I had another t shirt on order but they emailed this morning and said they didn't have it in my size after all so they gave me £25 credit as a gesture of good will.

Most of the stuff I ordered is the start building up my basics so are pretty boring to be honest.

In the outnet I ordered a few t's and vest.

At least in London I concentrate on the fun stuff like bags and shoes Grin

Sorry for not doing personals, I'm on my phone with limited wii fi access.

I will try my best soon x

QueenCadbury · 19/06/2013 20:19

mig that dress is gorgeous. Can't believe you're not going out although sometimes it's just too much hassle and easier to stay in .

I'm doing fine thanks. No shoulder pain thankfully and not much pain at all, more just feeling tender and bruised. And still very swollen looking!

mig I'm a nurse too o totally understand the pressures. Not psych though. Hats off to you for that. I'm about to pay my next annual registration fee but am unlikely to return to work.

barbie nice stuff.

grumpy glad you like your coat.

Drywhiteplease · 19/06/2013 20:30

QueenC I wore navy and pink today, inspired by your pin board....couldn't find any pink roses though

santamarianovella · 19/06/2013 20:49

loooool at dry

great haul barbie and good luck with the rest of your shopping.

some pics of ascot ladies are just Shock. and katherine looks orange.

was that a genuine post from the staff at anna? very odd.

LinusDKD · 19/06/2013 20:54

Such a beautiful dress Mignonette! Maybe it can be your ice-cream eating dress, just don't spill any.

Glad you love the coat Grumpy, it looks like one of those timeless pieces you will get a lot of pleasure from.

Novice no Boots in Switzerland unfortunately. The paediatrician did prescibe an anti-histamine and an ointment to put on the spots. Poor DS has a fever now and has been awake for the last hour and is really upset.

Something tells me it's going to be a long night...

mignonette · 19/06/2013 21:00

Queen

waves at nurse colleague.

Barbi I wear James Perse and I like the grey sweatshirt best out of your list as it will never ever date and they get better with age (as I wish I did)....

santamarianovella · 19/06/2013 21:08

oh linus your poor DS.hope its not severe.

GrumpyOldHorsewoman · 19/06/2013 21:47

Dry I am indeed Princess Anne and have issued an order of high treason against you Wink.

I am not well-known by any stretch of the imagination. Only people in racing would remotely know who I was and that would generally be more by name than appearance (Thank God).

mignonette I have huge Tory Burch envy now. That clutch is gorgeous, as is almost everything on her website. I have been searching, without success, for this cover up on the website and now have a desperation to buy it. Why is it not there?

libertychick · 19/06/2013 22:27

Love the Marc Jacobs Mignonette. Now how do you stay a size 10 while eating macarons and ice cream???? Sorry to hear that you are considering leaving nursing, and also QueenC. I am a senior NHS manager (I know nurses hate people like me) but it really makes me sad that so many health professionals feel disempowered and leave feeling disillusioned - I hope that doesn't sound patronising...

Great shopping Barbie. My fav is the LBD.

I have just written down Novice's pox cures for when it hits here.

So negotiations have been successfully concluded 'chez liberty' and I officially have a pass out for the MU on the 6th - yay! I am hoping for a nice, but not too hot, day as I have a serious lack of suitable warm day clothes!

Drywhiteplease · 19/06/2013 22:35

Grumpy my heart skipped a tiny beat then! Grin

loo seat discussion

libertychick · 19/06/2013 22:41

Oh dear god - Mignonette is pinning ice cream again, with luscious descriptions - I AM ON A DIET - to quote Dr Suess - 'you let me be!'....

libertychick · 19/06/2013 22:55

Peanut butter with dark chocolate shavings - my life will not be complete until I have tried this...mig you are a bad, bad woman....

libertychick · 19/06/2013 22:56

Thanks for linking the loo seat discussion Dry, both DH and I in stitches Grin

shopafrolic · 19/06/2013 23:18

Sorry all. Playdate and then just got home from dinner with girlfriends. Glad the loo seat discussion got linked. What did shopatanna say?? Can't believe I missed their naughtiness. And waves to royalty / the Jenkins.
I wore the Me&em maxi tonight with my Gigis - such a fab dress.
Will read up in more detail tomorrow.
Waves to Novice across the pond.
Night all x

Reading loo seat discussion as DS watches diggers, tractors and helicopters on youtube. Anti-histamine schmistamine!

Yawn.

Drywhiteplease · 20/06/2013 07:59

liberty in US I discovered Reece peanut cup ice creams.....peanut butter and chocolate. Unbelievable!i hope they never come to the UK.

mignonette · 20/06/2013 08:19

Liberty

I don't hate NHS managers at all. The problems are coming from constant 'restructuring' in our trust causing insecurity amongst staff and more important, patients some of whom I have been case manager for over ten years and known for twenty. Some are in tears over having new CPN's imposed upon them when it has taken them a long time (due to severe and enduring MI) to build a productive relationship with exisitng one.

Managers are leaving in droves too and my managers are all suffering stress related illnesses. I am band 7 so have to manage too. Its hell.

Dry....Reeses would be great crushed into Vanilla ice cream (waves as I go off to Hell for inciting diet insurrection)

Linus I do hope your night was not too disturbed by your poor DD's illness. All I can suggest is the time honoured gel packs/Calamine/lotions kept in the fridge for application to itches. Another thing I find can help is when itching gets really annoying, get her to lightly pinch her arm or leg until the pinch becomes distracting enough to 'confuse' the itch messages from nerve endings. No, I'm not encouraging self harm Smile but for some reason, it works for some people.

Today I am wearing an aqua/white striped shift sun dress by Joules which has shirring around the bodice. I'm not normally drawn to Joules clothing or the brand but I saw this dress in a store window reduced to £29 and snapped it up because it has a high enough neckline and knee length to be work appropriate yet is nice and cool to wear. Have paired it with tan Swedish HasBeens and a pale yellow nail polish- I will be the clothing incarnation of Summer despite its apparent absence.

shopafrolic · 20/06/2013 08:19

Barbie I love that grey sweatshirt - good haul
Just looked through the DM pictures from Ascot and how bad did Sarah Harding look - I really worry for her. Way too skinny now and her life seems out of control
Can someone PM me and tell me what the shopatanna post was all about?
Dropping DS at nursery and then off to train with the dogs round the fields. Anyone fancy joining me for bench presses and lunges in between clearing up dog poo? You're most welcome.....
I too have been eyeing up Stella & Dot - would love this
Yay for Liberty coming on the 6th!

Your outfit sounds pretty Mignonette - what colour is the dress?

LinusDKD · 20/06/2013 08:38

DS (and I) hardly slept last night. It was so awful seeing him cry in pain and scratching himself and ther was nothing I could do.

He's just fallen asleep on the sofa next to me and he looks so sad with his face full of white blobs of cream. He even has spots in his hair, in his ears and on the soles of his feet. Sad

Lovely necklace shop! I haven't decided yet whether I will order the necklaces I have my eye on,but when I do I'll link.

QueenCadbury · 20/06/2013 08:47

Morning. I think I overdid it yesterday as I'm feeling weak and weary today. Dh at work but dm is staying for a couple of days thank goodness so I am going to do nothing today.

liberty don't worry, I don't hate you (dh who is a consultant may do though Grin). There are many reasons for me thinking about giving up nursing, the main one being that juggling a job, 3 dc and dh long hours is jut too stressful. Although I'm a band 7 by time I've paid childcare there's not that much left over to make it worth the stress. I was very committed to my job and patients and ended up doing lots of stuff at home as there's just not enough time at work to do all the admin/managerial stuff. I believe in giving the highest quality care possible but just became frustrated with time and financial constraints not allowing you to do so. I'm oncology (cancer) trained so I intend to put my skills/experience to use and so some voluntary work for Marie curie which I will hopefully start in September.

shop the Anna thing was just shopatanna trying to offer a discount but as liberty pointed out, advertising is not allowed on here. Next time they should just pm us with freebies Grin!

My toilet seat is always up unless I need to stop dd putting stuff down it.

liberty make sure you get a free pass for 12 October too as I owe you wine!

QueenCadbury · 20/06/2013 08:50

linus the worst of it should be over in a couple of days. I found regular baths helped to ease the itching and bought aqueous cream with calamine in it which I found more effective that calamine lotion.

mignonette · 20/06/2013 09:11

Queen Take it easy today...Sad that the NHS is going to lose all that hard won experience but it is to Marie Curie's gain. We liaised with them for GF, DF and FIL- very good they were too. Have you considered setting up a web based info/support service? Lots of semi or untrained well meaning ones out there but a nurse assisting with jargon, NHS pathways, debunking myth and disseminating all the tips/advice you've heard and learned over the years etc would be a good addition.

I just have so much guilt over the sub standard psych care I feel our trust offers. I do not want to put my name to it any more. Maybe voluntary services would be the way to go but increasingly organisations like MIND are taking over traditionally 'stat' services and therefore inheriting all the problems associated with.

Linus poor poor DS...I do hope that he has passed 'critical' point and will start to feel better soon. Would ice cream help? (wicked Wink) You or him?

I need to find some loose cotton skirts to keep cool- am starting to get hot flushes. I like A line or tube (but not in stretch jersey as have so many) and also 'secretary' style (modest) with inverted central pleats. Folding/pleating all welcome and they need to be knee length. I don't do knees at work and on holiday/home I wear shorts more often if I want to get my legs out. Plain colours preferable as I have a lot of print and stripe and need some plain skirts to go with vividly patterned tops that are languishing in my closets.

Help.....

MarshaBrady · 20/06/2013 09:27

Morning lovely ones.

Linus your poor ds, I hope he is better soon.

Liberty great news!

Yes agree, send freebies and we'll oblige with a link Grin.

Lovely day here. One of my last no dc days and I am revelling in the quiet. It is so lovely.

Weather is fabulous too, I love it when it's warm.
