Anni that sounds awful, hope you feel better soon. Also sending healthy vibes to Amber and QueenC

Liberty don't know if I have been doing the trousers justice but I have been wearing them pretty casually. Shoeswise superga / hightops / wedge trainers / wedge desert boots and now that the weather has improved various sandals. Topwise have been wearing this quilted jacket or the whistles blazer which looks really good with the charcoal trousers.

A couple of pinspirations:

here

and here

Another valentino rockstud lover here...I didn't know that is what they were called. I don't suit shoes with ankle straps though (not that I have the budget to buy them anyway).

Paris where in Indonesia are you going? Went there a few years ago: Bali (of course), central Java and some islands off the beaten track (including Komodo island)

Linus I like your dresses. I am a people tree fan as have an interest (though should be more committed) in buying ethically.

My thoughts are not turning to bikinis, that would be too traumatising for me Grin...DS2 has ravaged my body and it hasn't recovered yet. We are actually off on a city break to Paris next week so I will need to plan some outfits for that, waiting to see what the weather is doing first.

Hopefully I liked your summer capsule wardrobe post.

Anni I think the superga look fine on sizewise (I only saw one photo from the front), but depends on how they feel of course. I like the silver and think they would look really nice with a muted outfit.

shopafrolic · 07/05/2013 12:38

In other news I have Sam Edelman info for those big of foot - I'm looking at you Hopefully
I went to my local Anna store today and tried the Gigis which actually look surprisingly good on my large plates of meat. I have come away with a size 10 - which Anna claim is a size 8. I'm a 7.5. these ones

Cross post with Shop - congratulations! How cute!!

MrsRadicchio · 07/05/2013 12:39

About the twins, not the Sam Edelman trainers Grin

MrsRadicchio · 07/05/2013 12:40

Sandals even, sigh

shopafrolic · 07/05/2013 12:44

Thanks MrsR - I"m very excited about the Gigis too! :)

Congrats Shop

Supergas sound great. I'm afraid of plimsolls ever since I was a teenager and bought some converse, total AGONY!

MrsR Love the pins featuring skinny joggers. I'll have a go at that when the weather inevitably turns cooler.

We're thinking of going to Gilli Air in Indonesia. Have you been? We've only booked the HK part of the trip so far so still open to ideas from anyone with experience of SE Asia. Thanks for all the tips. I'll look at t shirts rather than vest tops then as I have a tendency to burn and get bitten by things when abroad. Might get some salt spray stuff for my hair and work with the HK humidity!

I'm also searching for sandals. Love the Gigi's but I have rather spread out feet so will probably contain them in some gladiator style sandals. I would like ankle height ones. What do you reckon to these?. They come in black too. Am I way off the mark here?

Shop I'll check out the VS bikinis when I'm in London, though there are stores opening up north so may try there as well if they open soon. I am at least 2 rounds of the 30 day Shred away from a bikini body atm. DS is 16 and because I was a skinny teenager when I had him, I haven't got the pregnancy weight excuse. I weigh exactly the same today as the day BEFORE he was born so some work to do there I think!

Hopefully · 07/05/2013 13:31

Congratulations Shop! How exciting!

Thanks MrsR Smile.

Paris I like those gladiators, but what if you wore them on a sunny day? You'd get tan lines that would never be hidden by another pair of lower sandals...

Minor drama today - had to pick up poor DS1 from school after a nose-meets-floor incident. They were worried it was broken, but having broken my own nose twice I have decided I am an expert and it is no such thing (the fact that he has a bruise across the front of his face right at the bottom of his nose, implying the contact was well below the bridge of his nose, is helping my diagnosis, as is the fact he is perfectly happy and says it doesn't hurt).

OneLittleLady · 07/05/2013 14:05

Congratulations shop twins are twice the fun and double the trouble (we have a lot of twins on both sides of the family) I'm still umming and ahhing about the skirt foxy linked, I really like it but am worried about showing off my jelly belly Hmm

AmberNectarine · 07/05/2013 14:07

My stripey maxi arrived and is, amazingly, perfect! It needs taking in slightly under the arms as it's a 12 and a bit gappy, but otherwise the fit is good, and it has movement in the skirt which is precisely what I wanted. It has stayed on after the initial try-on, always a good sign!

MarshaBrady · 07/05/2013 14:10

Congratulations Shop! lovely news!

Hopefully oh no poor little thing and ouch for you for your breaks.

Paris not sure on the sandals, but I may be influenced by how much I couldn't wear them, they could be good with right outfit / person.

QueenCadbury · 07/05/2013 14:33

anni you really are my gap twin Grin. Hope your migraine goes soon. How tall are you? If I feel up to it tomorrow I may pay a visit to gap and try it on as I've been wondering about some of the dresses too.

About to do school pick up. Cropped jeans,t shirt, hair scraped back and no make up. The sunglasses should cover the big dark circles under my yes though. My jeans are feeling nicely loose although I doubt they'll stay that way for long as my appetite is returning.

QueenCadbury · 07/05/2013 14:39

Lots of x posts. Congrats shop. Are they ok? I can't imagine how teeny a 2lb baby must be.

paris I really like those sandals mainly because they have a thick sole so look like they would withstand lots of walking/sightseeing.

QueenCadbury · 07/05/2013 14:41

Bollocks, just realised that gap promo on dresses/skirts is today only. Really wanted to try on rather than order loads of random sizes.

foxysocks · 07/05/2013 14:46

i'm not sure on the sandals either paris. i think because they are a bit fussy?

how fabulous shop! congratulations

onelittlelady i think tube skirts are good for holding in, esp if you have good legs? they suit me as I put any weight on round my stomach, my legs stay the same .

i LOVE that amber, dammit only a 12 left

your poor boy hopefully, glad he's at home with you now

OneLittleLady · 07/05/2013 14:50

I have big thighs and calves BUT my calves are very shapely even though they are large. I might risk it and if it doesn't suit I can send it back..........

Parisisalwaysagoodidea · 07/05/2013 14:54

Onelittle I'm an apple and tube skirts are a gift from God for my porky tum!

Hopefully Poor DS! Glad he's not hurting now.

Jury is out on the sandals then! I can't decide as they look a bit crap on the photo but look great on the catwalk video! I'll keep looking.

Sleepwhenidie · 07/05/2013 14:57

Hi everyone, congratulations Shop on twins and lovely sandals Grin!

Anni hope the drugs are working and you feel better soon.

Where has the sun gone please? It was amazing at lunchtime now a bit overcast, I may have to put a sweater over my maxi dress for school run Sad

QueenC, think the maxi is a bit meh sorry, I prefer straighter cut jersey like this maybe? (I love this label btw) or floaty cotton. I suspect the Gap one won't be very flattering to anyone. I did get a couple of great neon bits there last week though, a yellow racer back vest and a fantastic neon bubble gum pink T, amazing colour with a tan (not together, obvs). Am just washing it, anticipating fading but we will see.

Love that James Perse skirt Foxy, the cotton in JP is beautiful but so expensive full price. The mens stuff is fantastic, DH has some polo type tope from there that he has worn to death and still looks great.

Has everyone see the JCrew 25% off in Grazia today? Code is GRAZIA25 I think, can check if it doesn't work. Also a piece by Polly Vernon about giving up skinny jeans, I am sure most of us will sympathise (particularly about our wardrobes containing £squillions worth of the damn things Grin.

Have we really nearly filled another thread already??Shock

foxysocks · 07/05/2013 15:01

Is that j crew website only sleep? Guessing not for use on j crew at nap?

Annianni · 07/05/2013 15:04

I'm 5'7 QueenC
I've ordered the grey skirt (did like the black, but I know I'm not a winter because it drains me)

I have ordered the black/white stripe dress with drawstring waist. Not sure how that'll work with my tum though.

A grey and a navy draped front one.
A blue one with a gathered waist, the same dress in a shorter length.

And a white cotton 3/4 sleeve top, that someone on here linked a while ago... probably you QueenC :o

I like some of the plain tee dresses but I can't get my knees out in public anymore!

Sorry for the lousy descriptions, I'll link later. I've been back in bed for a couple of hours. Dh is walking to school now with ds2.

So I've got 45 mins peace before bedlam!

MrsR, I've tied the laces tight in that photo but they still gape at the back.
If I slide my foot forwards, I can get a finger down the back and they look daft.

My other Superga are 6's, and they fit fine Hmm

santamarianovella · 07/05/2013 15:07

Congrats shop
I really like the gladiator sandals paris, and your trip sounds amazing,
I hope your ds is ok hopefully,
Speaking of studded footwear I saw these today,I and I like them : www.selfridges.com/en/Womenswear/Brand-rooms/Casual/CARVELA/Kream-studded-sandals_854-10004-3656180799/?previewAttribute=Blue
I did try the Valentino studded flat for fun but £500 for flats is way way out of my price range,
And marsha,I know what you mean with lanvin ones, they Are very thin, they look like they won't last.
So what do you ladies think of the McQueen one, should I go for it?
It's this : www.selfridges.com/en/Shoes/Roll-leather-ballet-pumps_926-10004-2842933109/?previewAttribute=Tan

Annianni · 07/05/2013 15:11

Congratulations Shop, lovely new babies to cuddle.

Is the mum ok?

I ordered 2 sizes in the dresses & skirts QueenC, I'm usually a large in Gap, but wanted to try xl too, for a bit of slouchy-ness.

And hope ds is ok Hopefully

libertychick · 07/05/2013 15:14

Still haven't made it to bed - back at home but a few things to sort out. Got through my meeting this morning with 4 cups of tea and 7 biscuits Blush - had to pretend I was up with DD last night!

Hopefully my poor DD had a 'face into concrete step' around about the same time your DS had his accident this morning - she's only 2.4 and this is the first time she's cut herself badly - it happened at playgroup and they called DH. When I saw her I had to struggle not to cry in front of her - huge skinned lump on her forehead, skin off her nose and all cut and skinned under her nose. She is being very brave too - DH has given her calpol as the bump on her head is so big she must have had a headache. She's asleep now.

MrsR thanks for the styling tips - I love those wedge desert boots. I am hoping to get into London on Friday morning so will try to pop into Whistles and try the trousers on.

Annianni · 07/05/2013 15:15

They look fun Santa but I'd bash those skulls getting in and out of the car etc.
But I am rather clumsy.

I've got some lovely black Prada sandals and I've damaged the toe part on the left shoe, through driving in them :(
