion from vomming little ones (and a not so little teenager who chundered all over my beloved red gingham rug-an oldie but goodie). My sympathies and hope recovery is in the air soon....

Gwen I deliberately do not look too closely at my ankles when wearing ankle straps because I love them so much. My philosophy is to keep moving and then ankles will be so blurred from perpetual motion that nobody will notice Grin. I like the costume. I often wear that shape because it is super stylish, flattering to everybody and I'm not fond of getting my ta ta's out for all to see. I'm quite a buttoned up dresser. I have gone topless and I breastfed both my children for far too long but I am quite modest on the beach because I like to run about and swim and I hate sunbathing so unconcerned about tan lines....Will peruse PJ's for you. Keep an eye out for White Company sales for truly luxurious lounging PJ's/night wear. They are all white and pale colours so baby sick will not show and being cotton/linen you can chuck them in at 60-90 degrees too. If you have to wear at home clothes or want to then go luxe I say. You can always wander about in just the PJ top if you want to catch the attention of a partner/DH I say. No need to put on fishnets Wink

shopafrolic · 25/06/2013 13:02

French Sole come up small Linus - will check what size mine are when I take DS up for his nap. Back to you shortly....... I love the animal print ones. They had black quilted too I think...

QueenCadbury · 25/06/2013 13:02

grumpy wasn't it an equipment shirt that amber bought and blogged about? Or am I getting my labels mixed up.

gwen I really like that cossie.

Dh and I don't tend to do big rows but we do bicker with each other when we're both tired/stressed.

Lovely sunny day. Am finally going to wear the saltwaters this afternoon.

shopafrolic · 25/06/2013 13:05

Right Linus I'm a 42 in French Sole, 41 in LK Bennett, 40 in Ash. I'm a UK 7 - 7.5

LinusDKD · 25/06/2013 13:11

Thanks shop. I'm a 37 in Pretty Ballerinas but a 38 in other brands so now I don't know what size to go for.

I am tempted by the red quilted ones, although the animal print ones are pretty too. But as I am an animal print virgin I think I need to try it one before I buy. Maybe when we are in NY in a couple of weeks time I'll try and find the Madewell ones everyone is mad about.
