mignonette · 17/06/2013 08:31

Santa

here it is...

Marsha Hopefully building those outfits will channel any nervousness constructively. It is; at least, something tangible to focus upon that is solvable...Smile..

It is going to be ninety degrees on Wednesday according to the forecast which triggers mild anxiety because my closets are heavily biased towards not-hot. I have become so acclimatised (so to speak) to cool weather that I do not really buy hot weather garments. And my holiday clothes aren't really what I would wear to work. I do have to be very careful about flashing flesh, with the client group I often work with being young males. I also have to be on call, going out alone at night for crisis management work.

Talking of holiday clothes, my DS's GF put on a little 'show' of her new outfits last night. She looked so lovely-fresh, unaffected, not plastered in make up and fake tan. Fathers Day was always going to be difficult this year in our home with it being the first since Father/FIL died and son's GF lost her father a few years ago. Taking her out shopping helped.

What a shame Matalan did not stock those tube skirts MrsR. Have you looked online? They are worth pursuing.

shopafrolic · 17/06/2013 08:37

Foxy I'm trying to buy a 6 and a 7 - I have over £700 worth of stuff I want to buy - why can't these sites get it right!!!!!!!!??????

OP posts:
shopafrolic · 17/06/2013 08:38

You can return sale stuff can't you??

OP posts:
mignonette · 17/06/2013 08:42

The only legal obligation is if it is faulty but many places do. However some stores will only issue credit for sale stuff.

shopafrolic · 17/06/2013 08:42

Woop!!! Order went through.

shopafrolic · 17/06/2013 08:47

Can't get excited about NaP sale, have seen it all cheaper elsewhere. May be interested when the 70% reductions start.

MarshaBrady · 17/06/2013 08:59

Shop shopping up a storm! Good one on the Dagmar.

Thanks everyone really appreciate it Smile and it all breaking down to stop rising nerves.

santamarianovella · 17/06/2013 09:44

surely NAP were expecting this! they should have been prepared for a crash! fcking unbelievable!,amber* save me a seat im joining the anti NAP sale team too.

foxysocks · 17/06/2013 10:02

lol marsha just looked again, that jumper would be a crop top on me i reckon. too short!

have had a look through NaP, am not overwhelmed. the jeans still seem v expensive. only thing have in basket is the arty. will it stick around for further discounts do you think, oh stylish ones? or is it now or never? amber what size is yours and which finger do you wear it on?

it is SO frustrating that sites can't increase capacity or something in advance of sales launching, they KNOW it's going to go crackers for the first few hours.

LinusDKD · 17/06/2013 10:06

The NaP website was already acting up at 7 h. CET when I was browsing, so really not impressed.

I am a bit underwhelmed with their sale to be honest. I only have a MiH breton top in my basket but as the p&p is ridiculous I probably won't be buying it.

In bag related news, I think I spotted the LV Sofia Coppola beauty in navy today at the supermarket. A lady passing me on the travelator was carrying it and I turned round several times to see if it was really the LV bag. If it had been in the red colour I am lusting after I would have run after her and given it a kiss.

I gather Swiss jails are rather plushy and DH can look after the DC so it would have been worth it. Grin

LinusDKD · 17/06/2013 10:36

Your Sardinia board looks impressive Mignonette! I have always wanted to go but now I'm even more determined.

Would you recommend going there with small children? Next summer DS will be 3.5 and DD 1.5 years old, so are they a bit too young?

shopafrolic · 17/06/2013 10:48

I've bought the Arty Foxy on the basis that if it comes down further I'll buy it again and return the old one! Also bought a Chan Luu bracelet but am going to have a dig around later and see if it is cheaper anywhere else (anyone know about such things?).
The Dagmar sweater is full price anyway and is something I've been lusting after for ages.....

Linus

I would avoid July/Aug with very young children because the beaches are very crowded in the main holiday areas and it is extremely hot.

Before late June and from the last week in august (I have been in mid April and mid Sept and spent both weeks toasting in sunshine) would be ideal as well as much cheaper. One holiday we had two years ago when we took DS and his Gf cost us less than £1200 for 4 adults for ten days self catering inclusive of car hire, flights and accom. We booked through JustSardinia and went in mid April.

Children are very well received there as in Italy generally. Lots of accommodating in restaurants and cafes, great safe sandy beaches to putter about on with many beaches having softly shelving sea beds and of course that extraordinary pellucid and clean water to paddle in.

The food is good too. Plenty of simple pasta, pizza by the metre and bread/cheese/tomato combinations. It is easy to self cater and I still yearn for carrier bags full of miniature violet tinged baby artichokes for less than £2. We steamed them and served with butter, salt and garlic and occasionally an anchovy pounded into the butter. Saw lots of toddlers sucking on them too.

Today I am wearing this with a pale grey cashmere/merino knit short sleeve from Pure and these stripy flat form espadrilles. The espadrilles are from New Look and so bouncy and comfortable.

OneLittleLady · 17/06/2013 11:25

I'm very Envy at everyone's fabulous sale shopping. All my money is being thrown at music lessons so nothing spare for pretties Sad it'll be worth it in the end though. Well, I hope so at least! Currently lounging in my peruna slinky purple dressing gown practising some scales

AmberNectarine · 17/06/2013 11:40

What are you hoping to achieve with your lessons One? I am grade 8 voice, mezzo soprano. Don't do anything with it beyond singing along to the radio!

My arty is a 7 and I wear it on my middle finger.

OneLittleLady · 17/06/2013 11:49

I'm first off hoping to get my grades and then actually sing in a band or something. Actually do something with my voice. I've waited so long to do something for myself and it's now or never! I thought I'd be a mezzo myself but my teacher says I have a soprano range and can hit the 'high F' if that means anything to you amber ? Of course, I also want to get into uni and study, I have wasted so much of my life being scared of everything and hiding away, looking after everyone else and I reckon it's my time now Grin

QueenCadbury · 17/06/2013 11:56

Must just say a big thank you to liberty Thanks. I am now the proud owner of this top. It fits well in a slouchy way and initially I was worried it may look a bit bet lynch with my blonde hair but adding a cardi/jacket tones it down a bit. Thanks agin liberty, I've pm'd you.
