Hello ladies! Happy Father's Day Smile I at Heathrow - my last flight for about 6 weeks, hurrah! My outfit is all high street today. That lovely indigo warehouse top that either Dry or QueenC found for me, warehouse jeggings, my Primark waterfall cardigan that I use when I travel and the KG pumps I got in the sales. I then have bling and my beloved balenciagaGrin

mignonette · 16/06/2013 17:51

I'm always interested to read/hear about other women's travelling outfits. It can be one of those style-minefields.....Hi Novice...

The last time we flew to Sardinia (our regular stamping ground) the flight was full of models/stylists/photographer+assistants and very interesting it was too to see what they wore. Variations on J Brand Jeans not too skinny to avoid having to wear them until ankles have gone down, skinny long T's layered and jackets plus big big sunnies...And bare faces too. No make up which seems to be par for the course with models I've met as they're sick of the stuff.....

Today I am wearing Acne tube skirt in black on grey stripe, white Perse skinny V neck T, Sportsmax black jersey blazer and my Kurt Geiger ochre yellow calfskin thong sandals.

BrandyAlexander · 16/06/2013 17:54

I am so glad I am about to fly. The MK Hamilton tote I have loved for ages is now half price! Sigh. Must.not.get.it. It looks like one of my Aspinals anyway. Oh, I didn't get the err shiny Aspinal.Grin

shopafrolic · 16/06/2013 17:55

Safe travels Novice - your hotel looked lovely by the way! Hope you get to see it and aren't office based till all hours....... If you have time / inclination can you tell me how much an Oak printed Mulberry Bayswater is at Duty Free? Are you in T5?

OP posts:
BrandyAlexander · 16/06/2013 18:04

Oh damn Shop, I am so sorry, I have passed through. :( yes I was in T5. On plane now. The hotel is one of my favourite chains. Them or four seasons, you can't go wrong.Smile

shopafrolic · 16/06/2013 18:05

Don't be daft - I should have thought to ask earlier..... DH won't be flying again for a while so it's not important. Feet up, movie on, safe travels xx

Bon Voyage....xx

Drywhiteplease · 16/06/2013 19:16

Have a safe trip novice , where you off to this time?( missed that bit)
mignonette you are v kind to your DS girlfriend, lovely stuff. And BTW models can travel sans make up because they're beautiful and don't look as rough as a badger's arse without it, unlike me!Grin

I am on a fashion high......have completely abandoned the spending ban ( why did I impose it?) and bough this..... So excited, can't wait for it to arrive. I have loved it for a while and have a blue bag gap in my wardrobe. I blame YOU MrsR for reminding me!!!!
my shopping is normally v safe, considered and reasonably priced, but ,occasionally I just fall in love with an item;you know the heart in mouth feeling and I just go for it and feel incredibly naughty but the few items I have like that are always the ones I love the most.
Now I really must impose a spending ban............but that won't be hard because I find June-August v depressing shopping wise anyway.

Oh bike ride was long, good fun but now have sore arse! would have been helpful if DH had remembered a MAP but since it was Father's Day I didn't go on about it

mignonette · 16/06/2013 19:20

Love your Nancy Dry

I'm so tempted by that pink River Island sweatshirt I bought GF of DS- posted pic earlier. It is so soft. Is brightish pink a bit 80's Fame for a 40-something?

Mid Summer fashion did tend to be a bit meh but now we have pre-fall and cruise things are looking up!

santamarianovella · 16/06/2013 19:45

hi everyone!
we did not have a great fathers day at all,DD fell in the garden and cut her lip poor thing, we spent the entire afternoon at A&E . the amount of blood that came out of her cut was horrifying,DH and i are both awful at accidents, we both panicked which caused the LO more distress, she was crying for hours,im glad we are home and that she is fine.

enough with the drama now!

safe trip novice and what your wearing sounds comfortable .

mignonette i loveeeee Sardinia! hoping to go this summer, we have not decided yet, do you go to costa smeralda?
i too like to have a look at what people are wearing at airports , but i find its not easy when you have a toddler, and need easy clothes to move in.you get very limited options.

we have not heard from linus in a while, hope everything is ok Smile.

MarshaBrady · 16/06/2013 19:47

Wow Dry what a Sunday purchase! Good one!

Novice have a good trip.

MarshaBrady · 16/06/2013 19:48

Oh no Santa always horrible when stuff like that happens. I'm glad you're home now.

LinusDKD · 16/06/2013 19:52

Wow, I've been without internet for a couple of days and it's taken me a while to catch up.

Amber congrats on your driving licence. It took me many attempts as well. And the picture of your Rocco is unbelievable, I would go back and complain.

One well done on the singing lesson.

Grumpy I bought Neroli Portofino a couple of weeks ago but DH has pinched it. He also wears TF for Men and Creed Original Vetiver (all bought for him by me)

Mignonette my summer perfume is A la Nuit by Serge Lutens and Cristalle by Chanel.

Shop yes to a rose gold rolex. I am currently wearing an old Must de Cartier watch my mum used to wear but I would like a really nice watch one day.

I don't remember who linked to Elie Saab but his dresses are to die for. I always find the best dresses actresses at the Oscars wear his designs.

And now my favourite subject: Bags!

I bought a Mulberry Bayswater about 8 years ago and it has worn reallg well. I am gobsmacked at the prices they are charging now because LV or Hermès they aint!

Mignonette I love the colour of your PS1 and one day I would like to own a Bottega Veneta as well as a 2.55. Oh, and that Tom Ford bag and the Sofia Coppola LV bag I linked a while back.

Santa I think DM has that Chanel shopper and she also has a bag very similar to the second one you linked to. It even has a secret compartment in the bottom to put your foldable Chanel umbrella!

DM also has two Birkins, one of which will be mine eventually (but hopefully that won't be for a very, very long time). They are the Birkins designed by JP Gaultier so they are a bit 'shorter' than the original ones.

My trio does have a few scratches on it but the leather is very soft and my lifestyle (lugging DC in and out of cars etc) means I don't take very good care of my bags. I have been using my Tod's D bag Bauletto a lot recently and that is showing some scratches as well.

Right, off to have a look at the Atterley Road sale...

mignonette · 16/06/2013 19:57

Oh what a rotten day for you all Santa. Hoping all is calm now xx

We fly to Alghero and drive/stay mainly in the NW or Central West coastal regions although I have travelled all over. I'd avoid Costa Smerelda between end of June and end of August. It is over priced, over crowded and full of 'Eurotrash'....Sad

Alghero is wonderful; a little Sardinian city with Catalan influences with fabulous beaches nearby. You can drive to amazingly deserted beach paradises (La Pelosa berach is breathtaking) and it is fabulous for children-safe, accessible from the airport (ten minutes) and not grabby grabby regarding tourist cash. Check out my Sardinia pinterest board for some of the places we have been to and stayed in.

Villa Las Tronas in Alghero is a lovely if pricier hotel as is capo Caccia hotel. Other alternatives for an inexpensive family self catering break is the Bougainvillea Apartments in Alghero and the JustSardinia website sells holidays here.

In the south there are lovely beach resorts too and a great train ride across the island from coast to coast through the mountains is a great way to take a 2 day trip (you have to stay overnight).

santamarianovella · 16/06/2013 20:11

thanks marsha & mignonette i need to learn to stay calm.

dry that bag is beyond gorgeous!

mignonette last year we stayed at hotel romazzino in porto cervo ,we got a good deal but it was still way to expensive, lovely beach though,
can you link me your pinterest board?

QueenCadbury · 16/06/2013 20:25

dry I'm glad you survived! And wow,how gorgeous is your new bag? The only reason I didn't choose the nancy earlier as my fantasy bag is becuse of the gold hardware . But it truly is gorgeous.

MrsRadicchio · 16/06/2013 20:27

Oh Dry great purchase! I love being an enabler Grin

Santa glad your DD is ok now, but how awful - I hate seeing blood when DC hurt themselves, seems so much worse.

Mignonette I like the sound of your tube skirts. You inspired me to visit matalan after you said they had some surprisingly good ones, but unfortunately none in my nearby store.

Great colours board by the way QueenC. I love red and pink together and blue and green. Like the blog you linked too.

Safe trip novice

LinusDKD · 16/06/2013 20:32

Santa poor DD, I hope she is ok now!

Lovely bag Dry. Isn't it nice when you finally buy something you have been lusting after for ages.

QueenCadbury · 16/06/2013 20:36

novice are you still there?? Or up in the air? Just wanted to ask you about the kaliko cowl neck tops? Are they clingy? What's the sizing like? I'm an 8 on top but have 30f boobs.

shopafrolic · 16/06/2013 20:51

She's flying QueenC
Santa what a shock, I hope you're all feeling better. One of my earliest childhood memories was splitting m lip - mainly because my parents allowed me unlimited ice cream for days. I hope she feels better soon and you get to relax tonight.
Gorgeous bag Dry
