Shiny new thread for some shiny new perfumes (and classics and niche brands)

I like Icon, Smell of Weather Turning, Breath of God, and Superworld Unknown. I sort of can tolerate Sikkim Girls from the new stuff, and still want to try Furze , but the others are not for me..

Furze was comforting, more mildly inoffensive than dramatically loving it. Also didn't last on me. I found it pleasant but not enough to buy it especially given the lasting power

The one that gets the most male comments is DKNY original for me. I know my friends say they smell it and think of me!
I'm desperate to try some of the CB fragrances particularly the Beach one
Such a scent person, I burn a lot of wax tarts too (tonight's is johnsons baby bath)

Hmm, never tried Shalimar, must see if I can get to my trusty HoF this weekend to correct that oversight pronto!

Goodasitgets I find it v difficult to get past the doors of lush! I've always wondered what they hell they are making that smells so overpowering so never tried bug...

You should ry some of the sample sites good, I got some from www.surrendertochance.com, kept the order under $75 and it slipped through customs no problem. Might be worth looking up the perfume makers own site too as sometimes they do sample packs v reasonably. I was all set to order a sample pack from the Different Company but they wanted ?30 for postage . They're only in France fgs. I know there are uk sites that do samples too but they don't ship to where I am so I don't have their address memorised!

Anyone ever tried Ninfeo Meo by Annick Goutal?

I would never have bothered ordinarily as on paper it is not my sort of thing at all - green, citrussy, fruity e.t.c.

But I got a free sample of it when I was perfume shopping the other day, and by gosh it is lovely. Fresh and light and just... lovely. It smells like a sunny walk in a fragrant herb garden dotted with fig trees.

Still not my sort of thing on paper, but I do love it. It would be perfect in very hot weather.

Ninfeo Mio is my number 1 want at the moment. Just sublime, I have a 5ml sample from Surrender to Chance... you can get a 15ml glass spray there for $39... think i will have to get a FB though.

There are 10 CB perfume samples at www.cultbeauty.co.uk. 2ml for £3 each.

God really? On the CB website they are charging minimum $12...

I love Ninfeo Mio too, and it's on my FB list. It smells like Italian sunshine to me.

Been wafting about in sample 5 all evening, it's really good, I'm really enjoying it. Seems a v bitter green initially but a sweetness develops as time goes on but if I focus on it the bitterness is still there. It's an odd one, comes in and out of focus, if I try to break it down I gett bitter green dominating with some floral (I think) on top but if I relax and just take a general sniff it's a lovely womanly fragrance.

Thank you so much for sending them Toys. Will I send them back to you? Or does anyone else want a go (though I guess they're not exactly a mystery any more!

Wilting: You can keep them, since it's hard for you to get samples there in Ireland..

Tried Hot Couture in Boots today. Awful, just.. awful. Sweet, synthetic and trashy DS tried layering Allure with Tresor. He then insisted on buying a Marigold plant from Homebase and sniffing the flowers all the way back home. Didn't even want to go to the playground - said that he wanted to just sniff the flowers. Hmm..

I think I need to wear my Shalimar Ode a la Vanille more. Today I stink of Habanita EDP after doing a decant and ending up drenching myself with the crappy bottle (leaking from the top)..

My samples from parfumeries des fontaines arrived and had to sample the mona di orio this morning and I now totally understand why a FB is an absolute necessity in anyone's life fuckit

Number one is the (leaky) Habanita EDP

SOTD: Sonia Rykiel Le Parfum. Smells exactly like a root-filled clump of damp earth with some grass attached, immersed in Coca-Cola. Weird. But likeable weird.
