Shiny new thread for some shiny new perfumes (and classics and niche brands)

flora, can I have your Tauers? I'll send you some mixed samples in return. The only Tauer I don't love is Reverie au Jardin and I'm going to persevere as I do like a nice Green.

Vibbe · 22/06/2013 15:10

SOTD: Hermes Hermessence Ambre Narguile.
It's a funny one, as I don't really like this type of sweet perfume. But it reminds me of childhood candies that tasted of star anise. But apparently I'm the only one who can smell star anise when looking at reviews of the perfume online.

ChocsAwayInMyGob · 22/06/2013 15:15

Vibbe, I like Ambre Narguile, but it reminds me of Christmas. I don't normally like gourmands, but I make an exception for this one. It's delicious.

ToysRLuv · 22/06/2013 15:32

Sound like something I should try next time I'm in town..

florascotia · 22/06/2013 15:37

Of course, Chocs. Just kindly PM me with an address to post them to.

FrugalFashionista · 22/06/2013 16:59

Away on a short trip on the beach. The hotel toiletries have a delectable fig-coconut vibe that makes me miss Ninfeo Mio and even CSP Coco Figue! Travelling with just two choices at hand, so Neroli Portofino it is!

ChocsAwayInMyGob · 22/06/2013 17:50

Fuzzy, can you PM your address? I will send it on Tuesday as we are away until then.

ToysRLuv · 22/06/2013 18:52

Frugal that sounds lovely! Enjoy your break!

ToysRLuv · 22/06/2013 18:52

And happy you know what Wink !

CointreauVersial · 23/06/2013 15:57

It's a rotten day weatherwise, and I'm hungover, so I'm wearing the very comforting Figue Sauvage by Les Senteurs Gourmands; fig and creme brulee.

OneLittleLady · 23/06/2013 16:07

So, on me Yatagan smells strongly of soap and pine. One DP, it smells of spices. Am yet to decide if it's a keeper or not, will give it a few more gos before I decide one way or another

CointreauVersial · 23/06/2013 16:19

Who's next for the violets? The majority of the vials are pretty empty, but there are a couple worth testing.

ToysRLuv · 23/06/2013 17:44

Don't know, Cointreau.. But Frugal did say that everyone could keep a vial should they like to do so, so I guess you can keep the emptyish ones? I don't know.. what does everyone else think? Frugal, would you like them back? It was a wonderful gesture!

SOTD: My precioussssss En Passant. Lovely pale watery wheaty Lilacs. Such a bargain that was! Was stalking a bottle of Lipstick Rose as well, but that went for very nearly RRP, so gave up.

I was wondering if anyone would like a little baggie of some mystery decants to sample (and circulate) if I do some (I would let you know what it is in the package and it wouldn't be anything terrible, I promise!)?

FrugalFashionista · 23/06/2013 18:11

Finders keepers! No, I don't want the violets back (you haven't seen my dresser ladies but, ahem, I don't need more perfume) Wink So the last person can either keep them, send them off to someone who didn't yelp on time, or just trade them!

Back at home, classy and safe in Chanel No. 5 EDP.

Fuzzybirds · 23/06/2013 20:02

Chocs thanks again, there's no rush Smile

Toys I would definitely be interested in trying out some mystery perfumes, what a fab idea!

Frugal I would actually love to see your dresser, other people's perfume collections fascinate me. Has anyone else seen the 'perfume collection show off' thread on Fragrantica? It's amazing (and makes me feel not so bad about my now rather extended collection.)

SOTD is Avon Starring, which came along with an ebay joblot of minis. It's not bad, but not very interesting either. White florals and citrus, which fades to a powdery vanilla.

ToysRLuv · 23/06/2013 20:14

You're on, Fuzzy! Anyone else interested in trying some decants?

CointreauVersial · 23/06/2013 21:27

Me too, Toys!

ToysRLuv · 23/06/2013 21:41

Cool! Any other takers? Smile

ToysRLuv · 23/06/2013 21:44

I'll put in some of my old and new favourites - hopefully stuff that you'll not have tried before.

FrugalFashionista · 24/06/2013 10:14

Ooh great idea Toys - go for it ladies, it's fun! Will be travelling this summer so won't be able to do it but will definitely be reading with interest!

SOTD AA Nerolia Bianca, and time to start working!

wiltingfast · 24/06/2013 10:24

Many thanks Belle! Have pm'd you my address Grin.

Toys I'd definitely be game for mystery perfume!

SOTD, I'm back in Chanel 19, Mmmmmm :)

florascotia · 24/06/2013 13:08

SOTD = sample of Lostmarc'h 'DinDan'. Very fresh and clean and lemony - a bit like those Bronnley lemon-shaped soaps (anyone remember them?). Would be lovely and refreshing on a really hot day. However, and perhaps it's just me, I don't get any alluring complexity so far ...

ToysRLuv · 24/06/2013 13:18

SOTD: Vivienne Westwood: Let it Rock. Sweet, amber patchouli. Very nice!

Ok, wilting, you're on the list as well, I will do the decants some time this week. If anyone else is interested, let me know!

CointreauVersial · 24/06/2013 22:19

I remember those Bronley soaps!

SOTD was Dueto Golden Boy. Mmmmm, leather.

FrugalFashionista · 25/06/2013 07:56

SOTD Iris Ukioye by Hermes. Feels like air-conditioning on a hot morning...
